Chapter 51 (YOU’LL BE SORRY)

Few days later, Emily sat on the sofa in the room playing with Jeff. She and Evelyn were the only ones at home. Harry left for the company while Grandma and the two maids went to the grocery store to shop for foodstuffs.

Evelyn was still looking for her diary. She didn’t confront Emily about it after the incident. She has been waiting for an opportunity like that to be alone at home with her so that they would finish what they started.

She entered the room and closed the door. Emily had her back turned to her and when she spoke, she ignored her.

“Hi Jeff, my handsome grandson.” She waved at him. Emily chuckled, she didn’t say anything again and kept on playing with her son.

“Now that we are alone in the house, tell me where you kept my diary,” she said but Emily still didn’t answer her. “I’m talking to you, Emily,” Emily sighed, she turned around and scanned her from head to toe then continued with what she was doing.

“Don’t you dare anger me, answer my question now!” she yelled at her. Emily sighed, she turned around and shook her head.

“How many times would I have to tell you that your diary isn’t with me?” Emily sighed. “Then who has it if not you? Emily, give me back my diary!”

“Your diary isn’t with me. Stop shouting on me and stop accusing me of what I know nothing about. For the last time, your diary isn’t with me. Leave this room now or I’ll inform Grandma and Harry what you’ve been hiding from them.” She threatened.

“Do you think your threatening would scare me? No way. And for your information, Harry won’t believe you even if Grandma did. None of them will believe you, stop making a fool out of your self,” she chuckled.

“Okay then, let’s try and see. I’ll tell Grandma if she returns, let’s find out if she’ll believe me or not,” Emily smiled. “You dare not!” she warned.

“But you just said they won’t believe me so I want to try and see if they will believe me,” Emily sighed.

“So if the diary isn’t with you. Then who has it?” she asked. “I don’t know.” She ginned. “Emily, I’ll keep looking for that diary and if u find it with you, you’ll be sorry.” She turned to leave but paused.

“And for staying here, you’d better find another place to move in to because I can’t let you stay any longer in this house.”

“Are you afraid Grandma would find out I’m Jeff’s mum?” she giggled. “That would never happen, I’ll see to it that it doesn’t happen.” She opened the door and left the room.

“Who cares,” she smiled at Jeff. “My happiness now is being with my son. I can’t believe I’m with you now.”

Evelyn went to her room, she paced around thinking of who could have took the diary if it wasn’t Emily. Emily has never entered her room before, the only person that always entered her room was Harry and sometimes the maid.

“That book isn’t with Harry, he would have brought it to me after reading it.” She nodded her head. “Then who could have took it?” she wondered.

Suddenly, she remembered Naomi. She remembered she left her in the room when she went to collect the contract document from Harry.

“Could it be Naomi?” She gasped. “That girl, she took it.” She quickly picked up her phone from the table to call Madam Gloria but the stopped.

“Madam Gloria doesn’t know anything about the kids. I wouldn’t want to bust my bubble.” She dropped the phone, thinking of what to do and how to approach Naomi without any one finding out.

“I have an idea.” She sighed deeply. “I hope this works.”

“Please stop over there, I think that is the company.” Belle pointed to the company ahead of them. “Yes Ma’am.” The taxi driver parked the car in front of the company and Belle came out.

She looked at the paper she was holding and then at the company.

“This is it, I finally found it.” She heaved a sigh of relief. “Now let’s go in.” She inhaled deeply before entering the gate. The gates were wide opened so it wasn’t hard for her to pass through. She went inside the reception and looked around looking so confused.

“Ma’am, are you here for the interview?” A man in suit asked her. Belle raised a brow, she was surprised. “Are you hiring new employees?” she asked him. “We are always hiring,” he smiled.

“Oh I see,” she nodded her head. “Sorry I’m not here for the interview. I’m here to see Mr. Harry.” He looked at her from head to toe and then looked around before turning to her.

“What’s your name?” he asked. “Belle.” She answered with a smile. “Just Belle?” He raised a brow. “Yes, that’s my name.”

“Do you have an appointment with him?” he asked again. “No, I came to see him,” she smirked. “Then sorry you can’t see him just like that. You’ll need to have an appointment with him before you can see him.” He tried to walk away but she held his hand.

“Please help me, it’s urgent. I have to speak with him. This is the only opportunity I have, I don’t even know his house,” she pleaded. “The rule is simple, make an appointment with him and you’ll see him.”

“Okay then, help me with his home address.” She requested. “No way I’m doing that. I don’t even know who you are. You might be a dangerous person,” he said and she chuckled.

“Are you kidding me? Do I look like I can even kill an ant?” he giggled. “Yes,” he said and walked away. “Hey!” she yelled and everyone turned to her. Belle was so embarrassed that she lowered her head.
