The Billionaire’s Surrogate
Chapter 100 (WORST CHILD)
Chapter 100
“After your husband died, you told me you were going for a business trip. Do you remember before you left, I told you, you were pregnant but you told me no? You returned home like someone who gave birth but you told me you didn’t. Evelyn, I’ve been waiting for this day to come, I knew that the kid will come back to you someday. I can’t believe you made them became Servants in the house.”
“Oh God, what have I done to deserve this type of a child.” Grandma patted her chest in tears. “Evelyn, you are the worst child a mother will never pray for. I would have curse you long ago but I decided to forgive you. Evelyn, apologize to them.”
Everyone including the twins turned to Evelyn thinking she would apologize to them like Grandma has instructed her. But Evelyn stood on her feet, looked at everyone and cleaned her tears.
“If I am to apologize to these kids or anyone, then I prefer to die.” She smiled painfully. She looked at Harry “I don’t regret everything I did, I’ll never apologize. I know I did many things but I don’t regret any of them. I rather die than to have myself in shame.” She turned to leave but paused.
“Harry, you will be blamed and tortured after I did. They will serve as a punishment for betraying me, for falling in love with this b**tch and for allowing these rats stay here.” Grandma didn’t understood what she meant by those words but she knew she was referring to Emily and the twins as b**tch and rats.
Evelyn went to her room and locked the door from inside.
“Harry, did you know anything about this?” Harry sighed deeply and walked away. Grandma looked at Naomi and Michael and shook her head. “You can go to your rooms now.” The twins stood up too and left the living room leaving Emily and Grandma.
“Emily, I’m pained for having a child like Evelyn. If I knew she would turned out like this, I would have disowned her.” Grandma cleaned the tears on her face. “Who knew she has kids she has been hiding from us. What did the kids did to her to deserve that from her? Evelyn doesn’t qualify to be a mother.”
Emily sat beside her and patted her back softly. She wondered what happened that made Grandma found out about that and asked the questions. “I thought if I kept an eye on her, she would change her way but I was wrong.” She shook her head.
“Grandma, do not cry. The good things is, we now know that the twins are her kids and we would take care of them even though she doesn’t.”
That day, the house became silent. Even Jeff didn’t cry as if he knew what had happened. Evelyn didn’t step out of her room and the rest that came out didn’t say a word to each other.
Grandma complained of headache that night. She told Emily her head was aching as if it had been hit by a hard object. Emily helped took her BP but her blood was high. She was given her medication and Emily covered her with a blanket as she complained of cold too.
“We will go to the hospital tomorrow,” Emily said adjusting the blanket on her. “Alright, my legs are so numb too. I don’t think I can stand on my feet,” she said to Emily.
“It would come back to normal tomorrow, it’s just as a result of the shock. I know how hard it is but you have to endure it Grandma.” Emily rubbed her palm. “You are right. I just wish this headache can go.” Grandma closed her eyes and sighed deeply.
“Good night, I’ll come back as early as possible,” Emily smiled at her and left. She looked at Evelyn’s room and shook her head Disappointedly. “She doesn’t want to apologize and she doesn’t regret anything that has happened. Well it’s a good thing she said that in front of everyone.”
E opened the door to her room and entered. She leaned her back on the door and shook her head with a deep sighed.
“What do by Harry would be the one to be punished if she died? Whatever she means, I’ll always be there for Harry and no one will blame him for anything. And if she was talking about their father that she killed, it wasn’t Harry’s fault.” She went to the bed and lay down
Next morning, the whole house echoed with the scream from one of the room in the house. Emily ran outside and wondered where the screaming was coming from. Harry too was out at the same time Emily ran out.
“What happened?” Emily asked him but he too didn’t know what was happening. “Help!” Came the voice again. They discovered where the voice came from and together, they ran inside Evelyn’s room.
Evelyn lay on the floor bare footed, her hair was spread on the floor while some of it covered her face. Her hands and legs were spread and in her left her was a small can with a lid. The maid who has gone to the room to check up on her knelt on the floor beside her crying.
“What’s going on here?” Harry and Emily asked. Their hearts racing as fast as it could. “Ma’am Evelyn, she isn’t breathing.” The maid cried. “What do you mean?” Harry knelt on the floor, he put his ear to her chest but it wasn’t beating. He held her hand to check the pulse but it wasn’t there too.
Balls of sweats rolled down his face, his hands started shaking and Evelyn’s hand dropped from his hand. Her hand was as cold as an ice and her body as pale as someone with a chronic anemia.
