The Billionaire’s Surrogate
Chapter 80 (YOU’RE PRETTY)
Chapter 80
They arrived at the hospital, Naomi was already awake and was speaking with the doctor where her twin brother was. The doctor told her they would soon come but before he could finish speaking, Michael entered the room.
“Naomi, you are awake.” He hurried to the bed. “Yes, I was asking about you.” She hugged him. Grandma was the second person to enter the room and Naomi’s expression changed.
“Hi Naomi, how are you?” Grandma sat on the chair opposite the bed. Naomi didn’t answer her but Grandma didn’t know because the doctor was exchanging greetings with her.
“Naomi.” Michael called her name. “What?” She rolled her eyes. “Where’s Emily?” she asked him. “Oh she said she wanted to use the restroom. Here’s her bag.” He showed her the bag he was holding.
“Oh okay. Look, I don’t feel much pain in my leg again. The only pain I feel now is from the surgery.” She lifted up the blanket and showed him her bandaged leg.
“So sorry sis, your leg will be back to normal. I’m glad you agreed to the surgery.” He touched her face. “Yes and it’s all thanks to Emily. I want to see her and thank her for rendering of the help,” she smiled.
The doctor has gone out and Grandma was watching the twins talked. She wasn’t concentrating on what they were saying but was looking at Naomi closely.
Naomi has something behind her left ear just like that of Evelyn’s. And when she smiled, her left cheek gave out a very small dimple like that of Evelyn too.
“This girl looks like Evelyn, this was how Evelyn was when she was a teenager.” She thought still staring at Naomi who was talking to Michael.
“You look like someone I know,” Grandma said and they both turned to her. “Yes, you are pretty.” She smiled at Naomi. Naomi smiled back and looked away. If not for the fact that she liked it when she was being complemented for her beauty, Naomi would have ignored Grandma.
“I want to see Emily,” Naomi said to Michael. She wished she could just get out of the room because of Grandma who was there. “I’ll go get her.” Michael hurried out of the room before Naomi could say anything.
Immediately Michael left, Grandma wanted to engage her in a talk but Naomi closed her eyes pretending she was sleeping.
“Emily.” Michael waved to her. Emily didn’t go to the restroom like she has said. She stayed at the hospital premises crying her eyes out. It has been long she cried that way since her Dad died. And remembering them made her lose control.
Some people thought she has lost a person close to her heart that was why she was crying that way in the hospital.
Emily quickly cleaned her face and faked a smile as Michael went to her.
“What are you doing here? It’s cold out here and not good for Jeff,” he said looking at her face. “Did you cry?” Michael asked. “No,” Emily said. “You did cried. What happened to you?” Michael sat on the bench beside her. “I…” She blinked her eyes as another tears has gathered there.
“I just remembered my dead parents. I missed them a lot.” She pressed her lips together. “So sorry about that.” He patted her back softly. “It’s okay, I’ve already overcome this. I just don’t know why I’m still crying whenever I remember them,” Michael sighed, he didn’t k kw what to say to her again. He has no idea what a parent love feels like.
“Why are you out here? You should be with Naomi,” she said cleaning her face. “Naomi wants to see you.” He looked at her pitifully. “Really? Then let’s go see her.” She stood up and he held her hand as he stood up too. “Do not cry again.” He patted her hand.
“I won’t cry again,” Emily smiled. They went back inside the hospital to the room Naomi was in. Grandma was till staring at Naomi, she looks exactly like her Evelyn. She would have asked her if she took after her Mum but then remembered the boy said their Mum abandoned them.
“Grandma,” Emily smiled at her. She looked at Naomi whose eyes were closed on the bed. “Hi Naoms,” Emily smiled. Naomi opened her eyes as soon as she heard Emily’s voice.
“Hi Emily,” she smiled at her. “Awn my Naoms. You look so happy. How’s your leg?” Emily sat on the bed. “Look,” she lifted up the blanket. “Ouch! Does it pain?” she asked worriedly. “A little but not like yesterday. Thank you for yesterday, we’ll forever be indebted to you.” She smiled.
“It’s okay. Have you eaten?” Emily quickly changed the topic. She didn’t want Grandma to understand that she lied to the kids that she was the one that paid. “Yes, the nurse gave me breakfast.”
Emily and Naomi kept on talking and talking to Grandma’s amusement. She watched as Naomi smiled and laughed softly. She grew so much love for Naomi that instant but she was confused on why Naomi didn’t want to talk to her. She thought it might be because they were Servants in the house.
Grandma’s phone started ringing, she picked it up and it was Harry. She gave the phone to Emily. Emily didn’t want to answer it at first but decided to because of Grandma that was there.
“Is Emily there?” he asked. “It’s me,” she said. “I’m outside. Please come out.” She disconnected the call and gave the phone to Grandma. “It’s Harry, he said he’s outside. I’ll be right back.” She stood up from the bed and went out of the room.
“Harry and Emily, they are so cute together.” Naomi and Michael exchanged glances. She looked at the kids and sighed.
