Chapter 42

“I want to go home,” she said to Sterling, holding back her tears.

She could see disappointment on Sterling’s face and everyone present there.

Vivienne had to apologize to her stage step Mum and step sis before leaving the stage.

She felt bad for wasting their times there when they should be done with all the scenes of that day.

Sterling understood what she was going through and he ordered Assistant Li to take her home.

Vivienne returned back home looking so sad. She didn’t say a word to Lia and the other girls that were welcoming her.

She went straight to her room and locked herself in it.

Vivienne sat on the floor, supporting her back on the bed. She let the tears that had gathered in her eyes flowed freely.

“I can’t do this.” she sobbed. “It’s too simple for me. Sebastian has turned my life in to something else,” she cried.

If only she didn’t marry him, them she would have perfectly acted those scenes.

But he ruined her life that she hated it when someone’s trying to bully her.

Is that going to affect her acting career? Would she get kicked out of Sterling’s company? Would Sterling replace her with another actress?

What if he brings Sabrina in to the company to take the female lead role?

Vivienne was heart broken to even think about that. Not Sabrina, not even another person.

She has already disappointed Sterling and he won’t hesitate to take her away from the company.

“What have you done to me, Sebastian?” she sniffled.

“I’m going to kill you if you make me lose this opportunity.”

Vivienne wiped the tears on her face. She brought out the script document from her bag to go through it again.

She went to the dressing table, looking at herself in the mirror and started repeating that scene pretending her step Mum was standing there.

But even with that, she couldn’t get it right. She tried to say her line but it wasn’t as innocent as they want it to be.

“I’m doomed! Someone help me.” She released herself on the floor, sobbing.

“Ms. Vivienne, are you alright?” Came Lia’s voice from the door knocking.

Vivienne cleaned the tears on her face and covered her mouth.

It was better for her not to open the door and let Lia see her in that situation.

“Ms. Vivienne?” Lia called again but Vivienne didn’t answer.

Lia tried turning the door handle but it wouldn’t open. She knocked and knocked but still, Vivienne didn’t answer her and she left.

( First scandal)

Beep! Beep!

Sterling’s phone went off. He grabbed it from the side bed table to see the message that had popped up on his screen.

Sterling was shocked the moment he saw the headlines of the news.

VIVIENNE MONTAGUE hAS bEEN fIRED fROM hER MAJESTY’S ENTERTAINMENT iNDUSTRY.

Sterling sat upright and cleaned his eyes. When did that happen? Was the only thing running in his mind.

He doesn’t remember firing Vivienne from his company.

Just to see what they posted, Sterling clicked the notification and it took him to the website.

And there, there was a picture of Vivienne from the previous day when she sat down on a chair with her hands supporting her head.

“What da!” he exclaimed.

Who could have done that nonsense? Sterling dropped the phone on the bed and made his way inside the bathroom.

It was still 5am and he knew Vivienne might still be sleeping by then.

Waking her up with that news wouldn’t yield any good result.

Vivienne just returned and they are already causing scandals about her.

What if she decides to drop the career? What was he going to do? What would be the fate of his company?

Sterling came out from the bathroom within five minutes, he got dressed up, grabbed his phone and made his way out of the room.

He was such in a hurry to go to his company so things would be sorted out before the people see it and before Vivienne would see if.

But Isabella was already up, waiting for him to come out from his room.

“Sterling, see what this lady is bringing in to your company.” she flashed the phone on his face thinking Sterling hasn’t seen it yet.

Sterling sighed inside. It wasn’t a good thing that Isabella also saw the news.

She would use that against him and Vivienne too.

Isabella already doesn’t like Vivienne and people like her would find an opportunity to laugh at Vivienne.

“I’m in a hurry, stay out of my way.” Sterling said, buttoning his sleeve.

Isabella didn’t move out of the way. She want everyone in the city and beyond to see that news before Sterling would do anything about it.

She has reposted it on all of her social media handles and her followers who weren’t Vivienne’s fans has been posting it too.

What Sterling didn’t know was, the news got out in the middle of the night when half of the country were awake and active on social media.

“Don’t tell me you are going to Vivienne’s place.” she dropped her hands on her waist.

“It’s none of your business if I’m going to Vivienne’s place or not. Get out of my way!” Sterling pushed her away from the way, ignoring her landing on the floor.

He hurried down the stairs, dialing Assistant Mike’s number to come meet him in the company.

Sterling left alone but before he could get to the company, it was already 7am because of traffic.

“Mr. Hawthorn?” Assistant Mike greeted as soon as Sterling stepped out from the car.

Assistant Mike was already there and he too has seen the news about Vivienne.

“Who did that?” Sterling asked Assistant Mike as they hurried inside the company.

