Return of the Alpha Heiress
Chapter 7: Jace’s Misfortune
Chapter 7
Aria’s POV
“Check me out,”
I stood in front of the mirror and hovered my hands on my tiny waist.
Thanks to the goddess for blessing me with curves. The tight gown revealed my figure eight so well that even my enemy would want to have a taste of me.
“Are you sure about this?”
Liza asked, her tone hauling a hint of worry.
“Yes,”
I bobbed, turning around to make sure the dress wasn’t ripped anywhere.
Doing that was the only way I could start taking my revenge on Jace and Lana.
Both of them had decided to meet, in my pack, and inside the mansion. What a good opportunity.
“Remember what Kael said earlier,”
She reminded.
I knew, and it was still ringing in my head even as I got ready to go out.
Kael clearly told me to be careful with Lana and I shouldn’t get on her nerves that day.
But I didn’t give a damn.
Provoking her was the only thing stuck on my mind then. Lana was going to account for all the maltreatment she inflicted on me whenever she went to the Silverclaw pack to visit.
I was a tool to her, a servant. Counting the things Lana did to me would only stain my mind.
I shook my head, sighed shortly, and picked up a dusting brush.
Instead of dusting off the excess powder on my face, I held it between my thumb and index finger, beaming at it in delight.
“When would you stop retaining smuty stuff, Aria?”
Liza giggled softly. Her voice rang like a calm sea during autumn.
“When I finally have it,”
“Then grab a dude and practice, you aren’t getting any younger.”
“Oh, please,”
I scoffed, dusting my face.
“Not any guy would have the privilege to go down there, Liza. By now, you should be able to differentiate between…”
“Can we go now?”
She cut me off.
I shrugged my shoulders, picked up my phone from the bed, and hurried out of the room in excitement.
As I walked down the stairs, my heart leapt in bliss. And when I heard Lana’s giggle from the dining area, a smirk appeared on my face.
I walked down the stairs majestically, each step demonstrating poise and elegance.
Seeing them both immersed in a conversation made me wonder what Jace was to Lana.
Back at the Silverclaw pack, I never saw them together, not even for a second. The only person she was always with was Gregory.
What was Lana trying to do?
Could she perhaps have known that Jace was my ex-mate? Then she was trying to get closer to him so she would use him as one of the tools to get to me?
All those thoughts flushed down my head like a cold shower on a summer morning.
“Aria?”
Jace called, his face broadening in a smile. He got up from the chair, ignoring the fact that Lana was sitting there staring at him in outrage.
“What brought you here, Jace? I thought I’d already told you to go back.”
“What are you talking about?”
Lana hissed, signalling to Jace to sit back. Her expression was authoritative, depicting Jace’s embarrassment.
“You know what?”
She got up,
“I am not interested in hearing anything. Can you get out of here, Aria? This meeting doesn’t concern you.”
“No,”
I tilted my head and puckered my lips.
“Excuse me?”
“You heard me, Lana, I said no.”
Lana pinched her lower lip with her teeth, clenching her fingers into a fist.
“I will drag you out of here, Aria!”
“Hey, Lana, where is the respect?”
Jace chipped in, stepping out of the seat.
“Aria is your Apha leader now, and she at least deserves respect from you.”
Hahaha. The fuel he added to the fire made it exploded that he had to stop it from destroying things.
“Aria will never get respect from me!”
She hollered.
“She is a nobody!”
“Stop saying that!”
Jace scowled.
“Aria is a somebody, she owns this pack, do not forget.”
“Why are you supporting her, Jace? I invited you here, but it seems you are trying to win her favor.”
“No, I am not, it’s just that Aria is the lady I am interested in, she is my mate.”
Lana’s eyes snapped wide, and her jaw dropped with a gasp. She stayed that way for a few seconds, her eyes gliding from Jace to me.
“Yes, he is my mate.”
I added, a glint of mischief plastered on my face.
“You guys must be out of your minds to think you can fool me,”
She scoffed at Jace, then turned towards me.
“Jace is the man I love, my fated mate. Get your eyes off him before it is too late for you.”
If Jace was her fated mate as she claimed, then what about Alpha Gregory? What was their relationship?
Wasn’t he the one she was supposed to call her fated mate? There was nowhere in the Silverclaw pack that Lana and he weren’t seen together.
Clubs, hotels, conferences, and a lot more.
And I can’t count the amount of time I saw her on his thigh, riding him in open space.
“You infiltrated my meeting just so you could claim my Jace?”
She pointed at her chest, dropping her head backward as she laughed defeatedly.
So much for her Jace.
What in the world did she even see in Jace to make him hers? The dude was rude and even rejected me at one point.
“Stop talking to Aria that way,”
He frowned at Lana. And to make things worse, he stepped closer to me, wrapped his hand over my shoulder, and pinned my head on his bicep.
I enjoyed every bit of it, especially the part where I saw tears in Lana’s eyes.
“Are you trying to reject me?”
“It seems that way,”
Jace nodded his head unapologetically.
I didn’t blame him because it was in him to reject a girl, just as he did to me.
“Get your head straight, Jace. If you were bewitched by her curves, then you should know they are fake!”
Really? My curves aren’t fake, they are real.
“This?”
His hand slides down to my waist.
“This isn’t fake. Do you want to touch it?”
Lana screamed in frustration. She swung her hands over her head, breathing hard.
“This isn’t over, Aria!”
She stormed out, cussing at me.
Jace chuckled softly,
“Lana is such a baby.”
He shook his head.
“Can we sit down and enjoy all the delicacies here?”
Jace’s hand was still on my waist. And because I didn’t say anything for him to drop his hand, he intentionally let it glide down to my ass.
That brought back memories. How those fools from the Silverclaw pack would rest their hands on my butt, squeezing like it was a loaf of bread.
“Get it off!”
I commanded, my eyes shut.
Jace acted dumb like he didn’t know I was talking to him.
“Are you deaf?”
“Relax, baby. I think we have passed that stage.”
Oh, funny. Just because I allowed him to touch me in front of Lana?
“Just leave already,”
I pointed at the exit door, but he didn’t budge.
“Please, Aria, give me another chance. I promise not to be harsh on you anymore.”
Just because I ascended the Alpha position?
“If you don’t leave, I will call on my brothers and you won’t like what they will do to you.”
“They are my brothers-in-law, they won’t do anything.”
“Little sis? Is everything okay?”
Jace and I turned towards the door at the same time, our eyes meeting Rafe, the mafia lord, His entourages lined up behind him.
I heard Jace’s breath drop, and his hand slipping off my ass.
“Isn’t that Jace? What brought him here?”
He sauntered over, fuming in rage, and grabbed Jace’s collar.
“Didn’t I tell you I would flatten you like a pancake the next time I see you?”
Great!
