The Mischievous CEO Won't Let Me Go
Chapter 67: Where Are You Taking Me
Chapter 67
She swallowed a lump past he throat and couldn’t even reach until his touch got bolder. Lucy struggled again, kicking against him and pushing at his chest. She didn’t dare make a sound now. He might recognize her voice. He didn’t know it was her, if he did, what was he even going to do.
He thought it was another girl, yet, he would take leverage in having her. All because of Greg. And all because of her. How cunning could he get?
They said he was back in the city because of her, and here he was in a bar advancing at every girl on his path.
As his true colors unraveled themselves, Lucy hated him more than ever. She was afraid and at the same time hated him. She had the urge to scream for help but she couldn’t. And her strength was failing her. She continued pushing anyway, her heart hammering and her eyes watering.
And she couldn’t help but ask for the umpteenth time. Where was Greg and those ladies he had left her to? How could he leave her alone in this kind of situation?
“Don’t give us a hard time. Be good.”
His voice tinged her skin like prick of needles. Lucy wanted to yell for him to stop. Her head buzzed under the effect of the alcohol and it kept on pounding.
His cold palms landed on her shoulder which made her flinched and his hot breath fanned her face. Right then, Lucy didn’t care about anything. She had to scream and save herself, even at the risk of him recognizing her.
No one might come to her aid and she would run.
But just when she wanted to do that, a cold breeze swished past and everything happened so fast. Cedric was peeled from her body with a punch to his face and he was now hurdled against the wall by stronger hands.
Lucy staggered back to let out the air of relief in her. Her vision was not quite cleared yet but she could see two figures breaking into a fight.
Despite being drunk, Cedric had pushed back and the two men were exchanging strong blows.
“You evil son of a b*tch!” Cedric growled as he launched back an attack.
The new figure dodged it and sent his fists flying again on the guy’s face instead. “Next time, you’ll think twice before touching what doesn’t belong to you.”
That last blow seemed to have hit hard as Cedric took a long time, staggering and struggling to find his footing.
Lucy stared at her savior, her body was still shaking and her heartbeat was still in a frenzy. That voice, she recognized that voice.
Before she could manage a word out of her lips, He grabbed her hand and pulled her out of the place, leaving the groaning Cedric behind.
“Jai, what are you doing here?” Lucy’s eyes darted back to Cedric as the guy directed her to the elevator.
Jai did not answer, he probably did not hear her. Her voice was shaky, it was barely a whisper amidst the chattering of people.
Lucy took her eyes off Cedric as they’ve put a great distance from him. Her eyes darted again to every corner of the hallway before they finally got inside the elevator.
She couldn’t spot Greg anywhere. Where was he? Did he leave with the other ladies without her?
Something heavy fell in her chest and she pursed her lips. Her head lifted off to look at her savior.
They were the only ones inside the elevator and she was sure he could now hear her words clearly.
However, her earlier question was far from her mind. And a lot more questions swarmed in her head.
Had Jai been in the bar all along? Did he find and save her by coincidence? How did he recognize it was her?
Of course, he’d recognize her. Her last question even sounded ridiculous to herself. Wasn’t he the one that had taken her to have the new look?
But the new makeover Greg had done for her, how could he have noticed her through that? It was a complete new makeover.
As if reading the questions in her mind, Jai who had been staring at her as though he was in a trance let out a soft laugh.
“You shouldn’t be in these kinds of places, Princess,” he said in a gently tone with a hint of scolding in it.
Lucy lowered her head and fiddled with her fingers. She wasn’t alone, Greg was with her. She let out a sigh and looked up.
“Jai, thank you for saving me.” Lucy felt she should thank him. He didn’t answer her question why he was here, and that wasn’t important. If he hadn’t come to save her, only God knew what that bastard would have done.
Jai folded his hands and leaned against the elevator wall. “You shouldn’t thank me.” He shrugged. “It will be my lose if I let anyone hurt you.”
Lucy smiled at him and placed a hand on her aching head. She decided to shut her eyes for a few seconds to let the slight throbbing subside. She could feel his gaze on her, he was silent. He didn’t say anything about how she left his car on their way to the airport.
Although she had called him later on after seeing his text and he had said it was alright, she could sense the disappointment in his voice. But right now, he appeared as if he had even forgotten about it.
She didn’t know the elevator had come to a stop until she felt his hands on her.
“Let’s go,” Jai said and held her out of the elevator.
Lucy frowned. Her footsteps were sluggish and she had to skip to keep up with his large strides.
“Where are you taking me!?” She yelled out to him amidst the loud music.
They maneuvered through the crowd of people in the down floor and Jai led her out to the front door.
