Chapter 91: How Was This Possible

The Next Day….

The sky was bright and the sun was peeping from the horizon, already showering its rays down the other sides of the city.

Only this part of the town still had the peaceful atmosphere that came with every morning.

The birds chipped from the trees and no other animals were in sight. That was the norm. Not even pets reside in this neighborhood.

Every owner of the buildings were too engrossed in their working life to think of hiring one. The area was almost always deserted.

Before dawn, every of its inhabitants would either be on their way to their various destinations, otherwise, the sounds of cars departing the area would be so prominent in the air.

And at times like these, no car would be sighted in any of the parking lots that stood outside every house, encassed by the metal fences.

And that was why George found it strange. He was surprised so see his brother’s car still outside in his parking lot.

Through the fence of the house opposite his, his brother’s car stood. It wasn’t well into the parking lot even. And that was strange.

When he returned from work last night, he had seen the car parked in that position. Which was unusual of his brother who always preffered to keep things in place and tidy.

He wasn’t also the type to reach this hour at home without going to the company. George had always been the late riser. And right now, if it wasn’t for his assistant calling him for some non-existent meeting, he wouldn’t have left the warmth of his covers yet.

He would have still been in bed and keep on basking in his dreams of the celebrity. The only things that kept him company while he deviced other plans to make her come to him willingly.

His dreams had been cooperative recently, and he didn’t have to miss her much. He could fall asleep in his office and still see her again. Somehow, he was even lucky to have an assistant that shared some resemblance with her.

He wouldn’t conclude if that wasn’t his imagination. But he’d enjoy the fun while it lasted. Before his head cleared again and he’d be faced with the brutal reality that both girls in fact didn’t share anything in common.

His eyes went between his own car to his brothers car. Should he just go ahead and drive to work?

But this huge leap in his brother’s behavior, how could he pass up the chance if witnessing what the dude was up to?

It would be more fun than going to the office and lazily watching his assistant parade around. His brothers weird behavior hadn’t missed him even a bit.

He knew what he had on going with the the Princess.

What if George was missing out on something fascinating? Was his brother having a fantastic time in there and neglecting his work?

That would be a revelation. He couldn’t wait to barge in there and catch the dude red-handed. Then he’d see how he was going to deny what he truly felt for the princess.

George already had his suspicions. But now, he was going to confirm it and rub it on his brother’s face that he was already out of the club whether he’d like it or not.

Between them, who knew it was his brother that was going to be knocked down first by a girl?

He was crazy about that princess, it was as clear as day.

Now, let’s see how he was going to defend himself.

George chuckled and sprinted for his brother’s house. Maybe he should take a camera? No. His phone would suffice.

He rang the doorbell and waited with both hands in his pants pocket.

When no answer came, he laughed again and shook his head. His brother was not out of bed. That was a certain thing.

He kept on ringing the doorbell for a while, his smile widening. Wow. He wasn’t going to even imagine what was keeping his brother in there.

After seeing that it would be futile to make his brother come down and receive the door, George shrugged and pressed in the password.

He was left with no choice but to walk in on them.

He kept whistling as his eyes wandered around the surroundings. And he halted, when his leg kicked something.

A shoe. How interesting.

He pressed his lips together to suppress his laughter.

One of his brothers’s shoes at the entrance?

Things were even more exciting than he thought.

He went ahead to walk inside the living room, where he found the other pair of shoes tossed in a corner.

Very fascinating. He couldn’t control his laughter this time.

So much for his tidy brother. Things must have gone intense, no doubt.

When his eyes went to the head of one of the couches, the excitement in him but bubbled to a higher degree.

His brother’s jacket was sprawled on the couch, he could even see a button missing.

Hell! He had to run upstairs and see whatever the rest of the clues he might found. He couldn’t believe the princess already had his brother wrapped around her fingers.

So he turned for the stairs, his eyes fixed in that direction. But a sound stopped him, a low murmur came from the couch.

George’s ears perked up and he turned around to glance in that direction.

It was a fleeting glance. But that was enough. It was enough to see his brother’s figure on the couch.

What the hell!?

His eyes widened and the sight staggered him.

His brother was sprawled on the couch. Half asleep and half awake. One arm was flung over the couche’s headrest. And the other hand which was on the floor, was holding a large bottle of wine.

Holy mackerel! Was he dreaming?

“Dude. Dude” George skipped to the couch and nudged the drunk guy.

Shit! He was heavily drunk. Everywhere was filled with the stench of the damn wine. How the hell was this possible?
