Chapter 49.

As soon as he left,

I turned to Harris who was scowling.

“How could you…”

He raised his hand.

“Do not waste your energy on that, Blair. He isn’t legit. If you want to purchase an estate, leave it to me. I will find you a good agent.”

Is he kidding me?

Does Harris think I am a fool?

Me, trust him with my money?

He must be out of his mind.

“Have you forgotten who you are, Harris?”

If he has forgotten, then I will remind him.

“You don't trust me? Have you forgotten the…”

Seriously?

I didn't wait for him to finish what he wanted to say before I walked away.

And since I was interested in the estates, I went to his office the next day.

At first, he was hesitant to my request because of Harris's threat.

“Do not get scared, Mr. Thomas, there is nothing Mr. Harris can do to you.”

He sighed deeply and adjusted his glasses on his face.

“You are the assistant, right?”

He asked my assistant who was talking to him.

“Yes.”

“I am afraid of Harris because there is nothing he can not do.”

Like seriously?

Then he shouldn't have told me to come to his office if he wasn't going to do business with me.

“You know what? I am out of here. There are a lot of real estate agents who need buyers. I think I should go look for them instead.”

I slowly stood up from the chair.

“Who knows? Harris might be right that you aren't legit.”

The assistant carried my handbag, but Thomas stopped when he saw that I was serious about leaving.

“Mr. Frederick and I are good business partners so, I don't think it will be wise of me to refuse you an estate.”

Pfft.

“Here, Mrs. Frederick.”

He placed a bunch of files on the desk and passed them to me.

“These are the estates available, and they are brand new. There are 12 of them in total, each having 500 apartments in it. Inside, there is a recreational center, a playground, a shopping mall, and a public swimming pool.”

Wow!

That sounds amazing.

“All of them have those places. Six are in downtown, while six are uptown.”

Those are the places I definitely want to have a business place in.

“Prices?”

His face lit up a bit when I asked about the prices.

“500 million dollars for each.”

Hmmm,

“What do you think?”

I asked my assistant who was going through the files one after the other.

“What is your last price, Mr. Thomas?”

Well,

I ended up paying 4.9 million dollars each and bought all 12 of them.

Great!

I am now part of those who own estates in this city.

Not even 1, but I bought 12 in a go.

Wow!

This is all thanks to Frederick for coming into my life.

Now, let’s see how Harris will reach this.

“Ma’am?”

Oh, I almost forgot.

“I want my full name boldly written on them today.”

Yes,

Having my name on all the estates will make it go viral in the city and it will get to Harris before the day runs out.

When Frederick returned home in the evening, I showed him all the files of the estates which are now in my name.

“You know, I am so excited that you have fallen under the richest people in this city. Keep rising, my little dove, I love you so much, and I love the woman you are becoming.”

Awn,

“It's all thanks to you, baby. I achieved what I did from the oil bank you handed over to me. Without it, I don't think I will ever purchase an estate in my name. But now, I've bought 12.”

He chuckled softly, then drew me closer to himself.

“You deserve more than that, little dove. Just keep giving me joy, okay?”

Of course I will.

Who would I give joy to if not him?

During dinner,

When Harris didn't talk about the estates,

I brought up the topic.

“Baby, do you like the estates?”

I asked Frederick, while stealing a glance at Harris who was devouring food like a hungry lion.

“Oh, yes. They are so huge, and I like the way those apartments were arranged. They look like a mini city.”

Harris lifted a brow curiously.

“What estates are you guys talking about?”

Uhn?

Weird.

He hasn't learned of them yet?

But how?

I thought everyone might be talking about it now.

“You don't know?”

Frederick asked him.

“No.”

He shook his head.

“Did you buy more estates?”

His face brightened up.

“No. Blair did.”

The fork in Harris’s hand slipped out of his hand.

“She bought 12 estates today. And guess what? They are so huge.”

Harris sprang up.

“What!”

He exclaimed shockingly.

“Blair did what?”

Just the reaction I wanted to see.

“Yes, Harris. It's all thanks to my baby here for gifting me a huge company. I got all that money from the profits we made.”

“And you utilized it in a good way.”

He tickled my chin.

“Unlike some people who only lavish money around.”

He added.

I couldn't help but laugh at what he said because I knew he was referring to Harris.

“But, Dad, that is unfair.”

Uhn?

“How is buying an estate unfair?”

He asked him.

“You gave her that huge amount of money to…”

“Excuse me, young man.”

Fredrick raised his hand, cutting Harris off.

“Do you have any idea how much she earned as a profit in one week?”

I bet he doesn't know.

“She earned a billion dollars every week, you fool. Have you ever made that kind of money before?”

“Every week?”

Harri’s eyes widened in shock.

“Blair has that kind of money in this house?”

What does he think?

“Of course, stepson. Your step-mum isn't an idle woman.”

Frederick giggled.

“You can say that again, little dove.”

Harris bit his lips angrily and stormed out of the dining area.
