The Billionaire’s Obsession
Chapter 15
Chapter 17
But why Mr. Hawthorn was worried about that girl surprised him. Did he have any relationship with her?
He wanted to know but there was no way he would ask that question.
“Mr. Noah?”
Sterling broke the silence, leaning on the desk. Mr. Noah lowered himself to listen to Sterling.
“I remember you want to be part of my company. Am I right?”
Mr. Noah nodded his head affirmatively. “Yes, Mr. Hawthorn. I’ve been going there countless time,” he added.
Sterling nodded his head. He already knew that.
“What if I become part of your company instead? I mean to become a shareholder here.”
Mr. Noah’s eyes widened. Was he dreaming of it was reality? Something he couldn’t even request because of how big it was?
“Are you serious right now, Mr. Hawthorn?” He was so excited that he didn’t know how to even react.
“Mr. Hawthorn doesn’t go back on his words. The choice is left for you to decide, Mr. Noah. Would you accept the offer, or you wouldn’t?”
Assistant Mike asked him. Why wouldn’t he accept that huge offer? Unless he was sick in the brain.
“Of course I accept, thank you so much Mr. Hawthorn. I’ll have the contract prepared right away.”
Mr. Noah turned to leave the office but Assistant Mike held him back.
“Not so fast, Mr. Noah.” Mr. Noah lifted a brow.
What was next? Shouldn’t they be talking about the contract right away?
“We’ll prepare the contract and give it to you after you’ve voted Vivienne Montague in the next meeting.”
Mr. Noah scratched his neck confused on what to say.
He wouldn’t betray Sabrina, but he wouldn’t want to lose that big opportunity too.
Having Mr. Hawthorn in one’s company was the best thing ever.
“We’ll leave now, Mr. Noah. Till we meet that day.” Assistant Mike bowed to him.
Sterling stood up from the chair and Mr. Noah bowed to him too.
Was he using his power to force him because he knew he wouldn’t decline that offer?
Mr. Noah sighed deeply, tapping his head worriedly.
“What should I do now.” He was confused. He loosened his tie because that was such a tough decision for him to make.
( A dream come true)
Sterling and Assistant Mike went to all the companies written on the paper that day.
Some of them gave them their worse to vote for Vivienne before they left while others didn’t.
Those were the ones that has a strong connection with Sabrina.
Doing what Sterling was asking them was just like they were betraying Sabrina.
But they wouldn’t want to miss that great opportunity with Sterling Hawthorn. He was a rare fish which would never be caught again when it left.
“Mr. Hawthorn, trust me. Those people would come running to you.” Assistant Mike assured him.
Sterling already knew that. He didn’t need to be worry about that again.
His dream to become her sponsor was finally coming through and he would see that it came through.
“About that lady… Sebastian’s wife. Have you found her?” Sterling asked Assistant Mike.
Assistant Mike has been trying to avoid that question from Sterling because he didn’t know where he was going to find her.
Shouldn’t he just leave her alone? After all, she was still Sebastian’s wife even though she has left his home.
“Pardon me, master. I have been busy with lots of works from the company that I forgot about it.”
He apologized. Sterling sighed inside. Why was finding her so difficult like that? He thought it would be a piece of cake but it wasn’t.
He thought by using his power and all sort of things, everything would be easy. He even had her tracked but she couldn’t be found.
“You know the actress’s manager? Bring him to the company tomorrow.” Sterling instructed.
“Yes, master.” Assistant Mike bowed his head.
If he can’t find Sebastian’s wife, then he would focus on the actress for now.
And when things finally turned out the way he wanted it, then he would continue looking for his mysterious woman.
----
Few days later, Assistant Mike brought Marcus to the company.
When he went to get Marcus, he was scared at first because he thought Mr. Hawthorn was going to deal with him for the sin he didn’t commit.
He was scared because he has never for once stand in front of Sterling before.
The only time he saw Sterling in person was on that day when they were having a meeting with all the partners of the industry.
His attention was on Sterling who didn’t say anything that day. Marcus in his mind prayed that Sterling would help him in getting Vivienne back in to the industry.
But he didn’t know how he was going to approach Sterling with that, not when he was already scared of him.
“Mr. Hawthorn, he’s here.” Assistant Mike announced.
Sterling lifted up his head from the paper he was working on in front of him. He glanced at Marcus who was sweating in that cold temperature and then at Assistant Mike.
“Mr. Marcus, master wants me to bring you to the waiting room.”
Mr. Marcus was surprised and wondered how Assistant Mike understood what Sterling meant by just glancing at him.
He has heard rumors that Assistant Mike was the only one that understand Sterling’s sign language.
But he has never seen it with his eyes before until that day.
Marcus bowed his head and followed Assistant Mike out of the office.
Sterling dropped the pen he was holding the moment they left and just as he was about to stand up from the chair, his phone beeped.
He picked it up to look at the caller but it was Isabella.
“What does she wants now.” Sterling dropped the phone on the desk and left the office.
