I Married My Ex-fiance’s Father
Chapter 28.
Chapter 28
Because I haven't stepped out of the room since we returned from the hospital, I haven't seen Jessy.
But today, I saw her sitting in the living room upstairs when I stepped out of the room.
She scowled when she saw me,
But I don't blame her.
She has every right to even insult me now and I won't say a word to her.
She is heavily pregnant yet, but my mistake led her to prison.
“Blair?”
She called as soon as I walked past her.
I halted, waiting for her to say what she wanted to say so I would go away.
“Do you think I will let you go for what you did to me?”
Hmmm.
“I was sick that day yet, you had your husband lock me in prison. I swear, I won’t rest until I take revenge on that.”
Tsk tsk tsk
“Be careful, Jessy, you will only put yourself in more trouble if you do that. Fredrick won’t let you go, you know.”
She hissed.
“I don’t care what Fredrick would do, I won’t let you go this time. And if this is how you want us to play it, then game on!”
She stormed away.
Whatever!
——
For the first time since Jessy got pregnant, both she and Harris didn't play love birds on the dining table today.
Everyone was so quiet as if we were all enemies sitting in one place.
But Fredrick cleared his throat, and broke the silence,
“What happened a few days ago,”
He got our attention.
“It was a mistake. I thought Jessy was behind my wife’s miscarriage again because she was the one who caused it the last time.”
Is he trying to apologize to them?
I hope not.
“See? You should always make investigations first before taking action, Dad. I told you my wife can never do that.”
Pffft.
“That’s enough, Harris, I heard you.”
He sipped his coffee.
“Even though you weren’t behind it, I want you to mind your business in this house because you always forget that Blair is superior to you.”
Whoa!
Hahaha.
Jessy didn't like that.
She gave me a dreadful look when Fredrick warned her.
Didn’t she say ‘Game on’ earlier?
Then let’s see if she still wants to play the game.
“Dad?”
Fredrick raised his hand.
“When I talk, do not interrupt me, Harris.”
Harris sighed.
“Yes, Dad, and I promise never to do anything that will make Blair end up in the hospital.”
Jessy said.
“No, I think you should just call me by my name since my wife’s name is too delicate in your mouth. Since you don’t regard her, then you shouldn’t regard me as well.”
Funny man.
Jessy didn't say a word, nor did Harris.
And after a few seconds of silence,
Fredrick wiped his mouth with a tissue, tossed it in the bin nearby, and picked up his briefcase from the chair opposite him on the left.
He unzipped it, brought out a paper, and put down the bag.
“Dad, what is that?”
Harris asked, his face full of delight.
Is he expecting anything from Fredrick?
The way he is beaming in delight shows Harris wants something from his Dad.
“You remember my oil bank company?”
Harris dropped his spoon and nodded his head.
“Of course, how can I forget that?”
He chuckled.
Wait,
That is the company I want to request from Fredrick.
He isn’t going to hand it over to Harris, right?
“I heard it made about three billion dollars in profit this month.”
Wow!
That is huge.
“Yes. That company is doing so well.”
Fredrick bobbed his head.
“I also heard the manager has resigned.”
Harris said again, and this time, he was grinning from ear to ear.
“I transferred him to another company, he didn’t resign. I just want to replace him with a competent person.”
“Wow, really? Okay.”
This man can’t do this to me.
Maybe he wants to hand over the company to Harris.
If he did, then I am at a loss.
And Harris will look down on me,
Worse, Jessy will keep mocking me for the rest of her life.
“Here.”
I didn’t know he was talking to me until he tapped me.
He handed over the paper to me to take a look.
“I have found someone who can take care of that company,”
He went on.
“And that person is my little dove here.”
“What!”
Both Harris and Jessy exclaimed at once.
I was confused by their reactions because I didn’t even know he was referring to me.
“Dad, Blair is a woman, she can’t manage that company.”
He protested.
“Yes, Harris knows everything about that company, he should be the one to take over.”
Jessy was as desperate and worried as Harris was.
But Fredrick only smiled and got up.
“I have made my choice, Blair isn’t only taking over as the manager, but as the president. That company now belongs to her.”
What!
OMG!
“Dad? You can’t do that. That company is…”
“Is it yours or mine?”
He frowned at Harris.
“Little dove?”
He tapped my shoulder again because out of shock, my ears had ceased to hear anything again.
“Give me the paper, I won’t leave it with you this time. It will be in my possession, but I will give you a photocopy of it.”
Is he serious right now?
This came as a shock because I never expected he would give me anything again talk more of the oil Bank company.
Wow!
What a lucky girl I am.
“And just so you know, it is in exchange for the estate you took away from her.”
Harris sprang up.
“Dad, take away that estate and give me the oil bank, I don’t need it anymore.”
Is he out of his mind?
“Blair, please talk to dad, I will give you back the estate and all that I have earned from it, give me the oil bank, please, that is my dream company.”
Harris was so helpless and he looked like he could cry.
Wonderful!
Now, Revenge feels good.
