I Married My Ex-fiance’s Father
Chapter 27.
Chapter 27
Even though I tried to forget what happened just like Fredrick said a few days ago at the hospital, I couldn't.
My mind keeps bringing back the memory of all that happened that day.
If not for the doctor who stepped up and covered for me, I have no idea how this family would have turned out.
Maybe Fredrick would have sent Harris and his wife packing,
Or maybe he would have disowned Harris for colliding with his wife to terminate our baby.
I don't know what exactly would have happened, but I still blame myself for everything.
Not for the fact that he got Jessy arrested, but because my stupidity made me lose another baby.
And also for the fact that he still showers me with love even though I lost another baby.
Fredrick loves me so much,
He cares for me and cherishes me more than anything.
To nurture me to health, he has even stopped going to the company for a week now.
If I don't give my heart the chance to love Fredrick, I know I wouldn't be doing myself a good thing.
I know I love him too, but just controlling myself not to fall deeply and let my mission go to waste.
But now, I want to love him back and cherish him the way he cherishes me.
Perhaps the miscarriage is a sign for me to open my heart to him.
“Are you sure you aren't feeling anything?”
He asked after giving me my medication.
I forced a smile at him, threw them in my mouth, and drank a little water.
“I am fine, baby.”
I said.
“But you have lost tons of weight, and you have gotten a little dark.”
Yeah, I know.
Its all because I have being so worried these days.
“I think its normal.”
I smiled at him.
Well, Frederick didn't argue, but I know he doesn't believe that could be the reason I lost weight.
“Tell me whatever you want and I will give it to you right now.”
He said.
Hmm.
Is there anything I want from him?
Oh wait,
I think I do.
I want that oil bank company.
But I don't have the energy to take any revenge now.
“Nothing.”
I said, placing my head on the pillow.
“But you were disturbing me about it a few weeks ago.”
“Yeah.”
I bobbed my head and closed my eyes with a sigh.
“Are you sleepy?”
He touched my face.
“Yes.”
“Okay, I will go to the study room while you take a nap.”
The moment he stepped out of the room, the tears I had been controlling streamed down my face.
I am so sorry, Frederick,
Grrrrrr
My phone rang.
It’s Mum.
“What are you still doing in that house?”
Ahh,
“Mum,”
“Do not call me. What did we agree on?”
“Please stop talking about this, Mum.”
She got furious.
“Are you out of your mind? You said you would leave the house after a few months, but your anniversary is in a few weeks.”
What anniversary?
Wait a second,
Our first anniversary!
Wow!
How time flies.
“I think it is high time I come to that house and drag you away.”
“Please do not do that.”
I pleaded worriedly.
I know Mum can do that, so I have to stop her from now.
“And why are you talking this way?”
“Mum, I am sick.”
“You are pregnant, right? I knew it!”
“No, I am not. It's just…”
“I am coming over to that house right away!”
She hung up on me.
Oh no!
Mum can't come.
Fredrick is around, and she would only come here to make trouble.
I have to call Dad to stop her from coming here.
“Dad please, stop Mum from coming to my place. She doesn't like my husband and anytime she comes, she always treats him badly.”
He sighed over the phone.
“Laurene is a troublemaker. But don't worry, I will stop her right now. How have you been?”
Thank goodness.
“Good, Dad. What about you?”
“Good too, baby. I wanted to talk to you about something important, are you free?”
What could that be?
“Yes.”
I hope I haven't done anything to him.
“Blair, you have been married for almost a year now, but I haven't seen you with a baby bump. What is going on? Are you having problems in your marriage?”
Hmm.
“No, daddy. The truth is I have had two miscarriages, but the doctor said I will conceive again in a meantime.”
“Oh, I am relieved now. I thought you…”
He paused and then continued.
“Do not worry about it, okay? You will give birth to as many kids as you want.”
I hope so.
“Dad, please do not let Mum or anyone know about my miscarriages.”
Hell will let loose if Mum finds out.
“Trust me, baby, she won't hear it.”
He chuckled softly.
“Baby, you know how much your husband loves you, right? I want you to live in peace with him, okay? Do not cause any problem for him, and do not disrespect him.”
Sighs.
“Yes, Daddy. Thanks for your words of encouragement always.”
That's why I always love my Daddy.
He wants me to stay in the marriage for the rest of my life,
Unlike Mum who wants me out of this marriage at any cost.
Well,
My main prayer now is for him to succeed in stopping her from coming to the mansion.
“Where are you going?”
I heard him asking her over the phone.
“To see a friend.”
Whoa!
So mum has been lying to Dad whenever she wants to come to my place?
“You can't go, I want you to do something for me.”
“But it is important.”
She argued.
“Is it more important than your marriage?”
She didn't say a word again, and I heard her walking away.
“Do not worry, I have stopped her.”
Phew!
What a relief.
“You weren't sleeping?”
Fredrick asked when he returned to the room.
“I was on the phone with Dad.”
He shrugged his shoulders.
“How is he doing? It has been a long time since I saw him.”
He said.
“He is fine, and he sent his regards.”
I dropped the phone on the bedside table and closed my eyes.
“Do you need anything?”
He asked and I shook my head.
“Okay then, I will see you later.”
He pecked my forehead and then left the room.
