Chapter 66: Cedric

She struggled to find her footing and both hands reached for the wall for support. When she was out of the washroom, her eyes wandered around the large hallway.

There was many doors at each corner, facing each other. Distance noises reverberated in the place and a few figures walked around. But Greg was no where to be found. Among those figures, even though she couldn’t discern their faces, Greg wasn’t possibly there.

His figure should stand out among the crowd. But all she could see was lanky figures of girls and some guys in different sizes.

She could remember using the elevator, but no elevator was in sight.

She kept on walking forward, still making sure to keep her balance. Her vision was slowly becoming clearer, and she was grateful for that.

An elevator suddenly came into view but she didn’t have time to be releived, because there was more than one elevator. Which one to take? And which floor to go? She wondered, as the throbbing pain in her head increased.

As she kept on walking, she bumped into some figures. Somes where pressed against the wall, she didn’t need to be told what they were doing.

An uncomfortable feeling begain riding inside her and she wondered again, where Greg was.

Just then, among the figures pressed on the wall, one looked in her direction.

It left the girl it was making out with just seconds ago, and stared at her in a daze, then it staggered toward her, as if drunk also.

The next thing Lucy knew was being pressed against the wall. Her heart began beating so fast, the rhythm surpassing the throbbing in her head.

That figure was tall and strong as well. It’s arms kept her tightly in place, she didn’t even have room to struggle. And it smelt so familiar, no he smelled familiar.

Her senses had not picked the wrong scent. It was a strange perfume mixed with a big stench of alcohol.

“Well, isn’t this the dancing blonde?”

The voice made her stop in her thoughts. Her whole body felt paralyzed. She couldn’t even bring herself to continue breathing. And when she finally did, her heart went into a wild mess of hammering and pounding.

Cedric. It was Cedric.

Even in her wildest dreams, Lucy would never mistaken that evil presence and the menacing aura that surrounded him.

What was he doing here? Why did he come here? And above all, did he recognize her? Was that why he’d followed her?

His grip tightened around her hand, pinning her more against the wall. Lucy bit her lips to stop herself from crying out. She had the urge to scream and get help. But how could she get help in this kind of place?

He was just making out a strange lady a while ago, she had seen that. And both of them were drunk. Cedric reeked of a deep stench of alcohol. And her headache increased, the tremors in her body had even started to surface. Her body shook under his grip, dreading what would happen next.

“I never thought he would abandon you soon.” Cedric lifted one hand from her arm and used it to hold her cheek. His fingers against her skin were like the claws of the devil himself. “I was so eager to get my hands on you.” His voice was deep and slurred due to the effect of alcohol.

Lucy was beginning to get suffocated. He was so close. Too close. No doubt he could hear her heartbeat. Where was Greg?

She kept her eyes shut as those fingers grazed her skin.

“Who knew you were just another plaything of his?” Cedric went on. “I would have taken great pleasure in making him experience what it feels like to have your woman snatched away.” Despite his drunk state, there was anger in his voice. His voice got deeper and the next thing he did was clasp her waist.

Lucy was weak and helpless in his strong arms. She pushed against his chest and kicked to no avail. Her hands were weak as well as her legs. The trembling of her body was not helping things either.

This grip felt familiar and she loathed it. There was no doubt he had seen her dancing with Greg on the stage. He seemed to be holding a grudge against Greg. Damnit he was holding a grudge against Greg and he couldn’t wait to get his hands on her.

“But how disappointing.” He clicked his tongue as his face leaned closer. “He’s abandoned you already. You share the same fate as the princess.”

Th-The princess?. Lucy shrank against the wall. Her eyes darting everywhere but him. However, he was blocking her vision with his large figure and she could see nothing else. Her heart did another leap at his words.

The princess he had reffered to was her. What did he mean by sharing the fate as the princess? Did he think Greg had abandoned her already? Did he not recognize her? Lucy wanted to sigh in relief, but relief was farfetched at the moment.

Cedric’s hand curled on her back and he pulled her closer. She gasped at that sudden movement and snapped her eyes opened to be meet with his narrowed eyes.

“Even so…” Cedric said with a dark chuckle. “It would be a waste to pass up the chance of grabbing such a beauty. You share the same fate and the princess, I will be glad to make you both mine. As long as you’re good, I won’t mind sharing others left overs.” He paused to grin an evil grin. “And both of you shall be mine.”

His words sent alarm bells ringing in her head and Lucy’s breath hitched. ‘Be good, you shall be mine.’

Those were the same words he has texted her that morning. And the remainder clawed at her nerves. Was that his purpose of returning? The same question had been hitching her since morning and those words had been haunting her since she saw them.
