Chapter 39

Fowler wanted to be seen together with Vivienne Montague one day while Sterling wanted the Pure Heart Entertainment and Sebastian to know that Vivienne would be acting with the top richest actor in the country.

“Sure, that sounds great.” Sterling sent a message to Assistant Mike and he showed up within a minute.

Assistant Mike took pictures of them together and left the office to do the next thing.

( You can do it, Vivienne)

Some minutes later, Assistant Mike returned back to the office.

“Mr. Hawthorn, the set is ready.” He announced.

Vivienne’s heart skipped a beat. She already forgotten that she was going to act that day. And being reminded of that made her heart beat abnormal.

She was so nervous and afraid that she might messed up in front of everyone.

“Ms. Vivienne, the floor is ours.” Fowler announced.

Vivienne forced a smile. She stood up from the sofa and they all left the office together.

When they arrived at the large hall inside the company where the movie was going to take place, Vivienne was wowed by the decorations there.

No one would know that was a hall, you’ll think it’s another city.

Houses were designed there. There were trees, Parks, waterfalls, Marketplace, supermarkets and also companies. But all were fake ones.

Vivienne took her time going from one house to another checking them out.

All the houses were beautiful both inside and house.

The world has indeed developed. Who knew a time would come that they wouldn’t be acting inside real houses anymore and inside real city anymore?

She was amazed by the effort the team put in designing all the houses made with woods and cardboard.

“Hey Vivienne.” Marcus waved from one of the houses he was checking out.

Vivienne went to him, glad that Marcus was there too.

“How do you see the place?” he asked her. “It’s so pretty, Marcus. Are you the one that suggested this?” she asked him, touching a flower.

“I wish.” he scoffed. “But no, the scriptwriters did. They refused to go with my idea as well,” he shrugged his shoulders.

“Oh okay, they did a great job. It’s good that their idea came to life. Just look at the whole place, Marcus. I thought I was in another city when I first entered here,” she giggled.

Marcus frowned. He wasn’t happy that Vivienne thought that place was beautiful.

“That means you also don’t like my idea.” He folded his arms.

“No, that’s not what I meant. Of course I’ll love your idea too. I always do,” she smiled at him.

“No you don’t. If you really do, you would have talked to Mr. Hawthorn to let me handle the story lines,”

Vivienne sighed. She stepped away from him touching the Interior decorations.

“Marcus, I already told you to follow this promptly. Let’s not do what will anger Mr. Hawthorn. You know he’s a man of principle and doesn’t like being talked out of what he’s doing.”

“Just,” he interrupted her.

“I heard you. You don’t have to remind me again. So how far with your rehearsal?”

Vivienne scoffed. That wasn’t good and didn’t go far.

“Just get ready to laugh at me.” she said.

Marcus was about to ask her what she meant by that when Assistant Li showed up.

“Thank goodness you are here. Ms. Vivienne, it’s time.” he announced.

“Okay, let’s go.” Vivienne went with him and she was directed in to the dressing room.

There were two ladies there arranging the make-up items while one was arranging the dress on a chair.

“Ms. Vivienne?” they both greeted.

Vivienne returned their greetings with a smile. She took the dress from the chair and went inside the room inside the room to get changed.

After she was done, she came out and the ladies helped did makeup for her.

They tied her hair in a pony, brushed the edges with transparent gel and applied light make-up on her face.

Vivienne turned her face from side to side to see if what they did was good.

“Can you add a little blush here?” she pointed at the right cheek.

Assistant Li returned with the document and gave it to her.

“The first scene you’re going to act today is this.” He pointed at the page marked.

“Why? I thought I was going to do this.” She pointed to page Eleven.

“Mr. Hawthorn told me to inform you as there’s going to be changes in that scene so, it’s been postponed to another day.” he explained.

Vivienne was disappointed. That was the simplest scene in that story.

But the one it was changed to, that was the hardest one she couldn’t memorize well.

“I’m doomed.” She Uttered under her breath.

“Excuse me? I didn’t hear you well.” Assistant Li thought she was talking to him.

“No, not you. Tell him I’ll be out there in five minutes.” He bowed his head and left.

Vivienne stared at the page blankly. Since she couldn’t memorize that scene in more than a week, was it in five minutes that she would do it?

She shook her head at her own misfortune. Sebastian was indeed going to mock her if she mess things up and news get to him.

“I can do this.” She inhaled deeply, went through the lines again and left the room.

Fowler was already on set, looking as handsome as he was. And Sterling, sitting behind the camera man.

Luckily for her, there weren’t many people present there.

Just Assistant Li and Mike, Sterling, Marcus, the camera man, the director, Fowler’s Assistant and Fowler himself.

Vivienne heaved a sigh of relief. All eyes turned to her when they heard her heels clinking on the floor.

Sterling smiled. “Why does she have to look beautiful all the time?” he thought and chuckled.

“You look pretty, Ms. Vivienne.” Everyone complimented her except Sterling who only smiled at her.

“On set…” The director announced.

Assistant Li hurried to her and took the document away from her.

