I wondered why Harris and Jessy didn't move from where they stood, until Fredrick told them to give me their gifts.

Wait,

He made them bring me a gift?

This man loves me so much.

Hahahaha.

No wonder they couldn't leave earlier when we were kissing and exchanging romantic words.

Harris was the first to step forward,

He stretched out the gift box with one hand, while looking somewhere else.

Pfft.

That is his problem.

“Thank you, son.”

I took the gift from him.

When I called him son, he glared at me and then stepped aside.

“Happy birthday, Blair,”

Fredrick cleared his throat, drawing Jessy's attention to himself.

“What was that?”

He asked her when she looked at him.

She quickly bowed her head in apology and then smiled at me.

“Happy birthday, Mother-in-Law.”

Oh, so that was it?

Fredrick doesn’t want them to refer to me as Blair.

Gosh, the look on their faces.

“Thank you everyone for making my birthday a special one, I love you guys a lot.”

An applause followed, then we cut the cake and I fed Fredrick.

But before everyone could leave, he told me he still had some gifts for me.

That baffles me because I thought the diamond ring was all I could get from him.

Everyone waited as Fredrick stepped out, even Harris and Jessy appeared to be interested in knowing what that could be.

When Fredrick returned, they all turned their gazes towards us.

“Open this.”

He gave me a small heart-shaped box, and when I opened it, it had keys inside.

Wait,

Those are car keys.

“Babe!”

I shrieked in joy when it occurred to me that Fredrick had bought me a car.

“Your dream car.”

He showed me the picture.

Of course, my dream car.

I love it a lot because it is the limited edition that was released just a few days ago.

When I was showing him the picture of the car the day it was released, he acted as if he didn’t know what I was doing.

I didn’t know he was going to surprise me with it.

“There is more.”

More?

What else is he giving me?

He pulled out a document from the bag he was holding and gave it to me again.

Wow!

My eyes widened in shock when I realized what that was.

A document belonging to one of his largest estates in the city, and it has my name on it as the owner.

“Babe?”

I covered my mouth, looking at him with tears in my eyes.

“Thank you so much, baby.”

I hugged him tightly.

As others cheered and clapped their hands happily, Harris and Jessy were burning with anger.

This even turned out more than I had imagined.

I didn’t expect so many huge gifts from Fredrick at all.

Harris and Jessy were the first to leave the living room as soon as the party was over.

They were so angry and it gladdens my heart so much.

Now it is time to see the gift they gave me.

I sat on the bed as soon as Fredrick entered the bathroom, tore the sheets off the box Harris gave me but,

What is this?

Harris must be stupid.

Why would he give me an empty box?

Whatever,

Let’s see what Jessy put in hers.

Well,

Hers was the same thing with Harris,

So they decided to give me empty boxes for my birthday? What does that mean?

“What did they give you?”

I was startled when he spoke because I didn’t know he was out of the bathroom.

He collected the box from my hand,

“What is this?”

He asked, turning the box to see if he was the one not seeing it well.

“They gave you an empty box?”

It’s obvious.

“What is wrong with Harris? Why is he acting this way?”

“Perhaps, he is upset with me for marrying you.”

That was a slip of the tongue.

“He must be out of his mind. Doesn’t he know that he is a grown man now? I didn’t remarry when he was a little boy because I was afraid the woman I would marry wouldn’t treat him well,”

“And now that he has gotten married, I see no reason why he should keep deciding for me what he wants.”

Their gifts won’t even mean anything to me,

All the things I received from Fredrick today are enough.

Next morning in the dining room,

“Dad, why would you make Blair the owner of that estate?”

“Have you forgotten how stressful I was when that estate was being built?”

“So what are you implying now?”

Fredrick asked him.

“I want it to be in my name as it should be.”

Harris is out of his mind.

“I spent all my time there, so the place would turn out perfect, but you gave it to someone who doesn’t even know the value of it.”

He said angrily.

I reached for Fredrick’s hand and sighed.

“Baby, I think Harris is right. Maybe you should give the estate back to him.”

Both Harris and Jessy gasped surprisingly at the same time.

But I don’t really mean that,

I just want to see how Fredrick would react to it.

“No, dove, when I give out a thing, I don’t change my mind over it again. That place belongs to you now and all the money earned from it goes straight into your account.”

He turned to Harris.

“When did you start arguing with me over my own property?”

He asked him, but Harris didn’t answer him.

“I own everything, Harris, and I decide on what to do with them. If you dare push me to the limit, I will make sure I seize everything I entrusted to you.”

Hmmm.

“Dad?”

Harris gasped.

“Why are you treating me this way since you married Blair? You have changed a lot, you used to love me, but now you don’t even do what I want anymore.”

He got up.

“You only listen to Blair and do whatever she wants!”

He slapped the table angrily.

“If this keeps going on, Dad, I will be forced to retaliate!”

Fredrick wanted to get up, but I held him back.

I don’t want to see him exchanging words with his son.

Harris glared at me.
