Return of the Alpha Heiress
Chapter 14: A Course to Save Lives
Chapter 14
Aria’s POV
Not do what? Kael must be out of his mind. I didn’t bring up the topic for them to choose for me; I didn’t want their financial support nor did I need it before I could start. I only told them because they are my brothers and would support me with encouraging words.
But they wanted to simulate my mental health because our Mum died from that same sickness? They are just nitwits who didn’t know what they were doing.
Shouldn’t they be happy that I was starting a course to save many lives since they couldn’t save her life then?
Didn’t they manage to find the cure for the sickness after she died? What prompted them to do that? Her death of course.
Nothing was going to stop me, not even Kael who is the elder. Since I had already put it in my mind, and I was going to do it. I was ready to see their reactions, and whatever they would do to me.
“Are you sure this is a good idea?”
Nina asked worriedly, hastening behind me as I was walking so fast. She couldn’t even catch up with me fully, but she kept talking.
“Even you know it is a good idea.”
“Yes, it is. But you should talk to Kael again. They are your brothers, and they must have their reasons. Perhaps they are afraid you would get hurt if…”
“Hello!”
She bumped into me as I halted without notice.
“I have been the leader here for a few weeks already and I already know how these things work. Kael told me as an Alpha leader,”I could do whatever I want to do as long as it would bring a betterment to this pack.”
“Yes, my lady. I just…”
“Are you trying to discourage me too?”
“Absolutely not, my lady. You have my full support.”
Seeing where the argument would lead, Nina dropped the topic after apologizing.
“How do we start setting up the organization now?”
That was the easiest thing. Back at the Silverclaw pack, I have seen so many people there creating one or two organizations and I knew how it worked. I had prayed tirelessly for a day that I would be able to create mine so that I would help poor people like me, and the day finally came.
“When we get to the office, we will discuss it.”
The chauffeur opened the back door for me and after sitting down, I turned to Nina who didn’t look like she would enter the car.
“What are you still waiting for?”
“Uhm…I uhm… I came in a car.”
She pointed at her old Camry parked far away from the mansion’s cars.
“You aren’t going in that with me, right?”
I wasn’t looking down at her car, but she ought to drive in the same car with me since we were headed the same way.
“Get inside now!”
I commanded knowing she wouldn’t get in and would try her way to her car.
“When we return from the office, you could take yours.”
Nina bobbed her head like one obedient pup. She got in, closed the door and we left for the company.
“My lady, you called.”
Alice bowed her head, stealing a glance at Nina who was standing beside me on the left. One thing I noticed with Alice was that she was always envious whenever she saw another lady with me.
I wasn’t her boyfriend. Or is it a girlfriend? I had no intimate relationship with her and would never have one with the same gender as me. Her jealousy meant nothing to me.
“Yes. Check this out.”
I dropped three pieces of paper pinned together on the desk and she gently picked them up.
As she went on to check out the content on the papers, Nina stepped behind me and placed her hands on my shoulders.
“Allow me to massage you, Aria, you must be so tired.”
Yeah, I was and I needed a nice press at that moment. Because Alice was engrossed in what she was doing, she didn’t know what was happening until she lifted her head.
The smile on her face was overtaken by anger.
“What are you doing?”
She dropped the paper on the desk, glaring at Nina.
“You can not do that.”
“Why shouldn’t she?”
She was crossing the limit already. Why would she talk to Nina that way because she was massaging me?
“She is a nobody, Alpha Aria, and you know what that means.”
That provoked me so much because it reminded me of the past. I was treated like trash because I was nobody. I couldn’t even stand where the somebodies sat, I must always kneel.
“Hey!”
Nina released my shoulders.
“I am a nobody, I am a journalist who has won many awards from her company.”
That was my girl! I love it when people stand up for themselves.
“Even though we have no spot in the royal family, my family is well known in this pack for their business. We own two textile companies here, the largest ones.”
“So fucking what? She is an Alpha and you are not even allowed to call her name that way. Show some respect, lady!”
“What if I don’t?”
Nina stepped away from me, rolling up her sleeve, ready for a fight. But not in my presence.
“Alice, your service here is no longer needed. I can see you are always ready to cause trouble.”
Her eyes widened in shock when reality hit her and she went down on her knees, pleading.
“Please, Alpha Aria, do not relieve me of my job. I am sorry for what I did.”
I sighed, shaking my head. What if I utter the word ‘fired’? She wouldn’t have gotten another chance from me because I would not take back my word.
“Nina is my friend, my best friend and I expect you to respect her just as you will respect me.”
“Yes, My lady, I will do just that.”
“And the next time I hear you talking down on anyone or calling them a nobody, know that I won’t take it easy with you. Everyone deserves to be respected no matter their status. Understand?”
“Yes, Alpha Aria.”
Good.
“What is your take on that?”
I pointed at the papers she read earlier.
“It is so good, my lady and I know everyone in any pack who is suffering from that sickness would be so happy that the cure has finally arrived.”
“Yeah. You will summon the person in charge of registering the organization for me so we can discuss the next step.”
“Yes ma’am, I will do that right away.”
She bowed her head and hurried off.
“And you?”
Nina stepped in front of me,
“You will handle the media team after the registration.”
“Really? Omg! Thank you so much!”
“Are you happy with what you have been doing?”
“Of course, Alpha Aria. You have no idea how much I have longed to work for the royal family. Now that my prayers have been answered, I will be able to get closer to…”
She covered her mouth, her eyes rolling in her head nervously.
“Closer to who?”
It can’t be my brothers, right? I have noticed the way she would look at them whenever she came to the mansion to see me. But who among them is she interested in?
“Can I go now? I have to interview someone today.”
Funny. Nina just wanted to get away from me so she would avoid answering the question. She told me earlier that she was out of the office that day and would spend the entire day with me.
“But your car isn’t here. How do you want to go to your client?”
“I will take the public bus.”
Before I could utter a word, Nina was already out the door. Her action revealed she was interested in one of my brothers. That wouldn’t be a problem, but she ought to be careful with them because they looked like they weren’t interested in finding a mate.
A few minutes after Nina had left, Alice returned with the person in charge of the registration. Luckily, it was a lady. She looked so smart in her suit and long black hair.
“Alpha Aria? It is an honor to meet you for the first time since you ascended the throne.”
She bowed her head then took the seat I gestured to her.
“My name is Jacqueline Bosca, but you can call me Jacky.”
“That’s a nice name. So, Jacky, I hope Alice has already given you a hint of why I wanted to see you?”
“Yes, please go to the point, my lady. What type do you want? We have different stages of registering an organization.”
Interesting.
I leaned towards the desk and locked my fingers.
“I am listening.”
She pulled out a document from her handbag and passed it to Alice.
“We have the first stage, that is the base stage. This is for those who don’t have the money to go for the second stage. Then the middle stage for those who can’t afford the last phase. The premium stage is so expensive, but it is the only stage that makes one’s organization stand out.”
Why would I go for the first and the second stage when money wasn’t the problem? I want that organisation to stand out and get recognized across the globe in just a minute.
“How much is it? The last stage?”
“That would be one million grand, my lady.”
I pulled out a check from the drawer, signed it, and passed it to her.
“I want everything to be ready by tomorrow. In addition, do not make this public. Register the organization without breathing a word about it to anyone.”
