I Married My Ex-fiance’s Father
Chapter 53.
Chapter 53
~FREDERICK~
Even though I have gone through all this nonsense in the past, it still scares me that the reputation of my family is at stake.
Especially Blair whom I love so much.
Not only that,
She is pregnant,
And it terrifies me that this whole thing will affect her and the baby.
No matter what,
I must see that these things are resolved before they get out of hand.
“Mr. Frederick?”
“Mr. Reece?”
Why is he here?
Oh, he must be worried about his daughter too.
“There is a huge problem?”
What other problem again?
“The news reaching me now is, Blair has been arrested.”
What!
My eyes widened in shock.
“Yes, Kylie told me. She was with Blair in your house because I sent her there to keep her company. What is the next thing to do?”
Hmmm
“Leave it to me, Mr. Reece, I will deal with them.”
He sighed.
“Trust me.”
After saying that, I got into the car and sped out of there.
How on earth did that even happen?
I thought I instructed the security never to allow any outsider into the house.
Why then would he open the gate for those idiots?
“Where is my wife?”
I asked the chief of the cops as soon as I barged into the headquarters.
However, he was confused.
“Did another idiot go and arrest your wife without my consent again?”
Is he kidding me?
“Look, I am not here for any games. Kindly show me where Blair is before I lose it!”
He shook his head, sighing deeply.
“These people are going to kill me before my time.”
Surprisingly, Blair wasn’t in any of the cells there,
And she wasn’t in the prison either,
Neither is she hidden in any of the rooms.
My heart thumped against my rib cage when I couldn’t find her.
How is that possible?
This is the only cops’ headquarters in the city.
The rest are mini stations and I am sure none of them would arrest my wife.
“Why not try the other stations, Mr. Frederick? Maybe we can find her in any of them.”
The chief suggested.
He in turn gave a call across all the stations in the city, but none had seen Blair.
Even in the news, there is nothing about her being arrested.
“This is weird.”
Her sister, Kylie said when I returned home.
“They were all over the place, carrying guns and dressed as cops. And there were paparazzi too, filming the whole thing.”
She halted and turned to me.
“Frederick, do you think those people are fake?”
The moment she said that, reality hit me.
Those weren’t real cops, and the paparazzi weren’t real either.
Blair has been kidnapped.
“Was she kidnapped?”
She sprang up, her eyes widening in shock.
It is obvious that she is.
Gosh!
Who is playing with flame?
My wife, kidnapped?
“Jessy!”
She said again, wiping her tears.
“Jessy was the one who brought them into the room. She knows them.”
Wonderful!
At first, I was hooked, and now, the investigation starts.
“Jessy?”
I shouted as I headed towards her room, but got no response.
This girl is crazy,
How dare she conspire with people to take my wife away?
I kicked the door open, startling the daylight out of them.
“Dad!”
Harris gasped.
What nonsense!
In the middle of the turbulence, they have the guts to be making out?
“Who were those fools you brought into my house to arrest my wife?”
Harris looked at her.
“What fools? Those were the cops, and I showed them the room so they would arrest the murderer.”
She smirked.
Pak!
Good.
“Harris, you slapped me?”
“If you don’t tell the truth now, I swear, I will have you locked up in prison again.”
I threatened.
Harris got down from the bed, scolding her.
“What is wrong with you, Jessy? Can’t you just stay within your limit? Why on earth would you direct the cops to the room my Dad sleeps in?”
He turned to me.
“Dad, I swear I have no hand in this. I didn't even know she would do it.”
So it is obvious that Jessy kidnapped my wife.
“If you don’t tell us where she is now, you will confess after being brutally beaten.”
“Please do not do that.”
She cried out.
“I don’t know those people, trust me. They only came looking for Blair and I showed them the room.”
Trust who?
Jessy?
That is the last thing I will ever do on this earth.
“Jessy, stop lying and tell the truth. Dad will forgive you. But if you don’t, things won’t turn out well. Please, speak the truth. Tell us where we can find Blair.”
Harris pleaded with her.
“Seriously I don’t know.”
She cried out.
“If you don't confess here, you will, after being tortured.”
I stormed out of the room.
“Did she mention where Blair is?”
Kylie asked, sniffling.
“She didn’t. But I know what to do.”
I went inside the room, called the cops, and returned to the living room.
The moment I sat down, Jessy stepped out of the room, carrying a bag.
And what is she doing this time?
“Where do you think you are going?”
Harris snapped at her from the room.
He came out and stacked the bag she was holding.
“You want to run away?”
He asked after seeing the contents in her bag.
“Yes, I am leaving. There is no way I will stay in this house where no one trusts me.”
She must be out of her mind.
Doesn’t she know that the cops are the only people to take her out of this house?
“Look, you are going nowhere until you tell us where Blair is.”
Harris grabbed her wrist.
“Leave me alone, Harris. Stop doing this to me.”
She cried.
“Doing what? You are the one who is doing this to yourself? Can’t you just develop some sense already? You spent one month in prison, which was enough to have reset your brain. Yet, it didn’t, and you came up with this. What do you really want, Jessy?”
Isn’t it good that Harris has developed some sense?
Now he is acting like an adult who is my son.
Whatever she must have done to control his mind before is no longer working.
While he was still holding her hand, the cops arrived.
“Are you serious about this?”
Jessy asked me, crying.
“Does this look like a joke to you?”
Harris shoved her to the cops.
“Take her away and torture her until she confesses.”
He added.
