Chapter 45 (A GOOD DAY)

“And what did you tell her?” she asked. “I only told her I have no other choice than to be here.” She said. “Emily, are you sure that was why you told her?”

“You don’t believe me?” she rolled her eyes. “No, I don’t even trust you. You are always doing things unexpected. Anyways, she wants you to be her personal maid.”

“Personal maid to an old woman? No way.” She chuckled. “Are you kidding me? Do you know she has been looking for Jeff’s Mum? She wants you to take care of Jeff too before she finds his mum.”

Emily nearly scream in excitement.

“Are you serious right now? Oh my God! My son.” She hugged Madam Gloria. “Thank you so much Madam Gloria. I’ve always wanted to be with my son not knowing God would send that woman to me.”

“And again, you have to be careful in there. Do not let Grandma find out you are his real Mum. Time will come for her to find out but not now. Things would go bad if she find out now. You know Evelyn doesn’t like you, stay away from her while you are there. Stay away from Harry too.” She warned.

“I’ll heed to your words,” Emily said happily. “Good. You’ll be moving in to the apartment tomorrow.” She said. “Tomorrow? What about the twins?” she asked.

“It’s not like you’ll be moving out of the house. You can come see them any time of the day and hang around with them. Emily, while you are there, please find a way to get the twins out of here,” she pleaded with her.

“I’ll do that, I promise.” She hugged Madam Gloria once again and hurried back to the twins.

“You can’t believe this,” she said happily. “What?” Naomi asked still eating. “Madam Gloria told me Evelyn’s Mum wants me to be her personal maid. Can you believe that?”

“Wait, does this means you will be moving to the apartment?” Naomi asked “Yes, tomorrow.” Emily was so excited.

“Wow! Congratulations. Tell me you’ll be seeing your child every time. That’s good. I won’t have to see your face again,” she smiled. “Same here, I won’t see your face again.” Emily rolled her eyes.

“I’ll missed you,” Michael said sadly. “Hey come on, I’ll always come out to hang around with you.” She held his hand. “Please don’t come out,” Naomi pleaded.

“I won’t come because of you, I’ll only come for Michael.” She touched his face and he smiled. “This is a good day.”

“Emily, I wish you the best in there. And while you are there, make sure to take revenge on Harry and Evelyn. You don’t have to let them go free after what they did to you.” Michael reminded her.

“I won’t forget.” She smiled.

Next morning as early bas 7:30am, Emily was ready to depart to the apartment. She bade her colleagues good bye and went out of the Quarters with the twins to go meet Madan Gloria wo in turn, would take her to the apartment.

“Emily, we’ll miss you.” Michael was sad that his only friend was leaving the Quarters. “speak for yourself, I won’t miss her.” Naomi rolled her eyes. “Of course you’ll miss her, you re only pretending.”

“Forget her, I know she’s pretending,” Emily smiled. She hugged Michael and then went to Naomi. “Naomi.” She moved forward and this time, Naomi didn’t move back. Emily hugged her.

“I read the diary,” she whispered in her ear. “You what!” Naomi exclaimed. “Yes, you heard what I said.” She winked at her. “Emily, let’s go.” Madan Gloria called on her.

“We’ll see later. I’ll make sure to bring you Goodies whenever I come.” She promised and hurried away.

“Did the kids know you knew Evelyn is their Mum?” Gloria asked as she took Emily to the apartment. Emily wasn’t wearing the Servants gown. She was in a t-shirt and a long pants. She held her two bags in each of her hand as she walked beside Madam Gloria.

“No, I haven’t tell them,” she said. “Okay, I thought they already knew. Remember what I said to you yesterday. Stay away from Evelyn and Harry.” She reminded her.

“I won’t forget that.” They entered the apartment and Emily smiled. Her heart was filled with excitement as she stepped inside.

Grandma was in the sitting room waiting for Emily to arrive.

“You are here.” She heaved a sigh of relief. “I thought you would turn down my offer,” she said to Emily. “Why would I do that? I won’t muss the opportunity of serving a prestigious beautiful lady,” she teased her.

“You think I’m beautiful?” Grandma was excited. “Yes Ma’am, you are prettier than me.” She dropped her bags on the floor. “Oh I’m flattered. Thanks Gloria, you can leave now.” Madam Gloria bowed her head and turned to Emily.

“Remember my words and be a good girl,” she said and left the living room. “Emily right?” Grandma said touching her frontal hair. “Yes Ma’am.” She answered.

“Just call me Grandma,” she smiled at her. “The main reason why I called you here is to take care of the little boy. His name is Jeff. I’m sure you’ve met Evelyn and Harry right?” she asked her.

“Yes ma’am, I mean Grandma,” she smiled. “Good. You’ll get to know more about them as you stay here. Fee free and do whatever you like here, no one will question you. And if anyone tries to bully you, I’ll defend you.”

“I’m deeply honored by your immense gratitude. I’ll make sure I serve you with no mistake.” Emily bowed her head.

“I like your sense of humor already. Jeff is in the room sleeping. You’ll be staying in his room and…” Emily interrupted her. “Really? Oh my God! I’m so happy,” she said excitedly.
