I Married My Ex-fiance’s Father

Chapter 60.

Chapter 60

Chapter 60.

During our first marriage anniversary, a lot of things transpired that ruined the celebration Frederick was planning for us.

I was sent packing, then got a second chance from the love of my life.

And now, it is our second anniversary, and Frederick kept his word when he said it would be a grand one.

And when he said that, I never thought he wanted to make me walk down the aisle with him.

He said I am too young to just have a marriage without a wedding, and if he denies me that, then it means he doesn't want my dream to come true.

Well, he was correct.

But I have long accepted my fate,

I knew I would never have a wedding again, and I was so happy with it, not until he delivered a package of the most expensive wedding dress with diamonds embroidered on it in his favorite flowers this morning.

“Your husband does love you, Blair.”

Kylie said, tickling Alina's soft cheek.

Alina is our baby,

The baby I gave birth to four months ago.

Now, the doctor informed us we were expecting a baby boy,

However, I delivered a set of twins, shocking even the doctor.

The scan showed that I was carrying a kid, but it turned out to be two in the delivery room.

That day, Frederick was the happiest man on earth.

He was expecting a baby boy, but got a boy and a girl.

“Are you just noticing?”

I giggled, putting away the feeding bottle.

“No, but Frederick keeps acting like he has just fallen in love with you.”

She sighed.

“What?”

“I hope I find someone as sweet and romantic as Frederick.”

Funny.

That has been her prayer point forever.

“Where is Mum? I didn't see her after the wedding.”

Kylie changed the baby’s position and shrugged her shoulders.

“I don't know. Maybe she is outside.”

Outside?

Since she wasn't at the hotel where the wedding took place, I doubt she is in this house.

“Junior is with Frederick, right?”

I asked her while getting up from the bed.

“Yes.”

“Wait for me here, I will go bring him, it is time to feed him.”

Surprisingly, Frederick wasn't in the living room upstairs, the nursery, or the living room downstairs.

Could he be in his study room?

I thought and headed towards there.

However, my ears caught a familiar voice speaking inside the study room, and it made me wonder why.

So, I positioned myself at the door and placed my ear to the door.

“Can't you understand?”

Frederick spoke.

“This isn't right you know.”

What is he talking about?

“Come on, Frederick, we can do it. It has always been our dream you know.”

And that voice, I think I know it.

“Yes, but that was in the past. Now we are grown-ups, and we have kids. Also, your daughter is my wife, and she has just given birth to me.”

Wait a second,

“Then divorce her!”

What!

My heart pounded against my rib cage, and beads of sweat gathered on my face.

With trembling hands, I reached for the doorknob and opened the door.

“Mum?”

I called, my voice full of disappointment.

“Blair?”

Both she and Frederick gasped at the same time.

What are they up to?

And what does she mean by ‘it has always been their dreams? Are they cheating on me?

“Wh…what are you guys doing here?”

Who am I kidding?

Of course, they are cheating on me.

But she is my mum,

She gave birth to me.

Why would she do this to me?

Is this why she hates me?

I also overheard her tell Frederick to divorce me.

Will she marry him if he does?

“Are you really my mum?”

I asked in a trembling voice, tears flowing down my face.

“Blair, please calm down, it isn't what you are thinking.”

Frederick tried holding me, but I stepped away from him.

“I can't believe this,”

I turned to leave, but Dad entered the room.

“Dad?”

It was too late for me to wipe the tears on my face because he had already seen them.

“What is going on here?”

He asked, looking at the three of us one after the other.

When he looked at Mum, he shook his head.

“Laurene? Are you sure something isn't wrong with you?”

He got angry.

“Why must you let your heart control you to this extent? Are you not ashamed of yourself for trying to ruin your daughter’s life? What will be your gain if her husband divorces her? So you will marry him?”

He knows?

“Yes!”

She screamed in tears.

“He is the man I love, but you came and ruined the whole thing for me?”

What!

“I told you I never loved you, but you ignored me and went ahead to marry me.”

“It was our parents’ decision, woman, do not blame me! I also didn't want the marriage, but I had no choice!”

He snapped at her.

“Blair? Do you want to know why your Mum hated Harris and wanted you to divorce Frederick?”

I bobbed my head,

“Frederick was the man she fell in love with in high school, but her parents wouldn't allow her to marry him because they had another man in mind for her, me.”

Oh my God!

He turned towards her.

“You should be so ashamed of yourself, Laurene. Blair is your child. You shouldn't have done this if she were your stepchild, but she is your biological child. Can't you just leave her alone?

Frederick loves this girl, and she loves him too. And for your information, he isn't going to marry you if he divorces Blair.

If you will accept your fate now, then do it and leave them alone!”

Gosh!

No wonder she has been hating me since Harris came into my life.

A year ago when I visited them and told them I was pregnant, Mum tried to poison me so I would lose the baby. And on that day, I had a feeling that there must be something Frederick or Harris had done to her.

I didn't know it was love,

But she shouldn't have done this.

“Frederick?”

I called and he turned to me.

“Is it I whom you love or my mum?”

Mum wiped her tears, staring at him.

“It is you, Blair.”

Then he looks at Mum.

“Laurene, it is high time you stopped this. It's too late for you and me to get back together. Besides, I have long forgotten you since the day you got married.”

Mum burst into tears and stormed out of the room.

“Please, Blair, do not get angry over this, okay? Your husband loves you so much, and I promise your mum won't disturb you anymore.”

And Dad kept his word.

Mum never comes to visit again,

And anytime I go to the house, she doesn't bring up any topic that would cause misunderstanding between us.

On the other hand, Frederick didn't change, he continued showering me with love, affection, and care.
