Chapter 32: Big Brother’s Company

Clara’s jaw almost dropped while staring at the two girls Mira just called her babies. She quickly regained her composure and gave the two girls a friendly smile. “Hi, nice to meet you.”

“I’m Lucy and Big sister’s favorite,” Lucy gazed at her with sparkling eyes then hugged Mira’s arms.

“Nice to meet you, I’m Gina,” Gina said then glared at Lucy and hugged Mira’s other arm. “And don’t mind her words, I’m Big sister’s favorite.”

Clara laughed at the two girls ’behavior and thought it was no wonder that Mira called them her babies.

“Big Sis, it’s been three years and you didn’t even say goodbye before you left. Do you know how sad I was when I asked brother and he said that you left?” Lucy held Mira’s arm tightly and gazed at her with glossy eyes.

Apart from her brothers, Mira was the only person she considered a sibling because she treated her like a little sister and despite the fact that she was her brother’s friend, she would always scold him whenever he bullied her.

She didn’t know the reason why she left because her brother would not say anything and all she knew was that they had a misunderstanding.

“Yes, Big sis, we were worried that something bad happened to you,” Gina also added sadly.

Clara watched the interaction between the three people in front of her with a puzzled face. She noticed that Mira was not very enthusiastic since the girls arrived and wondered who they were and what kind of relationship they had with Mira. At first glance, she noticed that the girls came from a rich background.

Mira smiled half-heartedly and looked down feeling guilty. She remembered that at that time, she left hastily with a broken heart and the pain of being misunderstood by the one person she had loved wholeheartedly. She looked up at the girls and softly said, “I’m sorry.”

“Big sis, it’s nothing. We’re very happy to see you now and know that you’re alright.” Lucy gave her a cheeky smile and Gina also nodded her head frantically with sparkling eyes.

Mira’s heart melted at the two girls ’sweetness and she let out a soft laugh.” Thank you, girls, you’re the best, “she said and hugged them tightly with a huge smile. Then she remembered her unanswered question and stared at the girls expectantly.

“What did you girls say you’re doing here,” she enquired again.

“Oh, we came to look around, and guess what we found in Big bro’s office?” Lucy said with a mischievous smile.

“Big bro’s office?” Mira was puzzled. She spaced out for a few seconds before a realization suddenly hit her. “What!!!?” she stood up with a jerk and her eyes flew wide.

If this was Big brother’s company, then Zach ‘Oh no.’ She should have seen this coming when she saw the company’s name, however, there was more than one family bearing the surname “Cha” in this country.

“Big sis, don’t tell me you don’t know this is Big bro’s company,” Gina said with a giggle watching her surprised expression.

“Gina, remember that it was built two years ago, so it’s only normal that Big sis doesn’t know,” Lucy muttered while fiddling with the straps of her bag.

Clara watched as Mira’s face turned pale and she also stood up with a worried expression. “Mira, is something wrong?” she went to her side and shook the dumbfounded girl.

“Huh?” Mira broke out of her trance.

“Mira, you don’t look alright, are you sick?” Clara placed her palm on her forehead but found out that her temperature was normal.

“Big sis, are you alright,” Lucy also asked in a worried tone.

Mira shook her head and smiled faintly. “Yes yes, I’m fine.”

It was no wonder she had not seen the CEO since she started working here because Carl was always a busy person.

“Lucy, hurry hurry let’s go back. My mom is calling.” Gina suddenly stood up while holding her phone which was vibrating and turned to Mira then said, “Big sis, we’ll visit you next time. I need to hurry home now.” and she picked up the call while dragging Lucy up. “Hello, mummy…”

Lucy grabbed Mira’s phone which was on the table and switched it on before dialing her number. She saved it and gave the phone back to Mira. “I’ll call you Big sis, oh I can’t wait to tell Big bro, I’m sure he’ll be surprised to find out that you’re working here in his company. Hehehe,” she said cheerfully and turned to Clara. “Bye-bye…” And she rushed behind Gina who was half running out of the cafeteria with her phone placed on her ear.

The table became quiet after the girls left and Clara watched as Mira slumped down on the chair with a helpless look on her face.

“Clara, what do I do?” Mira whispered absentmindedly.

She was lucky that Zach hadn’t found her here, however, if Lucy told her brother that she saw her here then her peaceful days in this company would be over.

Clara was confused by the whole situation. She took Mira’s hands and stared at her with knitted brows. “Mira, calm down… Who are those girls and why are you acting like this?” she asked worriedly. She heard the girls say that this company belonged to their brother who Mira likely knew, but why was her friend’s reaction this big?

Mira dropped her head and softly chuckled. ‘I guess I’m the unluckiest person in the world.’ then she lifted her head and glanced around the cafeteria. “Oh Clara, lunch break is over.”

Clara also looked around and found out that people had already dispersed. She stood up hastily remembering the comics she had to draw. “Don’t worry, Mira. Everything will be alright, okay?” she softly said and patted her friend’s shoulder, noticing that she was not ready to talk about it.

Mira nodded with a faint smile and stood up, then they both left the cafeteria.