“Good luck, Ms. Vivienne. You can do this.” He gave her a thumbs up.

Vivienne inhaled deeply before stepping on the stage.

“You finally came.” Fowler walked up to her with smiles on his face.

That smile wasn’t just a normal smile, it was a romantic one.

“I’ve been waiting here for so long, baby. I didn’t know you were taking your time to look this beautiful for me.”

Vivienne felt angry in her mind. She hated that word. Those were the words Sebastian always used in addressing her back then.

And why was Fowler doing that suddenly? Did Sebastian sent him to flirt with her or what?

Next thing, he went closer to her and held her hand. Vivienne’s heart was beating fast, she was so angry and wanted to tell him to stop but the next thing, he hugged her.

( What an idiot)

Vivienne couldn’t stop laughing at herself over and over again as she changed in to her dress.

She couldn’t believe she was such an idiot. She would have ruined the act with her foolishness if the director and the rest of the people backstage didn’t clap.

She thought Fowler was flirting with her in front of the people not knowing that was his own line and the camera was already recording.

Maybe she didn’t hear when the director announced action because she was so lost in her own thought.

And to say that she would have pushed Fowler away and worse, slap him.

“Oh lord, thank you for bringing me back to my senses. The news would have been flying all over the place now that I slapped Mr. Fowler,” she laughed.

Vivienne stepped out of the room holding the dress she wore before. She dropped it on the chair and sat down on the sofa.

She was so happy that she didn’t mess up the line. It turned out to be so simple for her and everyone clapped.

She didn’t know she could act romantic scenes anymore after her encounter with Sebastian.

“Well, this is just a movie. I’m never letting any man in to my heart again.” She smacked her lips.

After she was done tying the laces of her heels, she left the room.

“Weldon Ms. Vivienne, I knew you were going to make us proud.” Assistant Li clapped for her.

Vivienne laughed shortly. “You have no idea, Assistant Li. My heart was pounding fast and guess what?” Li moved closer.

“I thought Mr. Fowler was flirting with me, I wanted to slap him on the face.” Assistant Li laughed too.

That would have been a big show to watch. And he would be the first person to post it on the internet.

“Oh no, people would have been insulting our princess by now. I’m happy you didn’t do that,” he sighed of relief.

“Come, Mr. Hawthorn is waiting for you.” he took her straight out of the department to Sterling’s office.

In his office, Fowler was sitting on the sofa and on the table in front of the sofa were different varieties of foods.

Her stomach grumbled on seeing food. She was so hungry because she didn’t eat breakfast that morning.

“Come join us, Ms. Vivienne. It’s you we’ve been waiting for.” Fowler gestured to her.

She bowed to Sterling a little before sitting beside Fowler on the sofa.

“You two did a great job today. That’s wonderful,” Sterling nodded to them.

“That’s all thanks to you, Mr. Hawthorn. For pairing me with the best actress in Celestial,” Fowler chuckled.

“Oh Mr. Fowler, I should be the one thanking Mr. Hawthorn for pairing me with the best actor in Celestial.” She turned to Sterling.

“Thank you, Mr. Hawthorn.” Vivienne bowed her head.

“No Ms. Vivienne, I should thank him.” Fowler did as Vivienne did to Sterling and they all laughed.

“Do you want this? It’s good for you.” Fowler passed her roasted beef.

“Thank you,” she smiled at him.

When he saw that she was struggling with her fork and knife, Fowler took it from her and started shredding them on the plate.

“You don’t have to, Mr. Fowler,” Vivienne said but he insisted.

What a gentleman he is, Caring for her as if they were lovers.

“Don’t forget you are my girlfriend,” he said.

When he mentioned that, Sterling turned his attention to them.

As far as he knew, those two weren’t dating. They haven’t even met before until that day.

Since when did they start dating that he would call her his girlfriend? Sterling felt a little jealous over that. And to say that he was cutting her meat in to pieces for her like he would do to his girlfriend.

“In the movies I mean.” he added. Vivienne chuckled and Sterling looked away.

It better be in movies. Nothing like that would happen in real life between Fowler and Vivienne.

Sterling was surprised by his own thoughts. What was wrong with him? Was Vivienne his girlfriend? No, she’s only working for him. After all, he already has someone in his heart.

“Here, for the princess.” Fowler passed her the plate.

“Thank you Mr. Fowler, you are so helpful,” she giggled.

As they ate, they continued chattering and laughing while Sterling only listened to them.

Because Fowler already engaged Vivienne in a talk, he couldn’t even say what he wanted to say to her.

“So Ms. Vivienne, I heard you got married two years ago or is it three?” Fowler asked her.

Vivienne sighed inside. That wasn’t the right time to talk about her past marriage, she didn’t even like that.

And why would people keep asking her about it? She hate discussing about her personal life especially what has to do with Sebastian.

“Tell me, why did you quit making movies?” he asked her again.

And because Sterling was interested in knowing that too, he listened to them attentively, pretending he was working on his laptop.

“Well, I got married yes. And what you heard about me quit acting because of my husband were rumors. I only took a break,” she said.
