Chapter 51: Finally Wolfed Out

Aria’s POV

With a racing heart, I veered towards the parking lot cursing the Redmoon pack for being stupid and wicked. Meanwhile, didn’t Jace assure me that the Redmoon would never trespass my authority again?

Why on earth would they abduct someone innocent because they were targeting me?

I hadn’t even reached the parking lot when Kael’s convoy drove inside the mansion. Seeing me upset, he got down before the car was parked and held my shoulders.

“What’s wrong?”

He asked, staring deep into my eyes as if he was finding meaning to my problem.

“Did someone hurt you?”

Of course, someone did hurt me, they provoked me.

“I just received a call from my secretary now saying Alissa’s whereabouts have been found…”

“Do not worry,”

He interrupted, smiling.

“I am already dealing with the situation. Alissa will be back in one piece.”

That brought relief to my soul.

Since that was settled, talking to him about the current situation on the ground regarding myself was the next. Unfortunately, I had no idea how to start the conversation without looking like a clown.

“What’s on your mind?”

He asked as we headed inside the mansion.

Since I had no choice but to let him know my request, I inhaled deeply, exhaled, and stopped walking. Kael stopped too, folded his arms, smiling as he stared at me in amusement.

“What’s the big deal, sis? You look like a mountain is weighing heavily on your chest.”

Absolutely! He was correct. That was one of the things I liked about Kael, being able to know someone is in a dilemma, or a situation.

“Teach me how to wolf out.”

I puked without a second of hesitation. Well, it wasn’t bad starting the conversation that way.

“Wait a second…”

He released his arms, surprised all over his face.

“Are you feeling like your wolf wants to shift?”

I nodded, then his face brightened up instantly.

“You aren’t kidding, right?”

So funny. Why would I joke with something as serious as that when I literally knew that my being able to wolf out was the best thing that could ever happen to them?

“I need to get the rest.”

As he reached for his pocket to get his phone, I held his hand, stopping him.

“What if we take them by surprise?”

“Come on, sis. They have been dying to see this day.”

I knew that but it was my first time and I was nervous.

“You will be there so why not just do it without them?”

Kael hesitated for a while looking at me as if contemplating whether he should follow my decision or not.

“That’s how I want it to be and nothing else.”

I commanded, keeping my voice as calm as possible. Eventually, he gave in because he knew he wouldn’t be able to change my mind over what I want for myself.

“Go change into a more comfortable dress and meet me at the garden.”

The way he said that sent shivers running down my spine.

“Why the garden? Why not my room?”

I mean, wouldn’t it be better if it were secretive?

“We need a huge space, Aria.”

“Why?”

“So the pressure wouldn’t be too much on you.”

That was scary.

“I don’t get it.”

Instead of getting upset, Kael just sighed and held my right hand.

“It is a bit painful, dear, but with me by your side, everything will be alright.”

I wanted to change my mind at that moment but couldn’t. If it was time to let the wolf out, then enduring the pain would be worth it. I had to let her out so she would feel seen too.

“By the way, we are in luck because today is the full moon day so go get ready and meet me at the garden when the sky turns dark.”

I bobbed, forcing a smile. But first things first,

“No one must be there.”

He nodded before I left.

I spent the entire seven hours preparing for the big occasion by surfing the net, reading articles about wolfing out, and also some documentaries. However, nothing I read or heard calmed my mind. They all ended their words with ’everyone feels a different pain”. What did that even mean? They could have just ended it with some words of encouragement.

“Are you traveling?”

Damien startled me. I didn’t know when he entered the room as I was so lost in my thoughts.

“Of course not.”

I chuckled, trying as much as I could to hide my nervousness.

“Your room?”

He pointed at my bed, one brow raised in surprise.

Well, my room was a mess. Just because I was looking for ‘something comfortable’ as Kael had mentioned, I littered the whole room with everything in my closet, especially the bed which looked like a thrift store.

“Oh, that. I will clean it up later.”

“No!”

That really scared me. There was no need to yell that way.

“The maids will do it.”

He closed the door, giving me room to let out the breath I was holding in my lungs. Thank goodness he didn’t see the video I was watching.

As I left the room to go meet Kael at the garden at night, my heart kept pounding in my chest like it was going to burst out. I was so scared as if I was heading to my doom. Worst of all, Liza had been nowhere to be found since I started watching the documentaries. Perhaps she was also scared but decided to let me deal with it alone.

“Are you set?”

Kael’s voice jolted me in the hallway. He was wearing a long-sleeved transparent neutral shirt that hugged his body, and knee-length trousers. In his left hand was a medium-sized paper bag, and a bottle of water in the other hand. He looked like someone going on an exercise except with the paper bag.

“You are dressed comfortably.”

He chuckled at the oversized long gown I was wearing. I had ordered it that same day when I couldn’t find anything like that to wear in my closet.

As we headed to the garden, Damien’s shadow in his room braced my face. We wanted to do that secretly but they were all home which piqued my curiosity.

“They will find out.”

Kael shook his head, placing the paper bag on the wooden bench surrounded by flowers of all kinds.

“They won’t. The whole garden is covered.”

I looked up and true to his word, it was as if we were in another universe of flowers. The only space visible above was where the full moon could be sighted.

“Now come to me.”

He stretched out his hands for me which I didn’t hesitate to hold.

“I don’t need to hold your hand, but just to reassure you.”

I nodded.

“To let out your wolf without feeling much pain, you must only think of the good thing that has ever happened to you, maybe your moment with the person you love, which I know you…”

His words trailed off as I dived into the world of imagination. To him, no man was in my heart, but Jace was. And if what transpired between us during the day would ease my pain, then that was it.

“Aria!”
