The President's Daring Wife
Chapter 46: His Nice Side
Chapter 48
“You must be careful next time, Madam. The Young Master has a temper that no one dares to tick him off. Even his grandfather avoids him when he’s very mad.”
“Ouch! Elena! Be careful.” Eve whimpered as the Stewardess rubbed ointment on her.
Her body ached all over, she couldn’t even lift her hand. After Ethan left her alone, the Stewardess had to come in and peel her off the bed.
Eve couldn’t even take the warm bath herself until Elena helped her.
“Is Ethan’s body made of steel or what? Why is he so heavy, Elena?”
The heartless man wasn’t even fat, but his body weighed heavier than a rock.
“The Young Master has spent several years in the military, Madam. You can’t expect him not to be strong. Just heed my advice and please don’t upset him anymore. Despite you looking like this, I think the Young Master held back some of his strength.”
“Ah! I think I’m dying, Elena.” Eve shuddered as the Stewardess rubbed ointment on her waist. “I swear if anything happens to my precious uterus, I won’t let Ethan rest in peace forever.”
“Nothing will happen to you, Madam. You have to put up with the pain, it will soon go away.” Elena sighed and continued rubbing the ointment on her.
Eve moaned and wiped her tears. “I think I’m running a fever, Elena.”
The Stewardess paused and placed a palm on her forehead. “Your temperature is normal. It’s alright, I’ll get you some painkillers after you eat.”
“But I think I’m going to die, Elena– Ouch!” Eve’s hand shook as she tried to touch her waist. “If I die today, Elena, tell my Grandpa to have Ethan executed. This way, we can spend the rest of our married life in the other world.”
“Madam!?” Elena halted. “You can’t say such things. Now, stop being a baby. You’ll be fine in a few hours.”
Eve whimpered again. She buried her face in the pillow and sobbed.
“I’m done, Madam. Let me bring you dinner and also your drugs.” Elena stood up and left the room.
Eve’s body was all covered with the ointment from head to toe. But why couldn’t she feel any relief? Why did she feel as if her bones were breaking inside?
“Argh! Ethan!”
That beast. He really treated her like a traitor on the battlefield. If she hadn’t passed out, would he not have left her alone?
The door creaked open, and expecting that it was Elena, Eve lifted her head only to find Ethan entering the bedroom.
“Ahhh! Monster! Get out, d–don’t come near me!” She picked up the pillow and tossed it in his direction while shuffling away.
Ethan dodged the pillow, his expression calm. And without glancing at her, he entered the bathroom and came out later in his bathrobe.
“Have I shown you my karate skills, Ethan?” Eve yelled as he walked into the closet. “If you’re not afraid, wait until I get better and let’s have a duel. I swear I’ll make you impotent!”
Ethan left the closet, now dressed in his pajamas. And ignoring her again, he left the bedroom.
“Argh! Come back, Ethan! I’m not done with you yet! I swear you’ll regret crossing me.”
“I told you to be careful, Madam.” Elena rushed into the room with a flabbergasted look. “You can’t let any kind of word come out of your mouth. What if you anger the Young Master again?”
Eve sniffed and struggled to lean against the headboard. “I’m not called the queen of justice for nothing, Elena. I’ll get back at that man even if it’s the last thing I do.”
“Madam.” Elena sighed and placed the food tray on the bedside table before going to the door and coming back with the pillow. “I am serious, you can’t trifle with the Young Master too much. He doesn’t get mad easily, but when he does, it’s a disaster.”
“Ethan is always angry, Elena. That man doesn’t even smile.”
“Believe me, that is the nice side of him. Don’t pray to see the Young Master very mad.”
Eve sighed inside. She really must get back at him.
“I know you’re saying that to make me obedient. But I don’t forgive those who cross me easily. Just leave me, Elena. Ethan must pay for this.”
“Eat, Madam.” Elena placed the tray on her lap and started feeding her. “I know you’re a great wife with a generous heart. You aren’t one to hold grudges for long. Whatever the Young Master does, I’m sure you’ll forgive him.”
“Don’t butter me up.” Eve chewed the food with difficulty. Even her lips ached, she could swear they were bruised.
“I would have preferred Ethan beat me up. Right now, I don’t look any different from someone that was beaten black and blue.”
“Eat your food, Madam. I hear that anger can make you age quickly. Can’t you see how beautiful I am? It is because I keep a smile on my face all the time.”
“Elena–”
“Now now, that’s my Eve. I have a daughter who’s as troublesome. But she doesn’t stay mad for long when I sing her a nice lullaby.”
“Stop it, Elena,” Eve grumbled. “Nothing you say will make me happy.”
Elena started singing anyways. She stroked her hair and patted her back as if she was a baby.
“Elena, I said stop it.” Eve sniffled back her tears. “Even my mothers didn’t treat me this way. I’m not a very softhearted person. Don’t turn me into one.”
“You’re very softhearted, Eve. All you need is a nice husband and a caring Stewardess.”
“But Ethan isn’t nice.”
“Of course he is.” Elena chuckled. “Just don’t cross him.”
Eve pursed her lips and sighed. When she was done eating, Elena made her take the painkillers and bid her goodnight.
She stared up at the ceiling, sniffing back her tears which had long dried up. Some minutes later, the door creaked open and Ethan’s footsteps sounded in the room.
“Y–You, Ethan!” Eve ignored the pain in her body and jumped to her feet. “Don’t think I’ll forgive you. In fact, you’re not sleeping here. But before I chase you out of this room, let me break your head first.”
She grabbed the bedside lamp while her head buzzed with dizziness.
Eve lost her footing and she staggered into the man’s arms and fainted.
