“Mrs. Fredrick?”

He removed his gloves and the nose mask.

“Why do you keep doing this?”

Doing what?

What did I do again?

“Please tell me what is happening.”

He threw the gloves in the bin angrily.

“You aborted another pregnancy,”

What!

Everything froze instantly.

An abortion?

No,

I can never do that.

I couldn't help but break down in tears.

“Pretending to cry won't help you. You know how much this man loves to have kids yet, you keep getting rid of them. If you don't care about your health, don't you care about his feelings?”

I didn't do that,

“I swear I didn't do it, I have no idea how this happened.”

I cried out, but he didn't believe me.

My legs gave way and I fell on my knees.

I couldn't control myself any longer and I burst into heartbreaking tears.

“Please do not inform Fredrick.”

I pleaded in tears.

“I am sorry, but he has to know what is going on. Mr. Fredrick must keep an eye on you from now on, Blair. If this continues, you are going to damage your uterus and you won't be able to hold a child anymore.”

Who could have done this to me?

I know I didn't take any pills.

“Someone must have put it in my meal,”

I said, wiping my face.

“Do not turn it around, just accept the fact that you did it.”

He left the room again.

I had no choice but to return home since the doctor wouldn't listen to me anymore.

While going upstairs hopelessly, I bumped into Harris.

“Blair, are you alright? Your eyes are swollen?”

He asked, but I ignored him.

Why should I even tell him what is happening?

“Blair?”

He called, but I still ignored him.

He tried to hold my hand, but I stepped aside and turned to him.

“Stay away from me!”

I yelled at him and entered the room.

An hour passed, but Frederick didn't call or come home,

Maybe the doctor didn't tell him,

He must pity me again just like the last time.

I hope he doesn't tell Frederick,

I don't even feel any discomfort so, it will be so hard for him to know I've had a miscarriage unless the doctor tells him.

Sighs.

When I stood up from the bed to go to the bathroom, the door opened and Mum came in.

“Mum?”

What is she doing here at this time?

This isn't the right time for her to come see me.

“Pack your things and let's leave.”

What!

No, I can't.

“Didn't you hear what I said?”

“Why should I leave? This is my husband’s house.”

She sneered.

“Have you forgotten what you and I discussed a few months ago? Didn't you tell me you would leave the marriage as soon as you are done with what brought you here?”

I broke into tears, but she went straight to the closet and started throwing out my dresses one after the other.

“You are leaving with me, Blair, nothing will stop me from taking you away, not even Fredrick!”

I tried to stop her, but she pushed me away instead and I fell on the floor.

“Mum, please!”

I cried out, but she kept doing what she was doing.

“I can't believe this!”

She shrieked angrily.

“A little girl like you, marrying someone who is the same age as your Dad!”

What is wrong with that?

I love my man.

“Mum, please!”

She threw out a box, packed my dresses in it, and picked up her handbag from the floor.

“We are going home now!”

“You can't take my wife away!”

Fredrick stormed in.

Thank goodness!

I ran to him and held his hand.

“Your wife?”

Mum scoffed.

“Blair isn't your wife, she doesn't love you. What brought her into this house is to take revenge on your stupid son. And now that she has done that, it is time for her to leave as promised.”

“Mum!”

She sneered.

“Was I lying?”

She brought her phone out of her bag and tapped on it.

Shockingly, my voice started playing on it.

Mum recorded the conversation we had that day!

“Blair?”

Fredrick's eyes widened in shock.

He stepped away from me, shaking his head.

“Please, forgive me, baby. Please.”

Since I couldn't refute what he heard on the phone, I went on my knees, begging him.

“You said you love me.”

He pointed at his chest, his eyes turning red.

“But you never did.”

“I do love you, baby, I swear, I have fallen in love with you.”

He sighed deeply and tossed a paper at me.

I thought it was a divorce paper until I picked it up.

“When the doctor told me you aborted another pregnancy, I slapped him, thinking he was lying to me,”

Ahh!

“Why would you slap him for saying the truth?”

Mum scoffed.

“Blair has been using pills so she wouldn't conceive for you because she doesn't love you.”

Oh my Goodness!

“Blair?”

Fredrick called in anger.

“Is that true?”

He thundered at me.

“Yes. But this time, I didn't take anything, please believe me, baby.”

“Do not baby me!”

He pushed me away when I held his leg.

“You know what?”

Please don't say it,

“Go home with your mum, you are no longer needed here.”

“Please baby, do not send me away. I love you so much.”

Fredrick wasn't even moved by my tears and he stormed out of the room.

Why would this happen all of a sudden?

We were happy this morning.

“You are a shameless girl, Blair. Crying for a man you don't love?”

She hissed.

“Stand up now, we are going home! Fredrick no longer needs you.”
