The Billionaire’s Surrogate
Chapter 52 (EMBARRASSED)
Chapter 52
“This is so embarrassing.” She hurried out of the reception. “What should I do now? Maybe I should wait right here for him. But what if he take long before coming out? Oh God help me. I just want to know how Emily is.” She sighed frustratingly.
“I’ll sit here.” She sat on the block bench facing the entrance of the reception so that she wouldn’t miss Harry when he comes out.
Seconds turned in to minutes, and minutes turned in to hours but Harry didn’t come out. Belle was getting tired, she was so hungry and thirsty.
“What should I do now?” She check the watch on her wrist. “5:30!” She exclaimed. “Oh no, I have to get going now. But what if he comes out after I left?” She bit her lip worriedly.
“You know what, I’ll just come back tomorrow.” She stood up from the bench, exhaled deeply and started walking out of the company.
Just as Belle has her back turned on the company, Harry came out with his Assistant walking behind him. They went to the car and Harry entered.
Belle was waiting for a taxi when they drive past her, she didn’t see them as she was answering a call on her phone.
“Boss, isn’t that Emily’s friend?” Ron asked slowing down the car. “Where?” Harry turned and saw Belle waving to a taxi. “Why are you slowing the car? Move!” He commanded.
“I wonder what she’s doing around here.” Harry thought aloud. “I think she came out from the company. She might be trying to reach her friend.”
Harry remembered Emily’s phone has been with him since the day his Mum sent her to the Servants Quarters. He turned off the phone so that no one would know she was in his house as a slave.
Harry arrived home just at the time Grandma arrived home too. He entered the house with her while the maids followed them with bags from the grocery store.
“Grandma! You are back!” Emily hurried down the stairs happily. Ron was taken aback, he was confused to see Emily inside the apartment. He looked at Harry who wasn’t interested in what Emily was doing. That wasn’t the first time she has been doing that with Grandma.
“My beautiful Emily. You missed me right?” Grandma was all over the moon. “Yes Grandma. We missed you a lot, me and Jeff,” she added. “I know, Emily. I know you and Jeff are the only people that missed me.”
Emily looked at Ron who was staring at her Surprisingly. She Sneered and looked at Harry who was tapping his phone.
“Grandma, I want to take Jeff to the playground. Outside the house,” Emily said. Harry’s phone fell from his hand after she said that. He quickly picked it up and turned to his Grandma to hear what her response would be.
“Are you sure it’s a good idea?” Grandma asked and she smiled. “Ye…” She was interrupted by Harry. “No!” he said. Emily looked at him and rolled her eyes.
“No one should take my child out of this house,” Harry warned. He was scared Emily might run away with Jeff. “I’m sorry sir, I just want the little boy to inhale the natural breeze outside.” Emily said with a smile.
“No, he should stay indoors.” He commanded. “I think Emily is right,” Grandma nodded her head. “Grandma, don’t tell me you are agreeing to her suggestion.”
“Come to think of it, Jeff has been staying here for close to three months now. He has only been inhaling Artificial air, I think it’s time he go out of the house.” Emily was so happy.
“Yes, Grandma.” She bowed her head a little and then grinned Mischievously at Harry. Harry saw that, he had to act fast before she say another thing again.
“Grandma, no one should take Jeff outside,” he said. She sighed and shook her head. “If you don’t want him to be taken out of the house then, he should at least be taken out of the apartment.” She turned to Emily.
“You’ll take him out to see the house tomorrow morning.” She said and Emily smiled. “Yes, Grandma.” Deep down in her heart, she wanted to leave the house with Jeff and with that, she could run away with him.
“But,” Grandma interrupted Harry “No Buts, this is my order,” she said. “Yes, Grandma.” He stood up from the sofa and looked at Emily who was smiling at him.
“I’ll deal with you.” He whispered to her and went upstairs. She watched him go up the stairs with mischievous smile on her face.
“Do you like him?” Grandma’s voice made her turned to her. “Pardon?” She hunched forward. “I said, do you like him? I mean Harry?” She repeated.
Emily laughed, she seemed to find what Grandma said absolutely hysterical. Grandma watched her laughed softly and when she was done, she wiped the drop of tears on her face.
“Now answer my question,” Grandma said. “Wait, you were serious about that?” Emily raised a brow. “Yes, you and Harry seem to always fight. It’s a sign of love you know.”
“Pff!” She waved her hand and Sneered. “Forget that, Grandma.” She rolled her eyes. “Why? You don’t like him or he’s not your type?” she asked.
“Oh Grandma, just take a look at me. I’m just a Servant and nothing more. Mr. Harry is so rich. What can he do with a girl like me,” she sighed. “Emily, when love happens, everything changed. Even if your partner is the ugliest person in the world, you’ll always find him/ her attractive. He/ she would be the most beautiful thing you’ve ever seen in your life,” she smiled.
