The Billionaire’s Surrogate
Chapter 117 (ANOTHER CHANCE)
Chapter 117
“I’m taking Jeff away from her until we found his Mum. So this is what you have been doing? You have been giving him breast milk.”
“But Emily is his Mum,” Harry said. Grandma was confused once again, she looked at Emily and then Harry. “What did you just say?” She wanted to heart it clearly. “Emily is Jeff’s real Mum.” He repeated.
“Are you kidding me?” She looked at Emily whose face showed it all. “Is Jeff your son?” she asked her and Emily nodded her head.
“What!” Grandma exclaimed. “You hid this from me after all the trust I have in you?” She shook her head. “Well, such is life.” Grandma left the room, she was angry and she felt betrayed.
“I’ll follow her,” Emily said but Harry stopped her. “Don’t go now, she won’t want to speak with you now. I’ll handle it. You know what, go home. Everything will be fine,” he said to her and she nodded her head.
Emily left the room looking so sad. She felt bad for not telling Grandma who she really was when she was still in the house. That woman loved her so much and trusted her. But she too has betrayed her.
After Emily has gone home, Harry went to Grandma’s room. She was looking so grumpy and when he entered the room, she looked away.
“Grandma,” Harry sighed. He knelt in front of her and held her hands. “Grandma, I’m so sorry we didn’t tell you about this.” He apologized. “Why didn’t you tell me the truth? Why did Emily not tell me the truth?”
“Because she was scared, she was scared of being chased away from the house again,” he said. “But why was she at the Servant's Quarters and not in the apartment if she really is Jeff’s Mum?”
“She would have been staying with us but Mum switched the marriage contract I offered her. I wanted her to just return with my son and then I’ll abandon her in this house. But Mum exchanged it with a slave contract and she signed it without knowing. Mum was the one that forced her to stay at the Servant’s Quarters not until you returned and brought her back here. I’m so sorry Grandma.” He apologized.
“Oh my God! Why didn’t any of you tell me Emily is the Mum? I’m sure I’m the only one that doesn’t know about this. Do you know how shocked I was when I saw her breastfeeding Jeff?” she sighed.
“It’s okay, tell Emily to come see me tomorrow. I’m happy she’s his Mum. No wonder Jeff is so attached to her,” she sighed. “Thank you Grandma,” he smiled.
Harry went back to his room, he called Emily and told her Grandma wanted to see her the next day. Emily was scared but he explained to her not to worry about anything.
The next day as Emily was bringing out what to wear from the wardrobe, Evelyn’s diary fell out. She picked it up and sighed.
“I have to hand this over to Grandma today. After all, it isn’t mine.” She put it inside the bag she would be carrying and dressed up. Tina took Jeff to their place in the morning and Hanna was at the restaurant with her parents. She locked the house and left.
Twenty minutes later, she arrived at Harry’s house. She went straight to Grandma’s place because she thought Harry wasn’t in the house.
“Grandma, I’m so sorry.” Emily apologized as soon as she stepped inside the room. Grandma dropped the book in her hand and removed her glasses. She wasn’t smiling like she used to.
“Emily, why didn’t you tell me about this when you were still leaving here?” she asked her. “I’m sorry Grandma, I thought you knew,” she said. “Knew? No one told me.”
“I thought you knew when you didn’t ask Harry why he allowed me to take Jeff with me to my Aunt’s place.” It all came to Grandma’s head when she said that.
“Wait, I didn’t even think about that.” She shook her head. “Well, it has already passed and I’m happy that it turned out you are Jeff’s Mum,” Grandma smiled.
“You forgive me now right?” Emily asked sadly. “Yes I forgive you,” she said. “Awn thanks so much Grandma.” Emily hugged her.
“Uhm Grandma, I have something for you.” She reached for her bag and brought out the diary. “This is Ma’am Evelyn’s diary. It happened that it got in to my hand,” she said.
“What will I do with her diary?” Grandma scoffed. “Just throw it away. I don’t want to see any of her things. I’ve long forgotten about her,” she said.
“But Grandma, you should keep it. It might help you to know the things she hid from you.” Emily persuaded. “No Emily, I don’t want to find out anything again. I’m still shock about the twins already.” Sighed
“Okay but I can’t leave with out this.” Emily stood up from the bed and put the book on a table. “I have to get going now, I left Jeff at home.” She hugged Grandma and left.
An hour after Emily has left, Grandma picked up the diary to see whatever it was that Evelyn wrote in it.
“I already know about this.” She flipped the pages but everything on the pages weren’t new to her. The book fell from her hand and when she picked it up, the first page that she saw was where she said Harry was adopted.
“What!” Grandma exclaimed. She read the page, turned it again and saw where she killed her husband when he found out Harry was adopted. “Evelyn!” Grandma was breathing fast. She sat on the floor supporting her weight on the bed.
“No!” She shook her head. “Clara.” Was the only person that came to her mind. She searched for her phone and gave her a call to quickly come to the house. Clara wouldn’t have gone there if her mum was still alive.
