The Billionaire’s Surrogate
Chapter 12 (WORK OR COMPETITION)
Chapter 12
“You know what, let’s stop talking about this. Let’s check what he brought.” She diverted her attention to the bags on the carpet in front of her.
“Better,” Belle scoffed. She sat on the carpet and drew one of the bags to herself. She opened it widely and exclaimed. “Wow!” She started bringing out the contents inside the bag.
“These are the things we didn’t even buy in the mall.” There were baby’s clothes, pajamas, Sweaters, booths, socks ( for hands and legs). She put the bag aside and opened another bag again.
“Toys?” Emily chuckled. “What will Jeff do with toys? He’s just two weeks old.” She scoffed. “This bag's full of toys.” Belle shook her head and pulled it aside. “Let’s check what’s in there.” She empty the bag and Emily’s eyes popped out.
“What!” She exclaimed. Belle burst in to laughter after seeing what was inside the bag. “Undies? Pads? Who the hell told him I need this?” She almost scream. “Oh my God!” Belle laughed. She laughed until her stomach started aching her.
“What’s with him? He’s…” She saw a paper inside the stuff and Belle picked it up. “What’s that?” Emily asked. “I’ll read it out.” She unfolded it. “I know it might look weird but I don’t know what else to put in there.” Belle read aloud and started laughing again.
“Who sent him to buy this? He has no shame.” She exhaled. “Hey, stop laughing.” Emily threw a pillow at her. “I’m not doing this on purpose,” Belle laughed. “You are doing this on purpose. He will explain to me why he bought this.” She looked at the other bag.
“I’m sure what’s in there isn’t a good thing to see.” She looked away. “Let’s check it first.” Belle suggested. “No, I don’t want to see it.” She rolled her eyes.
“Can I take it? I’ll return it back if it’s Jeff’s. But if it’s not, I’ll take it,” Emily nodded her head in agreement without even looking at her. Belle opened the bag widely and exclaimed.
“Hey, your voice. Don’t wake my baby,” Emily said to her. “Wow! Just take a look at this dress. Isn’t it beautiful?” She brought out a red sparkling gown. “It’s beautiful,” Emily said. She regretted why she gave the bag to Belle without taking a look first.
“Belle, you know it’s my gift right?” Emily asked and Belle smirked. “It was yours before you gave it to me.” She put back the dresses and the shoes inside the bag and stood up. “Where are you going?” Emily asked. “To my room of course, I’m taking it to my room. I’ll come back and help you clear this.” She pointed to the stuffs on the floor.
“But…” She waved her hand and winked at Emily. “No Buts, just give me a few seconds,” she said grinning. Belle went inside the room, she put the bag inside her wardrobe and returned back to the living room.
“So where should I start?” She looked at the bags they brought home from the mall and then at the ones she emptied on the carpet. “Start from anywhere.” She rolled her eyes and gasped. “Whatever you say, Harry’s baby Mama.” Belle giggled, she bent down and started packing Jeff’s things in a bag.
“How I wish you could spend a year here. My wardrobe and house will be so full of Harry’s items. I’m talking about the ones he would buy for me,” she sighed. “Quit dreaming. Even if I spend more than a year here, Harry won’t buy you anything.”
“Is that jealousy speaking? Don’t Disappointed me girl. You know what? I’ll steal the spotlight from the girl at the office when I wear any of those dresses. That girl is always getting on my nerves. She thought she’s the only one with a rich boyfriend. Thank you for bringing Harry in to my life,” Belle said excitedly.
“Wait a second. Are you guys working there or you are doing Competition?” Emily was surprised. “It’s everywhere, girl. As the billionaire's crush, you have to start taking care of yourself and the way you dress if not, Harry would be snatch away from you. And don’t be surprised that the girl might not even be as beautiful as you are.”
“Whatever, just pack this.” She looked at Jeff who has been staring at her all those while. “Awn my baby is staring at me. Your Mum’s so pretty right?” She touched his cheek. “pff.” Belle puffed. “Feed that boy you lazy girl. It’s already been three hours since you fed him last. You are so lucky that Jeff doesn’t cry anyhow.”
“Okay I heard you. Can you stop calling me lazy? You always called me that even when we were back home together. You know the amount of work I had to do each day but you still called me lazy. Belle, you need a brain reset.” She shook her head.
Belle laughed, she stood up from the door carrying two bags.
“No, we need a brain reset. I’ll take this to your room.” She went in to Emily’s room and helped arranged the things inside the wardrobe.
“I’ve been thinking,” Emily said when Belle returned back to the sitting room. “What’s that?” she asked. “My step mum and Tina. I wonder what brought them to this town.”
“I thought about that too. But whatever it is, I hope they don’t find you here. But wait, are you telling me that you didn’t call them even for once after you left home?” Belle asked. “I once did but Tina wanted to come and see where I works.”
“What happened next?” She sat on the sofa. “I quickly disconnected the call and from that day onward, they didn’t call me and I didn’t call them again. Before you judge me, I was already pregnant with Jeff that time.” She rolled her eyes.
