Chapter 83 Bully Him

Crawford Mansion.

“Mummy, have you seen this?”

“This is so beautiful, Mummy… Can I try it on?”

“Oh, this one looks great! Mummy, do you think Daddy spent a lot of money on it!?”

Of course!

He must have spent millions.

A simple school bag looked like a magical device out of a fairytale.

With these hundreds of school materials, how was Violet going to find a space to put the things she bought?

“You know what? I kind of think reuniting Mimi with her Daddy is a good thing.” Freya sat beside her on the mini couch.

They had to share the small couch because even the bed was filled up with gifts.

Mimi's room was literally jam-packed, and there wasn't a little space to move.

“She's enjoying things you couldn't provide her before.” Freya went on. “I'm so happy that she's living the princess life!”

Violet couldn't believe her best friend's words.

Of course, she could provide Mimi with those things.

She just didn't want to spoil her too much.

“Don't tell me you've started admiring him?” She gave Freya a side-eyed glare.

“Come on, am I blind or what?” Freya groaned. “The hell I'm admiring that cheating dork who only loves to break my bestie's heart!”

“Who's a cheating dork, Aunt Freya?” Mimi was going through the gift boxes, and she paused. “Are you referring to my Daddy?”

Her tiny brows furrowed, and she pouted.

Freya exchanged a nervous glance with Violet.

She quickly changed her words. “Why should I call your Daddy a cheating dork when he's the most handsome and generous man? Mimi, stop listening to adults’ conversations.”

The little girl sighed.

As if she didn't believe Freya's words, she went back to checking the gifts out.

“She's not mad at me, is she?” Freya nudged her silently.

Violet couldn't tell. Mimi was suddenly moody.

Maybe she really did believe that Freya was referring to Clyde.

With her baby always taking that man’s side, she really didn't know what to say.

“Come on, Baby… you can't be mad at your godmother.” Freya picked her up and tickled her. “I'll be sad forever.”

“Stop it!” Mimi screamed, her tiny giggles resounding inside the room. “I'm not mad, Aunt Freya.”

“Your expression said otherwise.” Freya put her down.

“You're the sweetest Aunt in the world, I'm not mad that you hate my Daddy. Mummy hates Daddy too, but it's alright. My Daddy is so wonderful that most people can't love him without breaking their hearts. Only I can love my Daddy wholeheartedly.”

Violet cringed.

Why did she have a feeling that Mimi was attacking them with those words?

She was really hurt, wasn't she?

“Hey, we all love your Daddy. Stop having those thoughts.” Violet pinched her nose.

“If you love my Daddy, why did you chase him out of the bedroom last night and the night before?” Mimi gave her an incredulous look, planting both hands on her waist. “You let Daddy sleep in the living room. That's bad, Mummy.”

Violet parted her lips.

Well, she was speechless.

Freya looked speechless as well, and she was the first to break the silence. “Th- That… how did you know?”

Violet always waited until it was late in the night before she kicked him out.

Mimi should be asleep at those times.

Clyde mustn't have told her about it, did he?

“Ava told me.” Mimi puffed up her cheeks. “It's unfair, Mummy. Grandpa told me not to worry, but you can't keep on bullying my Daddy.”

Grandpa?

How did Clyde’s father know?

“Mimi, how did your Grandpa know about it?” Freya voiced her confusion.

Mimi shrugged. “Grandpa asked me why I was sad yesterday, and I told him.”

Urgh!

Violet groaned inside.

Maybe she should deal with that nosy maid.

Honestly, she couldn't wait for Mimi to start schooling.

Someone knocked on the door and a servant appeared.

“Young Miss, I've been looking for you…” He cleared his throat. “You are summoned to Mrs. Crawford's quarters. She said you should come immediately.”

Violet frowned as the servant turned and left.

Becca summoning her wasn't a good thing.

What was that woman up to?

“Why does that wicked woman want to see you?” Freya whispered in her ear. “I don't like this sudden summon, Vi.”

Violet wasn't a fool.

She wasn't gonna go there, of course.

“Mummy, if you aren't comfortable to see Grandma, how about you wait for Daddy to return so he can excort you there?” Mimi suggested. “My Daddy is strong enough to protect you.”

The little girl seemed to know a lot.

Violet didn't know if she should still blame the maid or commend her baby's intelligence.

“I'll listen to you, Baby. Let's wait for your Daddy to come back.” She patted Mimi's hair.

Opening all the gift boxes would take forever.

But her baby was as energetic as ever, while Violet and Freya were exhausted in no time.

Freya's phone rang.

When she stared at her phone's screen, she smiled. “Heck! I've almost forgotten our appointment. Vi, I'll see you later.”

Then she stood up and left.

Violet sighed.

Freya rarely spent more than thirty minutes with her.

She was always with that waiter guy whom she called her casual fling.

Wasn't she tired?

And wasn't that guy afraid to lose his job?

Violet was sure that his relationship with Freya must be distracting him from work.

“Mummy, I'm thirsty. Can I please have water?” Mimi gave her a pleading look.

Smiling, Violet stood up. “I'll be right back, Baby. Don't wander off.”

She left the room and walked down the hallway.

As Violet passed through the living room downstairs, heading to the kitchen, she thought about Mimi's words.

Well, what's the point in staying mad at Clyde?

It wasn't like she was jealous.

It wasn't like she had feelings for him.

Lost in her thoughts, Violet didn't pay attention to her surroundings as she headed to the kitchen.

She bumped into someone and before she could look at his face, something hard hit the back of her neck and she fainted.
