Chapter 40

Fowler nodded his head and Sterling too. But there were still questions they want her to answer.

“And why did you decide to come back? Are you getting a divorce with your husband?” he asked again.

Vivienne was silent. That sounded like an interview. Was Fowler recording it or what? But she didn’t see anything with him.

Even his phone was with his Assistant. But since they would be working together for a long time, she thought it was best she tell him.

“Well… Yes.” she giggled.

“Why? Aren’t you happy in the marriage?” he asked again.

“No,” she answered straight.

Sterling stole a glance at her. So that was what happened. He finally got to hear the personal life she didn’t want to tell him.

But why would she tell the person she met that day? Didn’t she trust him? He was jealous.

“One last question, Ms. Vivienne.” Fowler went on.

Vivienne sighed inside. She just wished he would stop asking her those questions. They weren’t good for her to even talk about.

It made her heart ached and angry to remember what Sebastian turned her in to in just two to three years.

“Can I know the lucky dude that married you but messed up his opportunity of being the husband of an angel?”

Vivienne chuckled softly. There was no need telling them it was Sebastian.

“Not going there. I decide to keep him a secret,” she said.

“Okay then, I won’t ask again,” he smiled and continued eating.

Sterling was disappointed that she wouldn’t tell them who her husband was.

He would have helped for rid of him for her. Or even force him to sign the divorce papers she would offer to him.

( A gift for Mr. Hawthorn)

Vivienne returned back home towards evening. She was so tired that she went straight to bed without taking her bath.

Her legs hurt from walking up and down the stage and backstage every three minutes.

All the scenes acted that day was of her and Fowler. No wonder they invited Fowler that day.

And luckily for her, she got everything correctly. Maybe it was because Fowler was nice to her that she didn’t miss a line.

When she remembered what she told Fowler in Sterling’s office, Vivienne tightened her eyes.

She couldn’t believe she let that out. Something she promised herself she was never going to let anyone know.

She hope Fowler wouldn’t go out there and tell another person.

Then Sterling, the memory of him asking her about that days ago came back.

She was so disappointed in herself for not telling Sterling who brought her back to the industry and told Fowler who she only met.

What was he going to think of her? That she didn’t trust him?

Vivienne sat upright. The sleep in her eyes faded when she remembered Sterling.

“I’m so sorry Mr. Hawthorn, I just hope you won’t take it to heart,” she sighed deeply.

“Maybe I should prepare something for him and take to him tomorrow. I know he wouldn’t be happy with me right now.”

“I’ll have to apologize to him tomorrow.”

After concluding on what she was going to do, she went in to the bathroom to freshen up.

The next morning, Marie did as she had planned the previous day.

She went in to the kitchen as early as 6am before the maids would wake up.

She made cookies, butter and chocolate cookies with Coconut flakes in the butter cookies.

She had no idea either Sterling would like it but she didn’t mind.

She just needed to apologize to him before he too start treating her bad.

Not that she’s a people’s pleaser, but she isn’t the type that want to get on people’s black list.

Especially people like Sterling. That was a bad thing to do.

“My goodness!” Lia exclaimed with her hands on her chest.

She didn’t expect to see Vivienne inside the kitchen. She thought it was one of the maids inside the kitchen when she heard the sound of utensils.

“Ms. Vivienne, you shouldn’t be doing this yourself. The maids are around.” Lia wanted to take over from Vivienne but she was already done.

“Hey that’s fine. I don’t want to disturb you guys sleep that’s why. But I’m done, its left for the cookies to get done.” she removed the gloves and threw them inside the trash can.

“Oh, Mr. Hawthorn isn’t going to be happy if he discover we let you inside the kitchen. Please don’t so it again. Wake us up even if it’s in the middle of the night.” Lia pleaded worriedly.

Vivienne chuckled. Not when she has her own hands and they are working fine.

Besides, she has been the one doing all her chores before moving in to Purelilly estate.

“That’s fine, he won’t get to hear this.” She checked the time on the wall clock.

“Please keep an eye on the cookies, they should be done in ten minutes. Sort them out and pack them in those boxes.” she pointed at two red boxes on the under counter.

“Yes ma’am.” Vivienne left the kitchen to go get ready.

She still has a hundred more scenes to Shoot. And she prayed it turns out easy as the previous day’s did.

She washed herself, applied light make-up, dressed in to a fancy peach gown with white laces at the edge, Pink heel sandal and left the room.

“Good morning Ms. Vivienne.” Assistant Li greeted from the stairs.

He was on his way going to Vivienne’s room it was time to leave when he saw her coming down.

“And to you too, Assistant Li,” she smiled at him.

“You look pretty as always.” He gave her a thumbs up.

“Oh Assistant Li, you’re so sweet. Thank you,” Vivienne giggled.

“You’re always welcome ma’am. It’s time to leave.” He made way for her and she went down the stairs.

Lia came out from the kitchen at the right time with the two boxes of cookies separated in each carton.

