The Billionaire’s Surrogate
Chapter 76 (DON’T BE A MONSTER)
Chapter 76
“I won’t forgive her. She shouldn’t have brought me to the world when she knew that she won’t take care of me.”
“Then we’ll never forgive that woman.” He sniffed. “If my sister doesn’t make it out of this room, I’ll take that woman’s life.” He pointed at the surgery room.
“Your sister will come out alive. You can’t be a monster like that woman. You are better than her and she will regret what she did to you and Naomi.” She assured him.
“That woman doesn’t look like she regret what she did. I don’t think she would regret it in the future too,” Grandma sighed, she shook her head and looked at Emily who was leaning on the wall. Emily was hearing all they were saying and at the same time, lost in her own thought.
“Emily, did you come with Jeff’s milk?” Grandma asked her. “No, I forgot to bring it along.” She stood upright. “Then you’ll have to get another one before he wake up and start crying.” She reached for her bag and gave her some cash.
“There’s a store outside, you can get all the items you need,” Grandma said. Emily took the money from her, thanked her and walked away.
As she went out of the hospital, she counted the money and it was more than what she would use to get the milk and other things. That money could get her a phone or take care of her for some weeks.
Immediately she stepped out of the hospital, something came in to her head. She would have run away that instant because that was the opportunity she has been waiting for. But she couldn’t, because there are people who she love in Harry’s house. And she found love too, the type that she lost when she was staying with her step mum.
“What’s the use of running away? I’ll only hurt those closer to me. I’ll put them in frustration because they’ll think I was kidnaped.” She looked at the taxi she slowed down and apologized to him to go.
Emily turned around, she looked at the hospital and smiled. She looked at Jeff who was sleeping in the carrier and giggled.
“I won’t leave, you’ll grow up with your Mum and Dad. You won’t lack the love from any of us.” She touched his head and started going to the store.
Emily returned back with the bag of the baby milk and baby feeder she bought. She handed the remaining change to Grandma but she told her to keep it. Emily thought; if only she met that woman when she was back at home, her Dad’s hospital bill would be paid on time and he would have lived.
Three hours later, Naomi was brought out of the surgery room. No one was allowed to see her and thru were told to come back the next day. Michael didn’t want to leave but with persuasion from Grandma and Emily, he agreed to follow them.
They returned home a quarter to 10pm. Michael turned to go to the quarters after coming out from the car.
“Michael, you can sleep in here and we’ll go to the hospital together tomorrow,” Grandma said but he smiled. “Thanks Ma’am, but I won’t feel comfortable sleeping in there.” He bowed his head a little and walked away.
Grandma and Emily watched him went back to the quarters. She looked at Emily and shook her head.
“These kids are tough. Are they twins?” she asked and Emily nodded her head. “Wow! I can’t imagine what would happen to him if Naomi doesn’t make it.” She sighed.
“She won’t make it?” Emily asked with fears written all over her face. “She will make it. I was just guessing. Let’s go in,” she said and Emily followed her.
“Is Jeff sleeping?” Grandma asked coming closer to check Jeff who was still inside the carrier. “Yes.” Emily quickly said and she stepped back. “Okay.” She sat down on the sofa and exhaled deeply.
“I’m so tired.” Grandma yawned. “I’ll make something for you to eat,” Emily said “No you don’t have to. You should go check up on Harry, I’ll tell the maids to make something for us to eat,” Emily nodded her head. She picked up the bag and went up the stairs.
She knocked on Harry’s room but got no response and so she pushed the door and entered.
“Thank goodness, you are finally back.” Harry heaved a sigh of relief. “You missed me?” she asked and he sighed. “If there’s anything more than Miss, then that is it.” He sat upright and dropped his casted leg on the floor slowly.
“You were asleep when I came to inform you we were going out,” she said looking at him. “Where did you go?” he asked her. “To the hospital,” she answered.
“The hospital? Who’s sick?” he asked again. “A friend from the Servant's Quarters. She undergo a surgery.” She sat down on the chair a distance away from him.
“Surgery? What surgery?” He was surprised. “BMF.” She put her hand inside the carrier and shifted Jeff’s head. “Not good. And how is he/ she?” Emily lifted up her head.
“She, we were told to go back home and return tomorrow. We didn’t get to see her.” She sighed. “Oh okay. I hope she gets well,” he smiled at her.
“Come closer so that I will see Jeff,” he said. “Uhm, he’s already asleep. You’ll see him tomorrow morning,” she smiled at him.
“But I want to see my boy before sleeping.” Emily rolled her eyes. “You are talking as if you don’t see him all the time,” she scoffed. “But I just want to see him now. Who knows if I might not make it to tomorrow?”
