Chapter 118 (WE DON’T HATE HIM)

She wondered what Grandma was calling her for. Michael and Naomi were still in her place and she came with them. She was speaking with them when the call entered.

“Follow me,” Clara said to the twins as they were about to go to their rooms when they arrived. They followed her to Grandma’s room and found Grandma in tears.

“Oh my God, Grandma.” Clara ran to her. “What happened to you? Where’s Harry?” Clara turned to the twins. “One of you should go call Harry,” she said looking so terrified.

“No, don’t go,” Grandma said in tears. “Clara, did you know that Harry was adopted? Do you know your Mum killed your Dad?” Grandma asked her and she sighed.

“Yes, I know,” she said. “Why didn’t you tell me?” She looked at the twins. “You guys know too. Why didn’t you tell me?” She shook her head in tears. “I’m sorry Grandma.” Clara apologized.

“Harry, what will happen to him now? Take me to the living room,” Grandma said. She thought Harry was there.

After they took her to the living room, she sent Michael to go call Harry. Harry who was in his room didn’t know what was happening. He followed Michael out when he told him Grandma wanted to see him.

“What happened?” Harry was frightened after he saw Grandma in tears. “Harry, sit here,” Clara said. Harry sat down, he wondered what could have happened again.

“Harry, Grandma found out who you are,” Michael said. Harry sighed, he supported his head with his hands.

“Harry, I’ve waited for you to come to me and say it to me but you didn’t show up,” Clara said. He lifted up his head and looked at her with tears in his eyes.

“I was scared and I’m scared. I’m scared that you would blame me for your Dad’s death and you will hate me.” Tears rolled down his face.

“Harry, I’ve known this for a very long time now. Dad told us, he told me and Mona when he found out. Mum didn’t know he told us and he died the day he told us. Mum killed him we have known that but we couldn’t do anything to her.” She cleaned her face.

“Why should we hate you? It wasn’t your fault that you were adopted. It wasn’t your fault that Dad was killed. If you knew Mum would kill him because of you, you would have stopped her.” She turned to the twins.

“This is what I’ve been trying to tell you guys especially you, Naomi. You are still young, you shouldn’t build your heart in to hating people. Harry isn’t your family, we know but that isn’t an excuse for you to hate him,” Clara said.

“But Dad was killed because of him,” she said. “Are you kidding me? You don’t even know who Dad is or what he looks like. You are only wasting your time hating him alone because I don’t, Michael don’t and Mona too don’t,” she sighed and turned to Harry.

“Harry, you’ve gone through enough already. Mum thought we are going to make your life a living hell if we found out after she died. But she was wrong. It is her whom we hate not you. You are innocent.”

“Clara.” Harry called in tears. She stood up and hugged him. “Do not cry. I’m still your big sis. We are still your family.” She patted his back.

“Thank you so much.” He closed his eyes tightly. Grandma didn’t say a word, she watched Clara and Michael hugged and comforted Harry.

Emily lay face up on her bed thinking of what would be happening in Harry’s house at that moment. She gave that diary to Grandma on purpose. She wanted her to know what her daughter did. And she wanted her to know Harry wasn’t her grandchild before it’s too late.

She has called Harry’s number several times but he didn’t answer her call. She thought he might be angry with her for giving the diary to Grandma. Suddenly, her phone started ringing and she hurriedly picked it up.

“Harry, I’m so sorry. I didn’t do that to hurt you, I gave the diary to Grandma so that she would find out before it gets late.” She apologized.

“Hey babe, it’s okay. Thank you for giving the diary to Grandma. She called Clara when she read through it and found out. And guess what? Clara said she and Mona already knew years ago. She said their Dad told them the day he died. Clara and Mona aren’t angry with me,” he said happily.

“Really? Oh my God, I’m so happy,” Emily said excitedly. “Thank you so much Emily, I love you.”

“I love you too. I thought you will be mad at me for letting her know. I thought you aren’t ready to tell her now.” She heaved a sigh of relief.

“I was scared but now I’m not. And it’s all thanks to you. I always thought they’ll never want to see me again but I was wrong,” he sighed.

“I’m happy this turned out good. What are you doing now?” she asked him. “About to sleep,” he said. “Alright, we’ll talk tomorrow okay?” he nodded his head. “I love you. Good night.”

Emily ended the call and heaved a sigh of relief. She was so happy everything turned out great.
