The Billionaire’s Surrogate
Chapter 79 (HATENESS)
Chapter 79
He heard everything she said to the guy she was speaking to. He heard everything, even the things she has hidden from him. Harry left immediately Emily stopped the audio. He was so shocked that his door slammed when he pushed it.
“What’s all this? So she told him not to marry because she wants to marry him? God!” Emily shook her head. “This means Evelyn and I are after the same thing,” she chuckled. “As long as I’m still here, she would never be successful in what she is planning to do.”
She dropped the phone on the side table and lay down on the bed face up. She gasped shockingly and looked at Jeff who was sleeping.
“I pray you never go through any of the things I and your Dad went true,” she sighed deeply. “I’ll make sure you don’t grow up with that woman.” She held his little fingers.
That night, Harry didn’t sleep. He couldn’t sleep and all he did was cried. The woman he called his Mum wasn’t his real Mum. He would have thought it was a lie if someone said that to him. But he heard her said it by herself.
Other things he heard too made him develop a hatred for Evelyn. The type that would never erased from his mind. She has failed as a Mum, a wife and a daughter. She killed her husband for his sake and she was going to kill her own Mum for his sake too. She abandoned her kids too because they were sick.
Harry was pained, the pain he felt in his heart was more than the one in his arm and leg. No wonder she preferred him over Clara and Mona. He thought it was because he was the last child not knowing she has something planned in her mind.
“I hate you.” He cried under his breath. Harry had to covered his mouth to avoid any sound escaping from it. Grandma would wake up and he would have to tell her what prompted him in to crying that night.
Next morning when Grandma came to his room, he felt like a stranger in his own home. Everything has changed for him since the previous night.
“Harry, what’s wrong? You have an eye bag. Didn’t you sleep last night?” she asked him worriedly. “I slept.” He lied. “No, your eyes looked like you didn’t sleep. Tell me what’s wrong.” Harry faked a smile at her.
“I’m fine,” he said holding back his tears. “Alright, since you said so. Or is it that you missed your Mum?” she asked sitting on the bed. “No,” Harry said.
Yesterday, he would have said yes but he found himself saying no. He just hated that woman and wished she never returns back to his house again.
“You don’t miss your Mum? That is unlike you. You always missed her.” She giggled. “We’ll be going to the hospital later.” She said standing up. “To see the girl?” he asked. “Yes,” Grandma said.
“How old is she?” Harry asked. “She’s 23 and guess what, they are twins.” Harry lifted up his head. He has a feeling those kids might be Evelyn’s kids but then brushed the thought aside.
“I’ll be going too but not now. The doctor told me to return back today to have the cast removed.” He said. “Oh okay. I’ll be on my way now, you can come with Emily later.” Grandma left the room. She met Emily on the way and lied to her that Harry wanted to see her.
Grandma wasn’t happy seeing Harry in that state and something in her knew he wasn’t feeling okay. He didn’t call her like he used to whenever he was speaking with her.
“Grandma said you want to see me,” Emily interrupted his thought. Harry giggled, she looked so funny and that brightened his mood.
Emily was putting on a pink loose t-shirt with an inscription ' I HATE YOU' written boldly on it. Her hair was parked in to two bun making her look like a little girl. And she wore a black pencil skirt too.
“You look beautiful,” he smiled at her. Emily out her hands on her waist and chuckled. “No thanks.” She rolled her eyes. “What did I do?” Harry asked her. “Where’s my phone?” She stretched out her palm.
“You are still mad at me because of your phone?” He shook his head. “Yes, I already told you I have lots of things I cherish in there.” She loomed away. “Things like?” he asked. “Things like my pictures with my Dad. And that phone was given to me by my Dad. He said that was the phone my Mum used before she died.” She looked at him with tears in her eyes.
“Oh, I’m so sorry.” He apologized. “Just bring back my phone.” She sniffed and left the room. “Emily.” He called but she didn’t answer him.
Emily went to the room letting the tears rolled down freely on her face. She carried Jeff, put him in the baby carrier and hung it on her shoulders. She didn’t forget to carry his milk and other things. She cleaned her face and left the room.
Grandma and Michael were about to enter the car when she came out of the apartment.
“I thought you would be coming with Harry,” Grandma said Surprisingly. “No.” Emily went to the front seat and sat down while Grandma and Michael sat on the back.
“Are you okay!” she asked. Emily nodded her head and blinked to stop the tears from coming out again. She always get so emotional whenever she remembered that her Mum and Dad were gone.
It was so unlike Emily to stay quiet in the car but that day, she sat so quiet without saying a word to anyone. Even the driver was surprised, he has always seen her so lively.
“Miss Emily, are you alright?” The driver asked when he saw her blinked again. “Yes I’m fine, thank you.” She smiled at him.
