Chapter 12: You Have Killed Him!

The guy looked like a ball right out of hell. Eve couldn’t react on time, and by the time she did, Matt had been restrained by Ethan.

Ethan grabbed his collar and pulled him away.

“Big bro, let me at her! She’s gone too far by calling me a chicken!”

Eve gulped and hid behind Ethan. When did she call him a chicken? She only warned him not to chicken out.

“If you dare touch a hair on her body.” Ethan gave him a warning look.

“Argh! Big Bro!” Matt whined. He swayed and pointed at Eve. “I swear she started it! This stupid girl dares to call this Young Master a chicken. Tell her, Big Bro, have I ever backed off from any argument?”

“Don’t believe him, Ethan,” Eve squeaked. “He’s just bluffing, I didn’t start anything.” As weird and wild as Matt was, she never expected him to race down here. Hadn’t he always been cautious about setting foot here?

“What’s going on, by the way?” Matt swayed again, pointing at Cole. “Who’s this dumb-looking guy?”

Cole straightened up and folded his hands. “Your eyesight must be abnormal. In what way do I look dumb to you?”

“Argh! I think you’re fed up with this world. How dare you insult my eyesight!” Matt shook his fist in the air. “Who the hell is this guy, Big Bro? I swear I’ll strangle him to death.”

“You’re thinking too much of yourself, Little Boy,” Cole twitched his lips. “The older one covets a woman that doesn’t belong to him, and the younger one is a fool. Are all your family members retarded?”

“Y–You, this piece of shit!” Matt staggered forward with his sluggish footsteps. “What did you just say? How dare you call my family names?”

“Let me guess.” He swayed once more. “You don’t seem to like my Big Bro, so you must be picking a fight with him. Are you here for this stupid girl? Did she invite you to fight my Big Bro?”

“You’re not as dumb as you look.”

Cole’s words only agitated Matt more. “Ahh! Now, I get it. You must be Sister-in-law’s secret lover. Well, guess what? Today is your lucky day. You just happen to get on the bad side of this Young Master.”

“Get out of my sight, I don’t fight with boys. Only your brother is worthy to have a fight with me.”

“Who did you just call a boy!” Matt yelled. “Big Bro–” he turned to Ethan. “–Did you just hear what he said? I’ll make sure he regurgitates his own blood today. Step aside and let me deal with him.”

He didn’t wait for Ethan to step aside and he snatched the golf club from him. “Now watch as I break your lover to pieces, Evelyn. Don’t even try to beg for mercy, because this Young Master doesn’t have that word in his vocabulary.”

Eve was no longer hiding behind Ethan. Matt looked like a maniac. In fact, he acted like a maniac. He didn’t give Cole a chance to recover, as he accompanied each strike with a stronger one.

Cole’s once-white shirt was now plastered red. There was too much blood that Eve had to cover her eyes.

“Ethan, stop him.” She pulled at Ethan’s arm amidst Cole’s yells.

If Matt didn’t stop, she was afraid Cole would drop dead. And that would lead to an even bigger trouble.

Ethan didn’t budge. He watched the scene, unblinking, without any shift in his nonchalant expression.

“Ethan, you can’t allow Matt to commit murder. Th–That boy is out of his mind.”

“He’s not going to die,” Ethan said in a careless tone after throwing her a glare.

He wasn’t going to die? Eve didn’t believe that. And her fears came true in the next minute when Cole’s body went limp.

“Ahhh! Matt, you have killed him!” Eve screamed and covered her ears, her heartbeat threatening to explode.

“So what if he’s dead?” Matt scoffed. “He brought it upon himself.”

‘No no no no, this can’t be happening.’ Eve wanted to cry but her eyes were as dry as a desert. “Argh! We’re all in trouble.”

“He’s not dead.” Ethan kicked the body and it twitched. “He has fainted.”

“Really?”

“Really?”

Both Eve and Matt asked at the same time. Eve’s heartbeat relaxed, but Matt lifted the golf club in the air. “Then that means my job is not finished. If this Young Master does not live up to his reputation today, he’s forever going to walk around with his head in his tail.”

“Ahh! Matt, Stop it!” Eve cried out.

Ethan grabbed the golf club before it landed on Cole. “That’s enough, let him go.”

“But, Big Bro, this piece of shit doesn’t deserve to live. In this whole city, apart from this stupid girl, no one has ever dared to insult this Young Master.”

“Guards.” Ethan ignored Matt and called out to the bodyguards who walked forward immediately. “Take him away.”

“Yes, Young Master,” the bodyguards answered in unison and they dragged Cole’s body out of the Villa, leaving a trail of blood on the ground.

“Argh! Big Bro, that’s not fair.” Matt swayed and turned around. “I swear I’ll turn this city upside down and search for him. If I don’t finish my job, I’ll fail my ancestors.”

“Don’t do that.”

“Why, Big Bro. That idiot is obviously coveting your wife. And this stupid girl, she dares bring a man to your house and have an affair.”

“Hey, watch your mouth,” Eve scowled at him. “Who told you I had an affair?”

“Big Bro, what are you even doing with her? She’s nothing but trouble. I know we don’t get along, but you must believe me when I say she doesn’t have good intentions. You might wake up one morning and all your money is gone.”

“Y–You, Matt! Watch what you’re saying.” Eve chewed at her fingers. ‘This stupid boy.’ Ethan was already mad at her about Cole. Did he want to dig more holes for her or what?

“Come here.” Ethan nodded to Matt.

“Big Bro, what is it?” Matt swayed forward.

“Come closer,” Ethan added.

Matt looked apprehensive, and as he moved closer, Ethan grabbed his collar and sniffed him.

“You’ve been drinking.”

Eve gasped and covered her mouth. Matt was drunk? That explained everything.

“Come on, Big Bro. Me? Drinking? The only drink this Young Master has taken today is water.”

“You’re lying.” Ethan glared at him. “You got yourself drunk, and you drove here recklessly. Are you trying to get yourself killed?”

A strong stench of alcohol hit Eve’s nose as Matt was now very close.

“B–Big Bro?”

“Why don’t I take the load off your shoulders and send you to the other end soon?”

Eve shuddered at the sudden drop in the temperature. Ethan was calm even while Cole argued with him, but now, he looked as if he would explode with anger.

“Ahhh! Big Bro!” Matt screamed as Ethan raised the golf club in the air.
