The Mischievous CEO Won't Let Me Go
Chapter 113: Hyper-excited
Chapter 113
She walked inside the bathroom and took a long relaxing bath.
After taking a bath and getting prepared for the day, she left the bedroom and headed straight to the living room.
Hopefully, Greg was at home. But she doubt that. He must have gone to work. The sun was already up.
As lonely as it felt to always be left alone in the house, she knew it was selfish of her to seek his company. That would be asking for too much. She’d also not follow him to the company. His home was her safe haven. She’d be glad to wander in it all day long.
As she continued making her way to the living room, her nose caught a delightful flavor and her eyes lit up.
Gosh. She had almost forgotten about breakfast. She did feel hungry despite not eating much dinner last night. The happiness must have done something to her appetite.
Her appetite had woke up anyways, at the familiar flavor wafting in the air. Greg had ordered her favorite breakfast. That was great.
Lucy scurried to the dining area with a hand placed on her now grumbling stomach. And her mouth watered at the sight in front of her. He had even bought her many.
There were dozens of the cupcakes spread on a tray. And her tea was steaming hot. Apart from those, most of her other favorite desserts were spread on the table.
She licked her lips with her eyes glued to the delicacies and a soft laugh jolted her.
“Oh, my God.” She spunned around and splayed both hands on her chest.
Greg was walking toward her from the stairs and dressed in his home clothes. He didn’t leave for work after all. Did that mean he had also woke up late?
“Morning, Princess.” He flashed her a smile and strolled past her to sit on his chair.
Lucy greeted back and she skipped after him.
“Greg, you aren’t going to work?” She asked to confirm her thoughts, taking herself by surprise at how excited she sounded.
“Yep. I’ll spend the day at home. With you.” Greg gave her a nod and was about to pour himself the tea.
But Lucy took the flask instead. Her hand shook. She didn’t know why she was this excited. It had been so long, she couldn’t even remember when she was last happy like this.
And the fact that he wasn’t going to work and would keep her company the whole day added more to her excitement.
He was so considerate to think of spending the day with her. Or maybe it was because he was already late for work. Either way, she wouldn’t feel lonely for the day. He’d keep her company and they’d spend the whole day together.
“Greg, how about we watch some movies after this?” She suggested as she tried to pour him the tea. “Or even better. We can talk a walk around your house. I haven’t see your backyard. I wonder how your brother’s house look on the inside. Is it the same as yours? Can I go have a look? Would you go with me?”
“Lucy!? Watch out,” Greg exclaimed and his eyes widened.
Lucy followed his gaze to her hands and realized she was spilling the tee. The hot liquid had almost scalded her hand.
She quickly dropped it and blowed on her hand. Urgh. She had been too carried away by her excitement. And now, she had stained his table.
Oh, no— the table. Her lips parted at the sight of the mess she had just met and she turned around and scurried in the kitchen’s direction.
“Lucy!?”
She didn’t have time to notice Greg’s stunned expression because she was already inside the kitchen and searching for a cloth. Or a towel— just whatever she would use to clear that mess.
Urgh. How stupid she was. How could she spill his tea? What if he got mad at her? And what if— what if—
No. He wouldn’t send her back. He wouldn’t send her back because she had stained his table. But he was surely going to be mad at her.
Next time, she had to control her excitement.
“Lucy?”
Greg barged inside the kitchen with an anxious expression. And she halted in her quest for towel.
His eyes went to her hands and he let out a curse.
“Let’s have a look.” He took her hands and examined it carefully. “You didn’t hurt yourself, right?”
Lucy watched his expression and shook her head. And as if he didn’t believe her, he dragged her to the basin and put her hands under the running tap.
“Stop being this hyper,” he scolded softly with a chuckle. “So excited to be here, huh?”
Lucy nodded and pursed her lips. She had been so excited. To the point of making a fool of herself.
“I’m so sorry for spilling your tea,” she mumbled and dropped her head.
Greg shook his head at her and laughed again. “Don’t be sorry, Princess.” He gave her hair a slight pat. “It’s not a big deal.”
He gave a careless shrug of his shoulders and after drying her hand with a tissue, he tossed it in the trash and sauntered past her to retrieve a new towel from one of the cabinets.
It was still in it’s package and he brought it out then tossed the box in the trash as well.
Lucy wanted to slap her forehead. It seemed like he never spilled anything in the house. He never had use for the towel in the first place.
And she had just forced him to do that. How despicable of her. Hopefully, the tee stain wouldn’t stick to his table.
She followed him out to the dining area, with her lips pursed and her head hanging down. She was so excited. But she’d done a great job to ruin her own mood. Greg wasn’t mad at her. But she was mad at herself.
