The Mischievous CEO Won't Let Me Go
Chapter 64: Back Off
Chapter 64
Greg gave her a helpless look while he was still scouring for an answer. She had started dragging attention, and he didn’t want that. He had planned to keep a low-profile tonight. This bar was filled with girls that wouldn’t think twice before throwing themselves in his way. He didn’t plan to entertain that tonight.
“You tell me what is better than a beer, Princess.”
His question made her pause and she stared at him in a daze, her eyelids still opening and closing.
Amidst the music floating from a distance, her voice was strangly softer. She stood on tiptoes and leaned in closer, until her face was barely a distance and their breathes missed.
“Something better than a bear?” She murmured, as if pondering. “I don’t know, Greg… But what I love most…” She trailed off, then giggled. “What I love most is desserts. Will you get me one?”
Greg had lost all his sense of reasoning. Her last words only registered when he snapped out of his oblivion. She was very close. Too close. And he found himself recounting on the promise he made.
“Lucy…”
She lifted her hand to shush him before he could finish speaking, and she placed a finger on his lips.
“Tell me you’ll get me one,” she whispered, her soft gaze boring into his eyes he knew would have change to some distinct shade.
She was drunk, but now, he even felt more intoxicated.
Shit! If he didn’t get out of here, he wouldn’t promise not to do anything he’d regret. He’d better risk going out there and join the crowd than staying here with the beer and all else.
“I’ll get you as much sweet desserts as you want,” he promised, still supporting her. “Now, let’s get you to the dance floor, you need to release this newfound energy.”
She nodded in agreement before he could finish his words. And she started wiggling from his hold to flee back to the crowd herself. But Greg wasn’t going to allow that.
He tightened his grip on her, yet he ended up being dragged to the dance floor by her, the energy she used amused him once more.
There was enough room in the area, not everyone was cramped up there. Somes were just watching. And many others were focused on the business the deemed more accurate.
Despite the loud music in his ears and the cheering crowd below, Greg’s chain of attention seemed to have distrusting by seconds. He had planned to go with a simple sway dance to calm his nerves. But Lucy went for the complete opposite.
She had both arms wrapped around his neck, and movement was frantic, almost uncontrolled due to the beer’s effect. Still, she managed to be in sync with the music. Even though she was literally jumping up and down and gyrating to the loud HiFi music, her body had a mind of its own and whatever the DJ played, it had the perfect rhythm for it.
He was once again surprised. She happened to be a great dancer. It was no doubt she was a social butterfly. A butterfly caged in a bottle. Now, he was willing to let her go and fly free.
Instead of those wild thoughts that had invaded his senses moments ago, making him go crazy, Greg found himself only thinking of one thing. He would let her dance to her heart fill, if that would blow away the worries that seemed to be lurking around her.
Loud whistles rose one after another. The other dancers had stopped what they were doing. All eyes were now on her, somes were even cheering.
Greg had long since stopped dancing, he was only drawn to filing his eyes with the amusement in watching her. She was impeccable, and he liked that. And she literally pushed anyone that went near her aside. The music got louder and her movements went wilder.
He knew he should be wary of those gazes on her, especially the guys that didn’t stop whistling. But he didn’t feel that at the moment. Not threatened or jealous, he felt proud. Proud enough to give the others a display of what they hadn’t got.
“You’ve got a nice catch here, Dude.” A guy came up behind him and slapped him on the shoulder with a whistle.
Greg let out a small laugh, still watching her with his hands folded. The bar wasn’t an everyone’s bar. Only the big wigs of the city frequent here. So everyone here were acquainted to certain level, as they were all from the same cycle.
“What a hot chick.” The guy continued, the gaze in his eyes turning into something lecherous. Greg didn’t need to be told what was going on in the bastard’s head.
“How much? I’ll pay double the price,” he went on and reached his hand forward, obviously to hold her.
All Greg had to do was pull that hand back and gave it a twist. He wasn’t satisfied until he had heared a bone or two broke.
“What’s the big idea?” The guy stared at him, shock and disbelief registered on his face which was twisting in pain. “Come on, Dude. Isn’t it just—”
“Back off.” Greg raised a brow and smiled. A smile that matched the thoughts he was having for the guy at the moment. Those wicked thoughts that would only take a snap of his finger to be fulfilled. And leave the guy an imbecile forever. It wasn’t something he had to think twice before doing. Because he would gladly make it happen.
“Easy, bro.” The guy raised both hands in the air snd made a peaceful gesture while taking a walk back. “This one’s out of boundary, I get it.”
He disappeared back into the crowd the moment he finished his words and Greg rolled his eyes then let his attention focus back on the dancing girl.
She didn’t show any sign of stopping soon, the crowd’s cheers and whistles seemed to be cheering her on.
