Return of the Alpha Heiress
Chapter 22: Attacked
Chapter 23
Aria’s POV
That was so scary.
Lying to Kael wasn’t an easy task, he nearly made me want to run away from there. Fortunately, he didn’t push it further and let me go away.
After all, we were still upset with each other over my eargerness to go ahead with the organization.
Staring at the blood stain on the fur carpet, my mind wandered off to that moment. What I felt was an intense pain crushing my bones and organs.
My saliva tasted so bitter, like I had taken a poison. Then blood started coming out from my mouth.
That wasn’t Damien’s doing because all the things he did never worked except for one thing; transferring me back to my office like nothing happened.
Could I have ate food containing poison?
I don’t think anyone would be so bold to poison me unless they are tired of having their heads on their shoulders.
‘Let’s be careful of what you consume from now, Aria. I was so scared and it was so painful.’
Of course it was. If I had felt the intensity of the pain, then Liza wouldn’t be an exception. Even though I haven’t let her out yet, and although she can’t do anything on her own yet like healing me, or powerful enough to stop some things, she still feel pain when I do.
‘Can we focus on getting back what belongs to you instead of Lana’s obsession?’
Yea, she was right. But only when Lana isn’t distracting me can I figure out a way to get my wolf out and become one hundred percent werewolf.
“Sure,”
I forced a smile, stepped into a jumpsuit over a sleeveless white shirt after freshing up and left the room.
“Clean my room,”
I ordered a servant while going down the stairs.
“And why would she clean your room?”
Lana’s annoying voice rang in my ear.
Ignoring her was the best thing to do at that moment because I was still upset about what I found out she was trying to do.
And I did, but she followed me to the living room to annoy me further.
“I sent her on an errand first,”
She snapped, hands on her waits.
Still, I ignored her. If I knew she had sent the servant on an errand, I wouldn’t have told her to clean my room.
“Do you think you can make others do as you want because you are the Alpha leader?”
I wanted to ignore her again, but my mouth was too sharp to stay still.
“Of course, Lana. Isn’t that the reason why you want to be the Alpha leader yourself? So you can order anyone around?”
“That’s not true. I want to be one because I deserve it and because I will be the perfect leader.”
As if waiting for that opportunity, she stepped forward, blocking my way.
“Looking at the bright side, am I not the perfect fit for that position? I am powerful, and I have a beautiful, strong wolf who can take down anyone powerful…”
“Including Kael?”
Hearing Kael’s name, she frowned.
“Do not change the topic, maniac!”
Well, I would show her how a maniac behaves.
Before she could utter another statement, my palm had connect with her cheek.
“Perfect. Now you have my finger prints on the both of your cheeks.”
Lana screamed, holding her cheek. Didn’t she say she was strong and powerful? Why screamed over a slap?
“Know your place, Lana. As the Alpha leader, I have the right to stop any servant from working for you. If you are not careful with me, you will find yourself crawling on my knees!”
That warning got into her head because Lana didn’t say another word. She turned around and stomped on the stairs.
‘Lana won’t let this slide.’
“Then she can bring it on!”
“Alpha, watch out!”
Before I could turn to my back fully, a huge silver wolf with black stripes running down her back was flying in the air, towards me. And before I could react, her paws landed on me, sending me straight to the floor.
My head hit the center table, and as she stood two legs on my chest, her fierce red eyes stared into mine like fireballs. As she breath, smoke came out of her nostrils, and when she howled, her cannines were as sharp as a thorn.
I trembled beneath her, fearing for my life. Never had I ever been tortured by a wolf, I’d only heard of the tragic stories behind it.
Her paws alone that were on my chest was so hard like I was being pushed into the ground.
“I am going to kill you!”
She growled at me as she tried to push me to my grave. Every second, she was transferring her energy to her legs on my chest.
“Lana!”
Rafe screamed, then his footsteps followed.
I knew at that moment that Lana would return to her senses, but I didn’t want her to step off me just like that, she must do something that would put her in trouble with my brothers.
The things I had learned about wolves during my stay in moonclaw pack flooded my head. I knew that they would come in handy that way.
Knowing how aggressive they get when pierced, I used all the strength left in me, pulled out the pin I’d put in my hair and dug it in her paw.
She screamed, raised her legs up high and before Rafe could get to us, she had kicked me in the head.
My vision blurred, then my ears started picking up noises from a distance.
“You killed her!”
“What is happening?”
“Lana let out her wolf and attacked Aria!”
“What!”
“We are going to kill you if anything happen to our sister!”
Someone scooped me into his arms, I didn’t know who that was, but it definitely wasn’t Kael.
“Get the car ready!”
“Someone should call Kael!”
That was the last thing I heard before passing out. And when I opened my eyes, Kael’s hazel eyes were fixed on me.
“I will kill Lana for attacking a defenceless person!”