He wouldn’t go with his phone, she was only going to distract him from talking to Marcus.
“Mr. Hawthorn?” Marcus stood up from the chair and bowed his head.
Assistant Mike was no longer in the room again so, Marcus wondered how he was going to communicate with Mr. Hawthorn.
Sterling gestured to him to sit down and he sat down on the chair, looking at Sterling.
Sterling slouched back on the sofa, looking at Marcus. He was communicating with him but Marcus just stared blankly.
“Uhm Mr. Hawthorn, I… I don’t understand what you are doing,” he stammered nervously.
Sterling looked around and that was when he knew Assistant Mike wasn’t in the room with them.
He sighed inside. Those were the moments he didn’t like saying things out. The moment he would prefer Assistant Mike should be around.
“Well…” Sterling pinned his ring finger on his chin, looking at Marcus.
Marcus felt so uncomfortable that he was looking at him that way.
He was so scared and just wanted to leave his presence.
“About Vivienne Montague…” Marcus heaved a sigh of relief when Sterling finally mentioned Vivienne’s name.
But why was he talking about her? Maybe he want him to take down his request. Marcus thought.
“I want to be her sponsor.” He lifted up his face, revealing his enlarged pupils.
Mr. Hawthorn, sponsoring Vivienne? What a great opportunity for him.
He was shocked because he never expected anyone would want to sponsor Vivienne again. And to say the person that want to sponsor her is the whole Mr. Hawthorn?
“M… Mr. Hawthorn, are you for real right now? You want to be her sponsor? Like, you want to… I mean you…”
Marcus couldn’t form any sentence out of excitement.
Mr. Hawthorn sponsoring Vivienne? What a dream come true.
Back then, Marcus would always ask the people that offered to sponsor Vivienne why they wanted to do that.
But for Mr. Hawthorn, no need asking him those questions. It was not necessary now that Vivienne was finding her way back to the industry.
“Thank you so much Mr. Hawthorn, I’m so happy right now that someone as powerful as you want to sponsor Vivienne.”
Marcus bowed his head continuously.
If only he knew the kind of likeness Sterling has for Vivienne, Marcus wouldn’t have been thanking him.
But one thing was still standing on the way, the vote.
“Mr. Hawthorn?” Marcus face turned in to a sad one.
“We still have to vote for her return and majority of the partners of the industry doesn’t want her back…”
“There’s this new actress who’s making waves in the movie industry now, Sabrina Vanguard. They are all sponsoring her and…” Sterling waved his hand, interrupting him.
“They are taken care of,” he said.
Marcus didn’t understand what he meant by that but he didn’t ask further.
“Do not pass this information to her or anyone else, understand?” Marcus nodded his head.
“Yes, Mr. Hawthorn.” He bowed his head.
As Marcus was leaving the company, he couldn’t help but hum in excitement.
The most influential person in the city, sponsoring Vivienne? That was so mind blowing.
( You ignored my call on purpose)
Marcus phone started ringing and when he looked at the caller, it was Vivienne.
That was the fourth time she would be calling him that day but he kept ignoring her call.
At that moment, he wanted to answer the call and give her the good news but decided to just let it be.
If he should tell her at that moment, he didn’t know how she was going to react.
Of course she would be so happy but wouldn’t it be too early as the vote hasn’t even commenced?
He turned off his phone and entered the car then drove out of the company.
He didn’t go straight to the industry, he went to a restaurant to treat himself to a wonderful meal for the good news.
Someone he wished he could talk to, to sponsor Vivienne was the one that called him that he want to sponsor her?
He would never forget a day such as that in his entire life.
----
Isabella threw her phone on the bed after the beeping stopped.
That was the fifth time she was calling Sterling but he ignored her call.
Isabella was already getting tired of his attitude. But she just can’t leave him, she loves him a lot and won’t even think of doing that.
That was the only opportunity she has left. If she should leave Sterling at that moment, then she wouldn’t even get to step in to his house again.
“Is this how your master treats people?” Isabella asked Assistant Li who was standing beside her in her room.
When she was calling him with his number that she has earlier on and he didn’t pick, she decided to call Assistant Li to ask him if there was another number Sterling use.
But he doesn’t use another number aside the one she has.
But why then does he keep ignoring her call? Wasn’t he even afraid that something might have happened back home that she was calling him?
“But Isabella, why are you calling him like something happened?” Assistant Li asked her because he was confused.
The way Isabella was acting, it was as if something terrible has happened in the house.
“Of course something happened. I want to know what he wants for dinner that’s why I’ve been calling him,” she gasped.
“Oh, dinner?” Assistant Li nodded his head and then shook his head again.
He couldn’t just understand why Isabella was acting that way.
She can go ahead to make dinner for him without asking him what he wants.
“Don’t say anything again, I want to make what he wants.” she waved him out of the room.
Assistant Li shrugged his shoulders before leaving the room.
He already knew Isabella and the things she was capable of doing.
Isabella and him were so close the times she was coming to the house to stay.
She was the same age with him and they were just like friends.
