I Married My Ex-fiance’s Father

Chapter 19.

Now that my head is obstructed from all angles, I need to think of something as fast as I can.

If I talked to Fredrick to have Harris released, he would heed to my word,

But I can't do that without plotting what to do with him when he is out.

Also, Jessy won't divorce him.

Hmmm.

This is difficult.

My eyes darted to the estate document on the table and an idea crept into my head.

What if…

This will surely work.

Harris,

Get ready to cry your eyes out.

I picked the document and went to see Jessy.

She was crying on the bed when I entered the room.

And when she saw me, she stopped crying and wiped her face.

“Blair?”

She stepped down from the bed.

“Jessy?”

I stretched out the document to her.

“These are the papers of the estate Harris wants.”

She made a motion to take it, but I stepped back.

“I will only hand over these papers to Harris if…”

“Please do not say I should divorce him. I love him so much.”

Hahahaha

Silly,

I knew she wouldn't accept that, so I came up with another plan.

“You will do whatever I want in this house if you want Harris out of the prison.”

She lifted a brow.

“What do you mean?”

It’s simple.

“Be my maid,”

She gasped, eyes widening in shock.

“Do whatever I want in this house, and watch me bring your husband out of the prison.”

She sniffles.

“Are you sure you won’t go back on your words?”

Pfft.

Why should I go back on my words?

It is I who will benefit from all this.

“And please,”

She held my hand like a helpless hobo.

“Do not order me to divorce Harris.”

We shall see about that.

But now,

I need to make her my servant,

Then I can talk to Fredrick to have Harris released if she does her job well.

“When will Harris be released?”

She asked as I was leaving the room.

“When I see you're competent.”

For two days, Jessy did all I asked her to do,

And for once, she didn’t complain.

The only thing she said to me was when Harris would be released from prison.

Even Fredrick was surprised that Jessy was being nice to me.

He thought she was doing that purposefully because she wanted me to put up a word for her,

He didn’t know she was doing all that because I asked her to.

And on the third day, I decided to go see Harris in prison after spending more than five days there.

Was he surprised to see me?

Of course not,

It didn’t show on his face when he was brought out to talk to me.

“I should have fired that gun at you when I had the chance.”

He said after the cops had left.

Funny,

Does he even know the consequences of killing a person?

“You will be sentenced to death the moment you kill me.”

He scoffed.

“Do you think I will be caught? No way. Now tell me, bitch, what brought you here?”

Tsk tsk tsk

“To help you.”

He hissed loudly.

“Help me?”

Then he burst into laughter.

“I can never take any help from you, Blair. Who do you think you are, Father Christmas?”

He laughed again.

“Okay then.”

I picked up the document I had placed on the desk and stood up.

“I think you prefer to decompose in this prison. And guess what? Fredrick won’t bring you out of here unless I interfere.”

He looked at the document, and I did well by letting him see what that was.

“What help can you render?”

He asked, his eyes still fixed on the document.

“Never mind, you don’t need it.”

I made to leave, but he stood up and grabbed my hand.

“I need it.”

Pfft.

“Please get me out of here.”

He pleaded.

“Didn’t you say you don’t need my help?”

He sighed.

“I didn’t mean that, please help me get out of here.”

Hahahaha

Okay.

I returned to the chair and placed the document on the desk.

“Are you ready to do anything I ask you to if I bring you out of here?”

His eyes were fixed on the document, and he looked like he could pick it up and run with it.

Well,

That is what he wants,

The estate.

“Yes, just mention it.”

I passed the document to him and folded my arms.

“This will return to your hand if you can divorce Jessy.”

His eyes widened in shock.

“I can’t do that.”

I knew it!

These fools.

“Then it is settled.”

I drew back the document, but he held my hand.

“I will think about it.”

“No, I need an answer now.”

He sighed deeply, lowered his head and after a few seconds, he lifted his head again.

“Yes.”

Like seriously?

Wow!

That was so fast.

Well, I know Harris doesn’t love her the way she loves him,

“Get me out of here, hand over the estate to me, and I will divorce Jessy.”

Hmmm.

Okay.

“Then it is settled.”

I took the document back in my bag and left.

“How did it go?”

Jessy asked as soon as I stepped out of the car.

She must have been waiting outside since I left.

“What?”

I asked her, pretending I didn’t know what she meant.

“You went to see my husband. Did he agree to do whatever you want?”

Wait, what?

How did she know I was going to see Harris?

Something isn’t adding up here.

Is it a good thing that I allowed Jessy to come close to me?

I think she is spying on me while I think she is doing the things I want.

“How did you know I was going to the prison?”

She lowered her head.

“When I asked the maid earlier on, she said she heard you speaking on the phone.”

With who?

That is a lie.

I made a call to no one.

Hmmm,

Jessy.
