Chapter 46 (MOTHER’S LOVE)

“I see you like kids,” Grandma smiled. “His room his by the right, the last room.” She sad. Emily carried her bags and went upstairs.

She opened the door and found Jeff sleeping on the bed. She dropped the bags on the floor and hurried to the bed.

“My baby.” She carried him up and hugged him tightly. “I’ve missed you so much.” Tears of joy rolled down her eyes. As if Jeff knew it was her, he opened his eyes slowly and smiled for the first time.

“You missed mum too right?” She hugged him again. “My sweet little Jeff, Mummy is here to take care of you. You won’t be fed with baby milk every time, Mummy will give you breast milk.”

She played with him until he fell asleep and then she returned her dresses inside the wardrobe. Some of her things were still there, the maid that parked her bags the other day didn’t take all.

“Speaking of that maid, I wonder where she is. I’ll deal with her for disrespecting me that day.” She closed the wardrobe gently after hanging and folding her clothes in there.

9:00 am, Harry came out from his room to go take his breakfast. It was a Saturday and he wouldn’t go to the company that day. He didn’t hear Jeff’s voice when he came out from his room and so he decided to go check up on him.

He opened the door and entered the room. Jeff was wide awake and was suckling his thumb. He wasn’t crying like he always did if he wakes up and find no one in the room.

“My boy.” Harry lay beside him, playing with him. “You didn’t wake anyone up with your cries today. You’ve become a big boy right?” He kissed his cheeks and he smiled.

“Awn, Jeff’s smiling. You are hungry right? Let’s go meet the maid.” He carried him up and just as he was about to stand up from the bed, Emily came out from the bathroom.

He sprang on his feet so shocked to see Emily. Emily scoffed, she put the baby’s cup she rinsed on the table and wiped her hands with a towel.

“What are you doing here? How did you get in here?” he asked her holding Jeff to his chest. “I flew in here.” She Sneered. “I can see.”

“You’d better leave now before my mum sees you.” He pointed to the door. “You keep saying your Mum, you have no idea.” She shook her head.

“Anyways, I’m going to be living under the same roof with you from now on. And be prepared to taste my furry. I’ll make sure I deal with you, you and your Mum would pay for making me sign a slave contract.”

“You must be out of your mind. You know what, just get out of here.” He pointed at the door again. “I won’t. Put that boy down before you suffocate him.”

“So you would take him and run away with him right? I don’t even know why I’m exchanging words with you. Emily, leave now before my Mum walks in and see you here.”

“Well since you don’t know, I…” They both turned to the door. “Hi Grandma,” Emily smiled. “Hey my sweet girl. Oh, you’ve met Harry already. Harry this is the new girl that will be taking care of Jeff.” Grandma introduced.

“But Jeff is fine. He doesn’t need anyone to take care of him.” Harry protested. “Of course he needs someone to act like his mum. Emily would do that because she likes him already. You can see Jeff didn’t even cry like he always does and look, the innocent boy is smiling.”

“Hi Jeff.” Grandma waved to him. “Uhm Grandma, I want to bathe him,” Emily said “Then take him away from him.” Emily went to Harry but Harry wouldn’t release Jeff to her.

“Grandma, I’m afraid this isn’t a good idea,” he said and Emily chuckled softly. “Give the child to her now!” She commanded. “You are wasting her time. Will you take care of him like his Emily will do? That’s why I told you to bring back his mum.” She turned to Emily.

“Take the boy.” She Forcefully took Jeff away from Harry. “When you are done bathing him, bring him to the living room.” Grandma instructed her. “And you, follow me,” she said to Harry and left the room.

“You heard her, follow her. I can’t believe Grandma told you to go bring his Mum but you disrespected her. Wait until she finds out I’m the real Mum.” She scoffed.

“My baby, Mummy is back for you.” She kissed Jeff and went to the bathroom.

“What da!” Harry exclaimed. “This isn’t good. Grandma has made a terrible mistake by bringing Emily here.” He went out of the room and followed her downstairs.

“Grandma, this isn’t right.” Harry sat on the sofa close to her. “What isn’t right?” she asked him “The maid taking care of Jeff is okay. I don’t want Emily to take care of him, she isn’t good enough.” He said worriedly.

“Do you know her? You sound like you know that girl.” She looked at him suspiciously. “How would I know her, I don’t know her.”

“Then stop disturbing yourself about her. I’m the one that brought her here and I would be the one to take her out of here. It’s better you heed to my instructions or not. Leave that lady alone with Jeff. She will be staying in that room,” Grandma added.
