“You know what, stand up now and leave this house. You and your brother are leaving my house now!” shouted at her. “Your house or Harry’s house?” Naomi laughed.

“This isn’t your house. Harry isn’t your son, he can send you out of this house when he found out you are not his Mum,” Naomi said. “He has already found out. Thanks to you and Emily who gave him the diary. But guess what? Harry would never believe you two.”

“Oh really? He found out! Yeah!” Naomi laughed. “I’m sure he also knows that you killed your husband because of him.”

“Naomi, stand up now and leave this house at once! I should have taken the diary away from you before leaving the house but no, I was in a hurry. I should have thrown you two away after giving birth to you or giving you up for an adoption.”

“And oh, we also know why you left the house,” Naomi smiled. “You can’t be serious. Get out now!” She kicked her leg and mistakenly kicked her aching keg. Naomi let out a scream and Michael ran inside the room.

“What did you do to my sister!” he yelled at her. “You and your sister are leaving this house now!” she yelled back. “We are going nowhere! We won’t leave this house until Grandma found out the things you’ve done,” Naomi said holding her leg.

“You witch! You have no sympathy. How could you hit her on the leg she had a surgery on. A heartless mother who abandoned her kids. You even have the mind to go for an abortion after what you did to us!”

“Who told you I went for an abortion?” Her voice broke. “Do you think I didn’t see you? I saw you leaving the hospital when Naomi was been taken to the hospital that day. The nurse there confirmed to me that you had a surgery where your Uterus was removed because of the damage you caused to it.”

“That nurse, you didn’t recognize her right? She is the daughter of the woman who raised us. The woman you left us with,” Michael shouted at her.

“Abortion? Who?” Evelyn turned and saw her Mum standing outside the room. She wished the floor could open and Swallowed her. She blamed herself for being Careless.

Michael didn’t close the door when he entered the room, he let it wide open making Grandma heard what they were saying. She has just entered the house and heard commotions from Naomi’s room.

“Mum.” Evelyn called. Her body was shaking and her heart was beating fast as if it would explode out of her chest. “Who did an abortion? Who has their Uterus removed?” Grandma asked again.

“I’m talking to all of you!” she yelled at them but none of them said anything. “You know what, all of you should come out now and meet me in the living room.” She hurried away to go sit down as her legs were also shaking.

“Let’s go,” Michael said helping Naomi up. “And you too, you’ve got a lot to explain to your Mum,” Naomi said to Evelyn who wished that was just a dream.

She dragged her legs to the sitting room and stood there not knowing if she should sit, go to her room or run out of the house and never returns.

“Everyone, sit!” Grandma pointed to the sofa. The twins sat down but Evelyn didn’t. “Are you deaf!” Grandma shouted at her. She too found a place and sat. In her life, she has never been that scared of her mum before.

“Now tell me what you were talking about in that room,” Grandma said looking at them all as they sat in front of her. Naomi and Michael looked at Evelyn thinking she would talk but she didn’t.

“Will you talk now or I make you!” she yelled at them.

Harry and Emily entered the house at that moment Grandma shouted at them. They were surprised to see Naomi, Michael and Evelyn in front of Grandma.

“What’s going on here?” Harry asked Grandma. “Do any of you knows who terminated a pregnancy in this house?” she asked them. Emily and Harry looked at each other and then at the twins.

“If you don’t speak now, I’ll make you. Speak!” she shouted for the last time and Michael lifted up his head. “Her,” he said. “Who?” Grandma asked again. “Evelyn.” Naomi pointed to her.

“What!” Grandma and Harry exclaimed at the same time. “I knew it.” She turned to Emily. “Didn’t I tell you I had a feeling Evelyn wasn’t up to anything good when she left home?” Grandma said and Emily nodded her head.

“I knew it, Evelyn. When would you change? You even had your Uterus removed? Who got you pregnant?” Evelyn was so ashamed of herself but she didn’t regret what she did.

“Mum, I’m an adult. I can do whatever I want with my body and I don’t regret this.” Harry and Emily exchanged glances again. “You don’t regret this? You are telling me you don’t regret this? Oh my God. What sort of a human are you?”

“And again I’m asking the last question. If you don’t answer me on time, you will see what I’ll do to you,” Grandma threatened. She looked at the twins.

“Tell me who your real Mum is,” she said to them in anger. “She.” Michael pointed at Evelyn. “You again,” Grandma laughed frustratingly. “I’m not your Mum.” She looked at Grandma. “They are not my kids,” she said in tears.

“We are not your kids either. We don’t need a Mum that abandoned us,” Naomi snapped at her. “Evelyn, why am I not surprised that these kids are yours?” Grandma laughed.
