The Billionaire’s Surrogate
Chapter 102 (THE BURIAL)
Chapter 102
The next day, Grandma went to Naomi’s room as others were getting ready for the burial. She was together with Michael and were the only ones who weren’t dressed up. Grandma put on a black gown with a black Hat and a black shoes. She was holding two sets of black clothes in her hand.
“Michael, this is for you and Naomi, this is for you.” She watched their puzzled face and sighed. “It’s the funeral dress. Wear it and come out, everyone is ready.” As Grandma turned to leave, she turned around and looked at Naomi.
“Naomi, can you make it to the funeral home?” she asked her. “Yes,” Naomi nodded her head. Grandma smiled and left the room. The twins decided to go just for the sake of the way she gave birth to them.
Before Emily came out of the room, she took the diary in her bag to hand it over to either Clara or Mona. The diary wasn’t useful to her again and to Harry. She left the room, checked on Harry but he wasn’t in the room.
She went down the stairs and met them all there. As she was thinking of the twins, they too came out of the room dressed in black like others.
Mona and Clara exchanged glances, they would have ask Grandma who they were but kept silent and decided to ask when they are back home. The twins entered the same car with Grandma and the maids, Mona and Clara with the driver while Harry and Emily with Ron.
As Evelyn’s Remain was lowered to the ground, Naomi held Michael’hand tightly. She was scared, she has never witnessed that before. Emily and Harry saw her. She wanted to go to her and comfort her but she didn’t know what would be the outcome and so she held on to Jeff tightly while standing beside Harry and Grandma.
“Till we meet again.” Mona sniffed. They all departed to the cars while Harry stayed behind. He Squat down in front of the grave and locked his fingers together.
“I’ll miss you, Mum.” Tears rolled down his eyes and he cleaned it. He stood up and as he turned, everyone was watching him from afar. He sighed deeply and went back to them.
“Are you alright?” Emily asked him in the car. “Yes,” he smiled at her. “Okay,” Emily smiled too. No one say anything again as they all drove home in black cars.
As soon as they arrived home, Clara pulled off the black gown in front of everyone in the living room. She wore a colored gown inside and out on the black gown on top.
Emily looked at Harry who was staring at Clara Surprisingly. Clara looked at the twins and then at Harry.
“Sorry, Harry. You’ll miss your Mum,” she said in a mocking tone. “Clara, what’s wrong with you?” Mona snapped at her. “That’s the truth. After all, Harry is Mum’s favorite child,” Harry sighed, he wished he had known that woman wasn’t his mum long ago when everyone would have found out.
“And who are these?” She pointed to Michael and Naomi. “They are your siblings,” Grandma said. “Siblings? From where?” Clara chuckled. “These are Michael and Naomi, they are twins. They are the kids your Mum gave birth to but abandoned.” Grandma introduced.
“Mum?” Mona was shocked. “I’m not surprised, that woman can do worse than this.” Clara rolled her eyes. “Anyways, Michael and Naomi, you are welcome to the family. I’m your eldest sister, Clara and this is Mona. You’ve met Harry. You should be thankful to God that Mum wasn’t the one that raised you.” She Sneered.
No one said anything to Clara as she continued saying the things she wanted and no one stopped her. The twins, Emily, Ron and the maids wanted to leave but they decided to stay because they didn’t want to miss the drama that would follow.
“Did Mum leave any will or anything for us? I’m in a hurry to return back to work,” Clara said. This time, Mona has had enough of her and she snapped at her. “Have you no sympathy? You should show some respect to your deceased Mum.”
“Shut it, Mona. You have no idea what that woman put me through. Do you know she was the one telling me to divorce my husband? My husband loves me so much, she told me my husband was cheating on me which was all lies. She was the one that set him up with a girl so that I will leave his house and stay the disgusting life she lived.” Everyone was shocked including Mona.
“You are shocked right? I think it’s because she didn’t do anything to you. In the process of filing for a divorce, I found out everything was a lie. My husband pleaded with me and said it was all lies but I ignored him because of Mum. And at the end, she sent some people to get rid of him. My husband hasn’t been living here for months now, I took him out of the country to save him from my Mum.” She cleaned the tears that had dropped down her face.
“That woman was so cruel. If only our Dad was alive, he wouldn’t have let her do those things to us. Imagine what she did, she gave birth to them.” She pointed to the twins. “She gave birth to them and abandoned them because…” She turned to Naomi and Michael. “Because we were sick,” Naomi said with tears in her eyes.
“See? Because they were born sick. Who else doesn’t fall sick? She would have abandoned you too if not for Grandma’s intervention and it was because you were born sick too,” she said to Mona.
