Carl put his contact inside her phone and dialed it then his phone started ringing and he took it out and saved her number.
He gave the phone back to the flushed girl and beamed. He stared at her calmly with her head down and had the desire to stroke her full and long black hair.
He never thought he would ever be mesmerized by someone’s hair before. Perhaps he actually liked everything about her.
He glanced over the place and noticed that people had dispersed and they were the only ones left in that area of the amusement park.
Clara looked down at the number which was at the top of her call logs and smiled with upturned lips. ‘Does he really like me?’ she thought happily.
Sitting there with him felt like a dream. His mesmerizing and unique scent floated into her senses and she wondered how a fragrance can do wonders like this and make her calm. After saving his number, she saw that she had missed so many calls from Jack and suddenly remembered that she had put her phone on silent after making the phone call with Mira that morning.
When she remembered Mira, a gasp left her lips and she jolted up instantly.
‘What if Jack hasn’t found her?’ she thought worriedly.
And thinking back to what she had gone through a while ago, her worry increased and she thought Mira might have bumped into those kinds of people. Those men really did look scary. She shuddered at the thought of them and wondered why they stopped following her. Maybe they lost her when she ran into the hunted house.
When Carl saw her stand up abruptly with a worried expression, he frowned slightly and wondered what was wrong. He studied her expression and was about to ask when she suddenly muttered something.
Clara was afraid, she was all the more convinced that Mira would have gotten into trouble. Her hand shook slightly and she subconsciously muttered, “I need to call Jack.”
Carl heard her call another man’s name and he was immediately alerted, then his thoughts drifted back to the guy he saw her with that day.
‘Did she really have a boyfriend?’ His brows furrowed and he studied her expression. She looked like she was afraid of something.
Clara turned her attention to Carl with an anxious expression and softly said, “I need to find my friends…” Then she turned around immediately and dialed Jack’s number which instantly went through.
“Clara where are you?” Jack asked worriedly from the other end.
Clara glanced around the area. “I’m near the hunted house,” she said, “have you found Mira?”
Jack replied yes from the other end and told her that he would immediately come and fetch her, then Clara replied okay. She was finally at ease that Mira was found.
Carl studied her with her back facing him. She was just making a call with a guy and although he couldn’t hear what she was saying, she looked anxious just now.
Clara turned and gazed at him with a calm face and a smile. “I–I have to go,” she said shyly while regretting that she had to part ways with him.
Carl’s expression turned calm when he saw her smile and he softy replied with his own smile. “Mm. Let’s go.” He stood up and remembered his naughty sister and hoped that she didn’t wander around and was being watched properly.
They both strolled side by side silently with delightful expressions, towards a more crowded path.
When Jack put down the phone, he heaved a sigh of relief and turned to Mira. “Clara is on her way coming, I’ll go fetch her,” he said quickly and put Lea down while handing his car keys to her. “Take the kids and wait for me in the car.”
Mira nodded her head with a delightful expression and took the keys from him. “Thank goodness. I thought she was in danger. My heart nearly leaped out. Hehehe.”
Jack shook his head at the annoying girl and thought it was all her fault before he hurriedly walked in the hunted house direction.
Mira ignored the look he gave her. “Hmph, I’ll only let you be because you’re Clara’s friend,” she said nonchalantly and nimbly carried Lea on her other arm and said carefully, “Babies, auntie is so sorry for spoiling the day. We will come back next time and play so many games, okay?”
The twins nodded their heads understandably and little Lea said, “Don’t worry, Auntie. We’re not mad.” then she kissed her cheek.
Mia also kissed her other cheek and Mira was so delighted, she almost teared up. “Awwwn, I love you sooo much,” she said and happily kissed their cheeks.
Mia then tugged at her arm and asked, “Auntie, will Uncle come back with Mummy?”
“Yes yes, Uncle will soon come back with Mummy. Let’s wait for them in the car.” and she sauntered towards the entrance with the kids, heading to where Jack’s car was parked.
Clara and Carl were still walking silently with tiny smiles on their faces when Clara suddenly spotted Jack from the distance. She waved happily and called out to him. “Jack, I’m here.”
Carl frowned when he saw how she happily waved to the guy and his eyes narrowed.
Jack turned his head when he heard Clara’s voice and he spotted her standing beside a strange man and his expression dimmed. ‘Who is that?’ he thought warily and stride towards them.
When Jack approached them, Carl’s frown deepened. He was the guy he saw her with that day. ‘So she actually has a boyfriend’ he thought, instantly alert.
“Clara, what happened?” Jack asked while giving Carl a scrutinizing look. He sensed a bad vibe from the guy and somehow found him familiar.
Carl also met his gaze with a fierce one without backing down.
Clara noticed the atmosphere between the two guys and was flabbergasted.
“Ehm, Carl this is my friend Jack. Jack, this is Carl,” she said awkwardly with a confused smile.
