Chapter 105 (THE POWER)

“When next you prepare anything, do not give it to them again,” Grandma said to Emily and she nodded her head.

Emily went to Harry’s room but he wasn’t there.

“I wonder where he went to.” She put down the try on the table and saw a paper on the bed as she was about to go out. “What’s that?” She was curious. She went to the bed and picked up the paper but quickly put it down. “This isn’t mine. Stop looking at things that doesn’t belongs to you.” She beat her hand and left the room.

As soon as she entered her room, Harry returned back to his room with Ron carrying some files. He sat on the bed and then saw what Emily brought for him.

“Miss Emily is treating you good. Wish I could find a girl as lovely as she is,” Ron said and Harry giggled. “You can eat if you want,” he said. As if Ron was waiting for him to say that, he lifted up the lid and picked a pieces. “That’s part of your salary,” Harry teased.

“Hey, just kidding,” he giggled. “Have you sort everything out?” Harry picked up the paper he left on the bed earlier. “Yes, here.” Ron gave him one of the files he was holding. “This is yours and this is for them.” He gave him the other one.

“Alright.” He checked them both. “You did a good job.”

“Emily will leave the house in the next two days,” Harry said without raising his head. “Why? Is something wrong?” Ron was surprised. “She’ll be staying with her Aunt.”

“Oh. Will you be fine?” Harry lifted up his head with a smile. “Yes,” he nodded his head. “Okay. But Boss, how are you going to cope with the twins? Those kids doesn’t seem to like you,” Ron said worriedly. “I know how to, though it may be rough but they’ll understand someday.”

“Take this, print it out and bring it to me when you are done.” Ron took the paper from him and left the room.

He ate the remaining bread, drank the juice and lay on the bed thinking about old times. The times he would always run in to Evelyn’s arms and embraced her.

“I was adopted from the orphanage. Even if I try to look for my parents, I don’t think I will find them,” he sighed deeply. “I have the power to look for them if I wish to but. What would they tell their son if I managed to find them? What would they tell me if they are still alive? Why did they dump me in the orphanage?” He exhaled.

“There’s no need looking for them.” He closed his eyes tightly and let the tears rolled down freely. He missed her but the pains he was in to was because of him. What would happen to him when Mona and Clara found out he wasn’t their biological brother and their father died because of him? Harry couldn’t imagine.

As he had promised to take Emily for shopping the next day, he got ready and when he came out of the room, he found Grandma coming out of Evelyn’s room holding a kit.

“Are you going out?” she asked him closing the door. “Yes, we are going shopping with Emily.” He buttoned his sleeve and looked at her hand. “What about this?” he asked her. “Oh this? It belongs to her sister.”

“She has a sister?” Harry was surprised. Evelyn never talked about her sister when she was still alive and her sister didn’t attend the funeral. “Oh she didn’t tell you right? She has an elder sister but she doesn’t live here,” Harry nodded his head.

“Can you do me a favor please?” Grandma requested. “What’s that?” Harry asked. “Take the twins to shopping with you please.” She pleaded. “Would they come? They don’t seem to like me.” Harry raised a brow.

“I’ll handle that. Just you wait and see.” She hurried back to her room, dropped the kit and came out. Harry was still standing there, she smiled at him and hurried down.

Emily came out of her room well prepared. She carried Jeff in the baby carrier.

“Why are you standing there?” she asked him. Harry lifted up his head from his sleeve. “Oh you are ready. Grandma wants us to take the twins along,” Harry smiled.

He seemed to be happy about that but for Emily, it was a bad idea. She knew Harry wanted to do anything for the kids to make them like him but those kids weren’t the way he thought they were. After all, they were Evelyn’s kids and her blood runs in them.

“Is this a good idea?” Emily asked with a puzzled face. “Yes, this is the first time I’ll be shopping with them,” he smiled. “Alright, let’s hope this turns out good,” she smiled at him and they went downstairs.

As soon as they came down, Grandma exited Naomi’s room with the twins following her. They looked like they were forced to go out of the room by Grandma.

“They are here. Happy shopping.” Grandma turned to the twins. “Now go and remember what I said to you.” They nodded their heads and followed Harry and Emily outside.

They sat at the back while Harry and Emily sat in the front. The car was so quiet which made it so uncomfortable for Harry and Emily. They were used to their chit chat in the car and the kids weren’t helping matters.

“So you’ll be leaving tomorrow right?” Harry asked Emily who was playing with her fingers. “Yes,” Emily nodded her head and kept quiet again. But Harry didn’t want her to be quiet. Who knows, that might be the last moment he would have with her before she leaves.
