Chapter 30

Vivienne nearly choked. Ignored Sterling’s order? What an audacity.

Though she has never seen him before, she knew that he was a well respected person in that city and beyond.

No one dare disobey him unless the person was tired of his job and stay in that city.

And to say that someone working under him in his company ignored his order?

“What’s wrong with you, Marcus? What has come over your head?” she slapped his bicep.

“I’m sorry Vivienne. But luckily, my job is still intact because Mr. Hawthorn doesn’t know anything about that.” He heaved of relief.

“He wants to meet you.” he announced.

“And you didn’t tell me since the day you were instructed? I can see you have now become a part of Sebastian’s crew. The ones that doesn’t want my progress.” she left the sofa.

“That’s not it, Vivienne. I’m so sorry, do not blame me.” he pleaded.

“I’ll go get ready and we’ll leave. There’s no way you’ll make me lose my job.” She went inside the bedroom leaving Marcus in the living room.

“Oh God, what’s wrong with me.” He patted his chest.

“If Assistant Mike hasn’t returned back to warn me of the outcome, I wouldn’t have even cared to do this just because I’m now feeling big.” he shook his head.

( What an angel)

Vivienne stepped out of the room dressed in a deep blue gown with a split from the leg to the knee.

The dress shone brightly which was a match with her blue glimmering shoes and blue diamond pouch.

“Wow!” Marcus exclaimed.

Not only her dress was an elegant one, even her skin was an eye catching.

Vivienne really took care of herself especially her skin which was now like the way it was before she got married.

“How do I look?” she asked him turning around for him to see.

“Beautiful, Vivienne. Beautiful. I have never seen an angel like you before.” He blew her a kiss.

“Stop flirting with me and let’s go. Hope you’ve already informed him we are coming?” she asked, adjusting her gown.

“No, I didn’t. But we aren’t going to his company. There are lots of people there and they won’t let you be when they see you.” Vivienne raised a brow.

“So, I’ve booked a reservation at the most expensive and safest restaurant in this city,”

Vivienne nodded her head. That sounded good. She too wanted to ask him if they would be going straight to the company or not.

Since they would be passing through the public before entering the restaurant, Vivienne thought it was best she covered her face like she has always done.

She returned back to the room, picked out a scarf that matched with her dress and stepped out.

“Don’t tell me you are wrapping that.” She ignored him and wrapped it.

“If I don’t, people are going to recognize me.” She led the way and he followed her out of the house.

When they arrived at the restaurant, Marcus walked side by side with her so no one would think if that was Vivienne or not.

Even though from her nose to her chin was covered, her eyes were visible.

Everyone that knew Vivienne knew about her glimmering grey eyes. And just by looking at her face, they’ll discover it is her.

“You’ll have to wait for me her, Ms. Vivienne to go get Mr. Hawthorn,” he said after Vivienne sat on the soft leather sofa.

“You are going back to the company to bring him?” she asked, putting her purse on the table.

“No, I think he should be outside by now,” he said.

“Alright, you have to be fast. I don’t think I can stay here for long,” Marcus nodded his head.

He left and went down the floor to go get Sterling and Assistant Mike who called him they’ve arrived.

“Mr. Hawthorn.” Marcus bowed.

“I’m so sorry for not bringing Vivienne to you yesterday or the day before yesterday. Vivienne has been busy that’s why.”

Assistant Mike’s jaw dropped. Vivienne has been busy or he didn’t want to bring her?

“Lead the way, Mr. Marcus. We have no time to waste here.” Assistant Mike spoke.

Marcus hissed inside. He wasn’t talking to Assistant Mike but their Boss.

He took them inside the restaurant, to the third floor where Vivienne await them.

“You both can wait here, I’ll have a one on one conversation with her,” Sterling ordered.

They bowed their heads and stayed far away from the desk as Sterling walked up to Vivienne.

Even before he could see her face, he was already impressed by her dress.

She’s indeed a fashion goddess. And her bare back shun brightly.

“Hello Vivienne.” Sterling greeted from the back.

Vivienne was startled but got control of herself. She inhaled deeply before turning her face to look at him.

“Oh hi, Mr. Hawthorn. You are finally here.” She stood up from the chair and shook hands with him with smiles all over her face.

Sterling smiled back. He sat on the chair facing her and their conversation unfolded.

“I don’t know why Mr. Hawthorn decided to create a department just for me and I would like to know,”

Sterling chuckled softly. Even the way she spoke, it was so smooth and soothing to the mind.

Sitting in front of Vivienne, his dreams has already come true not to even talk of working together with her.

“Well… Who wouldn’t want to steal Vivienne away from the company that doesn’t know her worth?” he asked her.

Vivienne giggled. She was happy someone like Sterling saw the best in her and chose her when she was rejected by her old company.

“That’s so nice of you, Mr. Hawthorn. And I’m grateful. Vivienne here will do anything to make you proud of her and to make your company the talk of the city.”

