Chapter 50: To Just Be a Leader

Aria’s POV

Jace wiped off the blood stain on his lips, grinning in mischief.

“Aria Black, you are now the Supreme Alpha’s mate.”

‘Yes!!!’

Liza let out a loud, excited scream, jumping and wagging her tail.

‘Finally!’

That was sick! I wasn’t ready for that. No, I didn’t need a Mate. I wanted to be alone, to just be an Alpha who ruled her pack members. Why would he mark me without seeking my consent?

“What is your problem?!”

I pushed him away, glaring at him.

“But…”

“No buts! Just keep quiet! You should have just…”

He placed his fingers on my lips, stopping me from talking.

“Relax, Aria. I really love you so much and I promise to never betray you. For you, I can turn the whole kingdom upside down…”

That was the exact thing my brothers said to me the first time we met and they have never gone back on their words, they didn’t look like they would stop doing what they promised me and it made me wonder if Jace meant what he said.

What if he goes back on his words one day? Maybe there is something he saw in me that made him mark me? What if it’s my position that he was after? I was once a weak omega whose identity came into the spotlight later in life. What if he only wants to strip me of my title?

“Just go.”

I sighed deeply, sat down, and held my head.

“But I must tend to your wound, I can’t just leave you like this.”

When I didn’t answer him or exchange any other words with him, Jace left the office. But after a few minutes, he returned, holding a paper bag. He placed it on the desk in front of me, blew me a kiss, winked, and chuckled softly.

“Can we finish what we started some other time?…”

He paused, rubbed his chin, licked his lips, and continued.

“When you are convenient.”

The way he was behaving annoyed me so much that I couldn’t resist throwing a fountain pen at him. He laughed softly and left the office.

‘He is so cute.’

Liza chuckled softly, purring. Yeah he was, I loved the way he was flirting, and everything we just did. But marking me was out of the question. He shouldn’t have done that all of a sudden. If only I knew that he would do that, I would have controlled myself from getting in the mood.

Sighing deeply, I peered into the bag on the desk, but there was nothing in it except a small round box. When I picked it up and opened it, there was a heart-shaped diamond ring inside.

‘Is that an engagement ring?’

Liza asked, stretching her neck like she wasn’t seeing it enough.

‘That is so beautiful. Put it on, Aria.’

“Whoa! Relax, girl.”

Not so fast. I wouldn’t just put on a ring Jace gave me. What if there was something in it that would turn me into something else if I put it on?

“Just slide it into your finger, there is nothing to be scared of. I can smell good ones and trust me, Jace is a good person. He even marked us which makes him our mate.’

That took me by surprise because as far as I knew, my wolf had no ability. How then did she figure out that Jace was a good one?

‘Remember what we went through hours ago?’

I remembered that vividly. The situation we found ourselves in where I woke up with a new transformation. Remembering that struck an important thing in my head. Could it be that Liza’s ability was awakened by that incident?

“Wait a second…”

I put down the ring box, my eyes wide in confusion.

“Can we wolf out?”

I asked her, not knowing why.

‘Trying won’t hurt. I feel like we can do it, Aria.’

Liza’s tone was filled with excitement as she said that. I was full of joy too. If I could wolf out, then that would be the end of my weakness. I had been training my wolf for months since I returned to the Bloodmoon Pack, so things would just be so easy for both of us.

I sprang to my feet, my heart beating in anticipation as I headed to the door to leave the office. I was so desperate to try letting Liza out, my mind was filled with the eagerness to see her. However, I stopped in my tracks when the reality hit me.

“How does one let out their wolf for the first time?”

Even Liza seemed confused about it. None of us knew because we’ve never seen anyone let their wolves out for the first time in front of us. The only moments we witnessed the wolfing out were when they got provoked by me and tried to teach me a lesson: just like Lana that day.

‘Kael can help.’

Yes, Kael. He would be more than willing to help. But how would I be sure that I wouldn’t make a fool out of myself in front of him? What if Liza isn’t due to come out yet?

Nevertheless, I didn’t let those negative thoughts weigh down my mind. Instead, I turned the door handle and left the office.

With the way desperation was circulating in my mind, I didn’t mind embarrassing myself in front of him. After all, just as Liza had said, trying won’t hurt.

Kael wasn’t home when I arrived at the mansion, he was still at the company dealing with some pack affairs. None of the brothers were either, so I was left wandering around, thinking of what to do next.

If I wanted to, I could just go ahead and try it out myself then surprise them later on, but making a terrible mistake was what I was running from.

Since Kael was an expert, he could just guide me.

“Alpha Aria, your attention is needed at the company. We have a report about Alissa’s whereabouts.”

That was the information I had waited to hear while still at the company, not when I was occupied with another situation.

“I am currently busy.”

“But it is important, the pack that is holding her in custody is the Redmoon pack.”

What! Them again?
