The Mischievous CEO Won't Let Me Go
Chapter 33: Everything’s Screwed Up
Chapter 33
“Greg, you have to bring out my friend this instant or I’ll tear you apart,” She screamed and pulled on his pajamas collar.
Greg’s brows settled into a frown and he used one hand to peel her away. “Why don’t you ask that to your friend—”
“Because I can’t reach her on the phone!” Gina cut him off with horror-filled eyes. “D– Don’t tell me she’s not here. Greg bring her out otherwise—”
“You’ll tear me apart.” Greg finished her words with a roll of his eyes. “George.” He glared at his brother who was standing against the door and watching the show amusingly. “I need my beauty sleep.”
George finally moved from his place and held the furious girl. “You’ve seen for yourself, Babe. I told you she isn’t here.”
“But why?” Gina slapped his hands off and sank into confusion. Then her eyes turned red with anger. She was really going to tear him apart.
Both brothers widened their eyes and George jumped away from the crazy girl as she had suddenly brought out a knife.
“You, put that away.” Greg cowered back until his back hit the headboard.
“Because of your stupid pranks.” Gina chuckled with sadness filled eyes while twirling the knife in her fingers. “Because of that, her parents sent her away. And now you’re telling me she isn’t here? Where else is she supposed to be!” She screamed.
“Now, tell me, Greg.” She chuckled. “From where should I start? Is it here?” She leveled the knife across his neck. “Oh, wait I have a better idea.” She laughed again and started tracing the knife southward.
Greg’s attention was not on the girl anymore despite the danger hovering on his body. He only came back to his senses when the knife was close to his torso. Then he swiftly held her wrist. “What did you say just now?” He looked at her with a deep frown.
Gina gave him an angry look then repeated her words. “I said I’ll cut off your—”
“No not that.” Greg shook his head. “What did you say before that?”
“I said that you’re a crazy jerk who only knows how to ruin girls life,” Gina spat out.
Greg tilted his head and an uncontrollable chuckle escaped his lips. She didn’t even say that. However, he needed not to ask further. He was sure he had heard her right.
George also got out of his shock and also frowned. Without wasting time, he returned to the bed and used the opportunity that his brother was holding her in place then quickly snatched the knifefrom her hand.
“Give it back!” Gina snapped and went after him. But he tossed the knife to a corner and held her waist. “Relax, Babe… Did you say she had a fight with her parents?”
“Worse than that!” Gina gave him a glare while trying to calm her anger. “Her parents are furious and her father threw her out of the house.” She sniffed and looked between the shocked guys. “You know what, I shouldn’t have co-operated with you and let you carry her away.”
Gina lowered her head. But she had no choice. The moment her friend appeared on the stage with Cedric, that basterd, she knew her fears had come true. From the girl’s body language and how she had paced out most of the times or lowered her head throughout the event, Gina immediately knew that her intuition about Cedric was right.
That was why she had been ecstatic when the two guys appeared, and happily helped them escaped with her through the elevator which led to the carpark, while the place was in chaos. She knew the hotel inside and out as it belonged to Lucy’s big brother because they had both toured it many times. The engagement had been successful destroyed, who knew it would lead to this, it was partly her fault.
Without struggling further, she released herself from George’s hold and staggered out of the room. Now, where was she going to start looking for her? Her phone did not also go through. Where could the girl have gone to in this vast city?
Now that she was out there alone without her private guards, Gina hoped her friend would be alright. She had to look for her, even though she had to turn the whole city upside down.
She got into her car and zoomed out of the neighborhood.
Back inside the house.
Greg wiped his face in frustration and he let out a chuckle. So it had come to that. Was that what she was afraid of? Her parents wrath? He couldn’t understand what a mess the world is.
He never regretted whatever he did and definitely not this one. The only thing he could feel in his heart at the moment was pity. Pity for a girl who couldn’t stand up for herself and also for a family that couldn’t understand the enormity of a doom they were pushing their daughter into.
He glanced sideways at his brother who was probably thinking the same thing.
“Well. Everything’s screwed up.” George ran a hand through his hair then turned to leave. But he paused as if contemplating something and turned back again. “Shouldn’t we search for her?
Greg remained silent. He was done butting into this messed up situation. Besides, he also had a lot on his plate. And also, wouldn’t he be going against himself? She had made it clear she didn’t need his help. “It’s none of my business,” he replied then got down the bed.
George’s eyes widened slightly before he frowned. “But—”
“I don’t have feelings for her, if that is what you’re thinking about,” Greg said, trying to make his voice sound as carefree as possible. He very well knew what his brother was driving at.
The fact that he had destroyed her engagement didn’t count. He could do that a dozen of times to any girl that needed that. And he kept his promise of taking responsibility. Hadn’t she be the one that had said he was the cause in the first place?
George looked into his eyes with that smirk Greg knew so well. His brother wasn’t buying that and he tried so hard to keep himself from rolling his eyes.
He took another look at his bed which was a bunch of mess then walked past the guy and entered the bathroom.
“Our new assistants are on their way,” George called out to him and he scoffed. Why did he have a feeling that his brother was excited about their new workload?