“My company is already the talk of the city even before introducing the new department. But with your acting skills, I think it’s going to go beyond this Continent. Maybe all over the world,”

Vivienne laughed shortly. Her laugh was a morning bell in his ears.

What a nice woman she is. Sterling thought she wouldn’t be as lively as that. Maybe she wouldn’t smile with him because she’s an actress.

But he was wrong. The Vivienne sitting in front of him was just so perfect. No wonder everyone likes her and no wonder he fell in love with her movies with the first one he saw.

“So when are we starting to work together? I’m so eager to return back to the screen,” Vivienne asked.

Everything she wanted to do, she already done that and the only thing she looked forward to now was to see herself in the television.

“That’s up to you to decide. I don’t want to force you, Ms. Vivienne. You look fragile,” he teased.

Vivienne laughed again. What a joke. How would she look fragile when she wasn’t an egg?

“I’m not an egg, Mr. Hawthorn.” she said.

“Oh great, of course you are. And it’s our responsibility to take care of you. Hope you won’t mind me taking care of you?”

Why would she mind. Vivienne was all over the moon when Sterling mentioned that.

She didn’t know he held her in a high prestige to even treat her like that.

That was the kind of treatment she never got from Sebastian even when they were still courting.

And now, she was getting it from a well known business tycoon in the country? What a blessing for her hard days.

“Thank you so much Mr. Hawthorn, I really appreciate your care towards me.” She bowed her head a little.

“You don’t have to thank me, Vivienne. Here…” He brought out his phone from the suit pocket.

“Can Ms. Vivienne honor me with her number? I’ll like to keep in touch with you.”

“Of course, you can even see Vivienne whenever you like.” she took the phone from him and punched in her number then handed it back.

“Thank you, I’ll surely want to see your everyday.”

Who wouldn’t want to see a beauty every second of their lives? Unless that person’s heart is made of rock.

Vivienne hoped he didn’t misunderstood her statement. By seeing her everyday, she didn’t mean anything other than business.

( You are so nice, Vivienne)

“It’s been so long everyone heard about you, Vivienne. Can you tell me what took you away from the people aside your marriage? Some people said your husband was the one that stopped you from acting after the marriage.”

Sterling wanted to know. He too was so curious to know what kept her away from the people.

“Well…” She adjusted her sitting.

“That’s a personal issue I don’t want to talk about with anyone. I’m sorry Mr. Hawthorn, but I can’t tell you now.” She gave him a smile.

Sterling understood not all things are comfortable enough to tell to a third party. And since she said it was personal, then he has no choice than left her alone.

If she want to say it, she’s with him now and will tell it to him when she’s ready.

“Let’s order something, right? Don’t want to keep your throat dry.” Sterling lifted up his head and signaled to Assistant Mike.

“Oh that’s great, what a gentleman you are, Mr. Hawthorn,” Vivienne giggled.

Assistant Mike came, he received the signal from Sterling again and made his way out of the reservation spot.

“How does your Assistant understand your sign language? That’s weird.” she said confusingly.

Sterling too didn’t know and he would like to know. All he knew was, Assistant Mike has always knew whatever he signaled to him since the first day he started working for him.

And that was great because he wasn’t the type that speaks a lot.

When he became the president of the company, his Mum was afraid he was not going to get along with him employees because of the way he doesn’t talk much with anyone.

Except his late Mum and now Vivienne who were the only people he talk to comfortably.

“I have no idea. Maybe because we are close.” He raised a brow.

Vivienne giggled. She lowered her eyes when he raised a brow.

Sterling just looked so cute making things with his face and when he smiled too. Maybe he didn’t know about that.

But should she tell him? Vivienne thought and then something crossed her mind.

They weren’t there on a date or for anything except for business.

Saying anything like that to him would only make him angry and might force him to cancel the department.

Assistant Mike returned with two waiters each carrying different set of trays.

On the trays were different kind of drinks, meals, and Desserts.

The waiters bowed their heads to both Vivienne and Sterling before arranging the table.

And as soon as they were done and lifted up their heads, their eyes met with Vivienne’s.

“Vivienne Montague!” they exclaimed.

“Oh my God! It’s true! You are really back!” The guys might have lose control if not for Assistant Mike who was still standing there.

“Hi, you must be a fan of mine.” she teased them.

“Of course we are a die heart fan of yours. We can’t believe we are seeing you one on one. Oh my God! What a dream come true!” Vivienne smiled.

So that was how people really love her. Though she knew, but she only thought they love her movies more than her.

“Awn that’s great, thank you. And guess what, I’ll be appearing on the screen very soon. Let it be a secret between us.” She winked at them.

Those two waiters would have melted on the floor right away when she winked at them.

She’s the most nicest and easy going actress they’ve ever come across in their life.

She is just as nice as the way she appears in her movies.
