Chapter 93: Why Did She Leave

After throwing the plastic in the trash, George folded the sleeves of his shirt again and went to the fridge.

Canned foods. He snickered. That was typical of his brother.

Thankfully, there were vegetables inside the fridge. However, they were untouched.

George had made sure they were always delivered, despite knowing it would be hard for the poor things to get cooked.

Hopefully, the princess knew her way around the kitchen. His money wouldn’t go to waste.

And speaking of the princess. George sighed and shook his head. There was a lot he needed to know— from his brother.

He picked out the ingredients he would need and went ahead to look for the pots. Unused pots that were still inside their boxes.

Another laugh left his lips. He got every utensil set in no time and went ahead to cut every vegetable he would need.

It didn’t take long to put everything together, and in no time, the soup was sitting on the stove and steaming up.

He made bread toasts, omelettes, and everything the his brother’s preferences might be for breakfast.

After everything was done, he finally left the kitchen and settled the huge tray on the dining table.

Before he could go upstairs to check on his brother, George had the urge to check the guest room. There was no way she would be here without him noticing. He frowned and decided to go upstairs instead.

When he pushed the door opened, Greg had already taken his bath and drying his hair in front of the mirror.

The large bags were still unders his eyes and he didn’t look much less miserable.

“Don’t look at me,” he murmured as he put the hair dryer away.

George leaned against the wall and chortled. He folded his hands while his eyes followed his brother.

Greg ran a hand through his hair and ignored him. He sauntered inside the walk-in closet and came out later, dressed in simple home clothes.

“Not going to the company?” George raised a brow.

Greg rolled his eyes and sauntered past him out of the room. “Do I seem like it?”

“No, you don’t.” George gave him a sympathetic look.”You look so miserable right now.”

“Stop it,” Greg said lazily.

They walked downstairs and headed straight to the dining room.

“I can’t believe you can slack off as the chairman,” George mocked. “You should have try harder in the game.”

“You cheated,” Greg said gave him an accusatory glance.

George shrugged and grinned. “Nothing is fair in games, Buddy. You thought me that.”

When he had a chance to win the smaller position with the lightest workload, George didn’t see why he shouldn’t grab the chance. However, he was very sure that his brother heeded him in that. Hadn’t he been carried away by his thoughts about a particular someone? And intentionally drew out his card at the wrong time?

They both took a chair in the dining table and George pushed the hangover soap to his brother. “Take this first and tell me where the princess is.”

Greg narrowed his eyes and his knuckles turned white as his hold tightened around the soup bowl.

He must have known that George had already suspected something.

He let out a laugh that sounded almost mocking to himself, and lowered his head to sip the hot soup.

“Shit! Careful Dude—”

But before George could warn him of the hot soap, Greg was already drinking it.

If it scalded his tongue, he didn’t show it. He remained sitting, his expression blank.

His expression from before was long go. He appeared carefree now with a slight smile on his face.

George tapped his finger on the desk patiently. After that drama at the living room a while ago, he knew better than anyone else that the calmness was a façade.

His brother was beyond calm at this moment.

His eye went to the guestrooms’ direction and it returned to watch his brother. Something was definitely off. And all his thoughts pointed to one thing. Since there was no sign of her, it must have something to do with the guys misery.

‘Gosh.’ He clicked his tongue and cringed. His brother really had it hard this time.

“Damnit! You’re in love with her.” He couldn’t help but voice his thoughts out.

Greg’s hands paused mid-air with the spoon and his fingers trembled. “Is it that obvious?” He let out a chuckle.

George found himself running a hand through his hair. His suspicions were right. And the fact that his brother didn’t deny it this time only made things worse.

How could this happen? He didn’t know if he should be happy or sympathize with his brother at this moment? How could things get to this?

He hadn’t kept her because he felt the need to or just for fun, he was madly in love with the girl.

There was evidence everywhere.

The wines and all these. Damnit! His hand balled into a fist and he leaned back on the chair. She was a no-go area. She shouldn’t have affected his brother this way.

If it was a subtle affection, it should go away in no time. But this. It would be too hard to put it in words. She truly had gotten him wrapped around her fingers. It wasn’t a joke.

“It doesn’t matter,” Greg said in a careless tone and replaced the soup with the breakfast. “She has left. It’s no biggie.”

Not a problem? George shook his head and gave the guy a helpless look. If his brother had said that before he caught him burying himself in large bottles of wine, he would have believed it.

How could he say it was no biggie when he had drunk himself to a state of unconsciousness because of it?

“Why did she leave?” He leaned forward with both hands folded on the table and asked.
