Chapter 117 The Foreboding Feeling

A twin?

Who?

Violet could believe Freya was only bluffing if only her best friend hadn't looked deadly serious.

She even told her Asher was in town.

She told her so many things that she couldn't grasp a single statement.

“Listen to me, Violet!” Even an hour later, Freya was still persistent in convincing her. “It's not like I don't trust Asher. But I have a bad feeling about all this. He found the exact replica of you and called her his wife- that's absurd, Asher vowed he'd love you forever!”

Asher’s love for her wasn't the thing that mattered the most.

The idea that she had a lost twin out there was what scared Violet.

How?

And when?

As far as she could remember, she neither had any sister nor siblings.

She was the only child her parents had. Her parents divorced while she was young, but her father wouldn't have a daughter who was the same age as her and also looked exactly like her.

Violet thought she looked more like her mother.

She'd inherited most of her physical features.

“You still don't believe me?” Freya groaned. “Damn! I should have snapped her picture-”

“I do…” Sighing, Violet stared at her untouched breakfast.

How could she not?

Freya would never lie to her.

She told her Asher said her life might be in danger which was absurd. From the information Freya had given her, that lady had even lost her memories.

No. She had to see her.

This new curiosity was already eating at her.

“Mummy, if Aunt Freya's right, does that mean I have two Mummies!?” Mimi chipped in, her excited voice echoing in the area.

Violet didn't know when she got here.

Thank goodness Clyde hadn't come down yet.

She wasn't afraid to tell him that she might really have a twin, but, the fact that this news was related to Asher was what scared her.

A secret twin…

Could she be Tasha?

Suddenly, memories of the event that took place in that mall flooded back.

That manager had been desperate and persistent. He was confident that she was someone else to the point that he tried to harass her.

Tasha.

It had to be her!

What kind of a life had she lived to get involved with such a twisted man as that manager?

“Eat up, Mimi… Ara will take you to school today,” Violet whispered.

She couldn't accompany her daughter to school.

She couldn't let this important case slide.

“Oh, I understand, Mummy…” Mimi nodded, her eyes still shining. “You'll be off to bring home my second Mummy, right?”

Violet could only offer her a smile.

Bring that lady home?

If she found out that she was actually her twin sister, could she bring her here?

After Mimi left for school, Violet also got ready to follow Freya to where Asher was.

She wouldn't alert him that she was also coming, or Asher might deny them the opportunity to see her.

Strangely, Clyde was nowhere to be found.

He didn't even come down for breakfast.

Violet's gloom returned, her mind wandering to the thought that Asher must still be down for what's currently happening with his sister's case.

She'd be back soon.

And maybe, she should stop running from him the way she did last night.

Sigh!

As Freya made the phone call with Asher, asking him about his location, she took several minutes, to gauge the information from him.

While Violet waited in the parking lot, her mind was on Clyde.

She'd glance towards the large doors now and then to see if he would suddenly come out.

Finally, Asher told Freya his location after she lied that she only had something important to tell him.

They were about to get inside the car when the sound of hard steps rushed in their direction.

Violet stilled, almost thinking it was Clyde. As she turned around, however, it was only Harry hurrying towards them.

“Freya Babe, what the… How did you come back!? My men searched everywhere, they were there to rescue you, but-”

He paused, cursing out loud.

“It doesn't matter… Come here, I'm so glad you're safe.” Harry reached out to hug Freya,

However, what she did next left even Violet speechless.

Raising her hand in the air, she delivered a hot slap across his face. “Don't you ever call me babe! Damnit, you heartless gangster, I never want to see you again!”

Then she grabbed Violet's hand and entered the car.

As the real driver drove them out of the Villa, Freya fumed, her shoulders trembling.

Sighing inside, Violet glanced outside at Harry who stood frozen on the spot.

She returned her attention to Freya, noticing the hurt in her eyes. “He'd been worried about you-”

“To hell with his worries!” Freya screamed. Then she burst into tears. “If I knew he was a mob leader, would I have dated him? That idiot lied to me! He just made me realize that I'll always end up with one gangster or another who only wants to make my life miserable!”

Indeed, it was very ironic.

To think that Freya's previous boyfriend turned out to be a drug dealer.

She almost got implicated when he got caught with drugs at the airport.

Thank goodness she was still at the waiting area, and acted quickly by throwing away the welcome home banner that had his name on it.

“It's okay, it'll be fine…” Violet hugged her, rubbing her shoulder gently. “Bad men don't deserve good women… You're better off without him.”

She already had an inkling that Harry wasn't what he claimed to be anyway.

If he actually cared about Freya and wasn't intending to only play her, he would have revealed his real identity right from the beginning.

“I hate him, Vi… I was so carefree around him, thinking he was a poor harmless guy. Why didn't you tell me he was Clyde’s friend.”

Because Violet also didn't know.

She only knew about it the day she visited Clyde in his office.

“Calm down, Best… He's not worth your emotions. You know I'll never allow anything that could harm you.”

“Me too.” Freya sniffled. “That's why I didn't listen to Ash and told you instantly about your twin sis. Nobody is worthy enough to make us keep secrets from each other.”

Violet sighed, chasing the foreboding feeling inside her heart away.

Her twin sister.

She couldn't wait to meet her.