“It didn’t fit in all ma’am, I Stored the remaining cookies in the fridge,” Lia said after Assistant Li had taken the boxes from her.

“No need to store them, you and the girls can have it,” she said and they left.

Assistant Li placed the boxes beside Vivienne in the car while he went to the front seat.

Few minutes later, they arrived at the company. And luckily for her, none of her fans were present.

She heaved a sigh of relief before stepping out from the car.

“I’ll help you with the boxes.” Assistant Li offered to help but she insisted she’ll carry them by herself.

“You can go hand out, no need to follow me,” she smiled at him.

He watched her went inside the company holding the boxes on her arm.

Li wondered why she was taking the cookies to Sterling. As far as he knew, that wasn’t Sterling’s birthday.

His birthday has already passed months ago. He still remembered the little party Isabella threw in the house for him but he ended up embarrassing her in front of her friends.

“Are they dating?” Assistant Li thought, still looking at Vivienne.

He shrugged his shoulders and walked away. If they are dating, then the whole country would soon know about it.

When Vivienne went inside the office, Sterling was surprised to see her with the boxes.

She placed them on the desk and sat down on the chair facing the desk.

“Mr. Hawthorn, this is for you.” she pointed at the boxes. When she saw the questionable look on Sterling’s face, she sighed inside.

“I made these cookies this morning to apologize to you over what I said to Mr. Fowler yesterday.”

Sterling dropped the pen he was holding to concentrate on what she was saying.

“I know what I did wasn’t right that’s why I want you to forgive me. I told you it was a personal issue but ended up telling Mr. Fowler whom I just met yesterday.” she sighed again.

Sterling was glad she apologized. He glanced at the cookies and then at Vivienne.

“I thought Ms. Vivienne and Mr. Fowler are close,” he said looking at her.

“No, there’s nothing like that. We barely know each other in person. Just in movies. Sorry about that, Mr. Hawthorn.” She apologized again.

“That’s fine Ms. Vivienne. You told me it was a personal issue that was why I didn’t disturb you,”

Vivienne sighed of relief when he smiled at her.

( This is impossible)

Meanwhile in Penelope’s world, Sebastian was enraged in his office, going back and forth. He saw the news of Vivienne going in to Sterling’s company the previous day and thousands of people who had gathered to welcome her.

Sebastian was so angry. How dare Vivienne did that when she was still his wife? And how dare Sterling try to make her do things she wants.

Sebastian slapped the table angrily. No, Vivienne must never appear on the television, not when she’s still his wife.

“Mr. Penelope? I found out where she’s living.” Said his Assistant.

Sebastian inhaled deeply before turning around to face his Assistant.

“Here.” he handed over the paper to him.

“But unfortunately…” He went on.

“She doesn’t live there anymore,” Sebastian frowned.

“Then where does she lives now if she doesn’t live there anymore?” He dropped the paper on the desk.

His Assistant stepped forward as Sebastian sat down on the chair.

“Mr. Hawthorn took her away from rosewood estate to Purelilly estate,” he explained.

“She was living in rosewood estate?” Sebastian was shocked.

He didn’t know that was where she was living. He would have found her there and took her back home because he was always in that estate as that was where Sabrina lived.

What a missed of an opportunity. Vivienne would have been in his hands by then instead of Sterling’s.

And he took her to his work estate? Wonderful!

“Mr. Penelope, I’m sorry to say. But were Ms. Vivienne and Mr. Hawthorn in love before you two got married?”

Sebastian lifted up his head to look at his Assistant.

“I think there’s something going on between them, Mr. Hawthorn. Take a look at this.” he passed his phone to Sebastian.

There, he saw Vivienne’s picture together with Fowler and Sterling.

Sebastian’s jaw dropped. If there was anyone he would say Vivienne would date, then that should be Fowler.

He remembered when they were still together before marriage. Vivienne was always talking about meeting Fowler one day and to pair in a movie with him.

So Sterling went as far as bringing Fowler in to his company too to merge him with Vivienne.

“Whoa!” he exclaimed.

“All her fans are happy right now seeing that she’s going to be in the same movie with Mr. Fowler. What do you want me to do, Mr. Penelope? Do you want me to cause a scandal?”

Causing a scandal would be the greatest thing ever. But shouldn’t he be the one to set that up? After all, she’s still his wife.

Just as he was about to talk to his Assistant, Sabrina came in to the office.

“I’ll call you back,” he said to his Assistant and the Assistant left.

“Sebastian, did you see what I am seeing on the news?” she asked, bringing out her tablet from the bag.

Sebastian nodded his head. He knew what she was going to show him and he has already seen it.

“Vivienne is going to appear in a movie very soon? What are you doing, Sebastian? You can’t let this happen.” She gave him her tablet.

“I can’t lose my fans to her. You can see the number of people that are already waiting for the movie to he released. Please do something about this fast, that movie must not come in to the screen.” She pleaded.

Sabrina knew her acting career was going to be over the moment that movie comes out.
