Chapter 103 (A PAINFUL ONE)

“Do you know the type of death I wished for her, I wanted her to fall sick for a very long time before she dies. I wanted her to be left with nothing, alone! A painful death. That woman hurt me so much, she hurt all of us including her own Mum,” Clara cried.

“Well.” She stood up from the sofa. “I wish you all the best in life. And Harry, sorry for your lose. But you should be happy that the monster is finally gone. You can fall in love now and get married to the love of your love.”

“Twins, I’m still your sister and if you need anything…” She reached for her bag and brought out a card. “If you need anything or feel lonely, come to your big sis.” She gave the card to Naomi.

“Harry, I know there is something weighing heavily in your heart, come to me when you feel like letting it out.” She turned to Grandma.

“Grandma, please I don’t need anything of her. You can share it to the rest except me. That woman isn’t my Mum again, she doesn’t have the chance in my heart again.” She hugged and kissed Grandma on her forehead.

“Good bye, everyone. Mona, till we see again.” She waved to them and left the house.

“Mona, stop crying. It’s okay.” Grandma patted her back. “Grandma!” Mona cried. Grandma turned to the maids. “Go change in to something and make lunch for everyone.” The maids bowed their heads and left.

“Emily, take Jeff to the room. I see he’s sleeping. And you.” She turned to the twins. “Go change your dress and come back here.” They too left even before Emily could leave.

“Harry,” Emily whispered his name. “Go ahead,” he said and she nodded her head. She went to her room, dropped the bag and Jeff who was in the baby carrier.

“Whoa!” Emily exclaimed. “And I thought Clara took after Evelyn.” She shook her head. “She wanted to send her own daughter out of her husband’s house where she lives happily,” Emily gasped. She brought out the diary from the bag.

“What should I do with this? Should I give it back to Naomi or Grandma?” she sighed. “Let’s wait and see. I hope things go back to normal before I leave the house.” She checked the date in her phone. “I’ll be leaving this house in three days time,” she sighed deeply.

The next day in the morning when Mona has already left, Emily decided to go see the twins and speak to them. She knew they won’t talk to her if she wasn’t the first that spoke to them.

Naomi’s leg healed fast and she wasn’t using the crouches again but she still limped as she walked. She knocked on her door and entered. Naomi was tying a towel looking for the dress to wear in the wardrobe.

“Hi Naoms,” Emily smiled. “Hi,” Naomi said without looking at her. “Are you alright?” Emily asked her. “Yes.” She answered. Emily didn’t say anything again and she watched her struggling to find the dress to wear.

She looked down at her leg, the scar from the surgery was still so visible and it gave her leg an awful look. But the doctor told them it would fade away as time goes by.

“Do you need help?” Emily asked her. “No, thanks.” Naomi kept on picking one dress and another until all the dress in the wardrobe was on the floor. She turned around after some times and found Emily still standing there.

“What do you want?” she asked her with an angry look. “I came to see my friend,” Emily smiled. “Sorry, your friend isn’t here.” She started picking up the dress one after the other and put it back inside the wardrobe as she folded it.

“You are my friend. Have you forgotten?” Emily smiled at her. Naomi sighed, she lifted up her head. “I’m not your friend. I don’t know what you are doing here but I want you to know that I don’t want to see you.” Emily was surprised, she thought after Evelyn’s death, everything would changed.

“Naomi, are you still angry because I’m still with Harry?” she asked. “Thank goodness you still know.” She smiled and continued what she was doing.

“Naoms, what do you want me to do for you apart from breaking up with Harry to be your friend again?” she asked. “Emily, you only have to do one thing and that is to stay away from Harry. We will get back to where we stopped as friends if you are no more with him.”

“Naomi, I can’t leave Harry. Don’t you know that when everyone found out about him, he would be alone?” Naomi clicked her tongue on her palate. “Who cares. He can go to somewhere and start again.”

“Sorry, if I have to break up with Harry for you to become my friend, I think we will never be friends again.” She turned around to leave but paused. “And for you to know, I’ll be leaving the house in the next two days to stay with Aunt Gloria. I’m sure you know who that is.” Emily left the room after saying that.

“Whatever!” Naomi continued what she was doing and then the door opened again. “Can’t you just leave me alone?” Naomi lifted up her head thinking it was Emily who has came back.

“Who are you fighting with?” Michael closed the door. “It’s Emily, she just left the room now,” she sighed. “What brought her here?” Michael sat on the bed.

“She came to make friends with me again but I told her to break up with Harry before we can accept her back. Guess what? She said no, that she can’t break up with him.” Michael chuckled. “And oh, she said she would be leaving the house in two days time to go stay with Aunt Gloria.”