“I have no idea, Mr. Hawthorn. But I think the person should be among us the previous day.”

Sterling pressed the elevator button and stepped in.

“Go to her Majesty’s department and find out what’s going on there. Meet me in my office as soon as you are done there.” Assistant Mike bowed his head and took another elevator.

Sterling on his way to his office tried to call Vivienne on the phone but her phone was switched off.

It was such a relief for him that she wouldn’t have seen the news.

But what if she turned off her phone to avoid answering any calls after seeing the news? He hope she hasn’t.

He sat down on the chair, brought out his phone again to see the number of websites that was posted on.

But he couldn’t count them all. It seems the news has gotten out of the country too.

“Oh no!” he shook his head, thinking of what to do and how to take down the news.

Sterling has never in his life fell in to that before. But he saw it countless times when celebrities took their lives because of things like that.

Vivienne has gone through enough already. What if she decides to take her own life after seeing that?

Sterling leapt to his feet. No, he wouldn’t let that happen. Vivienne must never think of anything like that.

Not when he’s ready to take care of her for the rest of her life.

But who could be behind that? Sterling remembered all who were present in the stage the previous day.

Could it be one of them? But those people were busy going about with their works. He didn’t see anyone holding their phones or a mini camera.

“This is serious.” Sterling sighed deeply.

As he was still thinking of what to do, a call came in to his phone.

“Mr. Hawthorn, is what I am seeing in the news the truth? Has Ms. Vivienne Montague been fired from the company?” Came an elderly man’s voice.

Sterling removed the phone from his ear to see who was on the call with him.

It was one of the shareholders of his company. The man’s voice sounded worried as he spoke.

They knew it would be a great lose to the company if Vivienne was fired.

And already, some of her fans would stop purchasing anything from the company.

“That isn’t true. It’s a mistake.” Sterling ended the call.

Calls kept coming in to his phone one after the other that he had to turn off his phone.

Assistant Mike returned together with Marcus from the department.

Marcus too was shocked to see that news.

“Mr. Hawthorn, you have to do something about this as soon as possible before Vivien get to see it,” Marcus said immediately he stepped inside the office.

That was what Sterling too has been thinking. But he didn’t know how to go about it.

“How, Marcus, how? You will know what I should do because you’ve been in the industry for years now,”

Marcus nodded his head. Finally, Mr. Hawthorn was requesting for his help.

How he wished his story idea would be used for the movie instead.

“Mr. Hawthorn, in situations like this, the president of the company will have to organize a session with the journalists and paparazzi to clear the false rumor,” he explained.

Sterling nodded his head. He glanced at Assistant Mike who in turn bowed his head and left the office.

Sterling has never has a one on one session with the journalists before but for Vivienne and for the reputation of his company and himself, he would have to do it.

“Mr. Hawthorn, the Majesty’s department has been in chaos since the news came out. They are afraid the news is true and…” Sterling interrupted him.

“Go calm them down. Tell them all it’s rumors.” He picked his phone from the desk to leave the office but then, he started hearing voices from the window.

( It will never happen again)

Marcus was first to go to the window to see what was going on and right down in the company’s compound, thousands of people holding banners were shouting on top of their voices.

“We demand to know why Vivienne Montague was fired from this company! Justice for Vivienne Montague!” They all yelled.

Sterling’s jaw dropped. A protest in his company? That was the first time and he promised that would be the last.

How was he going to handle all those people? Even his bodyguards who were trying to stop them couldn’t.

Should he call the cops to come clear those people? Sterling thought. But if the cops come and try to send them away, they would think the news is true.

“Mr. Hawthorn?” Assistant Mike called from the door.

“They are here in the meeting hall waiting for you.” he announced.

Sterling heaved a sigh of relief. He ordered Assistant Li and Marcus to turn on the very large HD TV on top of the company and make sure the news for live so those people would see if.

He made his way to the meeting hall where the journalists and paparazzi were waiting for him.

Before he starts answering their questions, he made sure Assistant Mike and Marcus were back and reported to him the large HD TV was on.

“Mr. Hawthorn, the citizens of the country woke up today to see the saddest news ever about their favorite actress, Vivienne Montague. Could you tell us the truth about the news saying she has been fired from this company?”

Sterling inhaled and exhaled deeply before he started talking in the microphone.

“I, Sterling Hawthorn the president of HAWTHORN’S hEAVEN wants to clear the false news going around the social media today that Ms. Vivienne Montague has been fired from this company.”

The paparazzi started talking pictures of him while others recorded the video.

Assistant Mike and Marcus stood beside each other as Assistant Mike recorded the live video for the HD TV.

All Vivienne’s fans who were shouting for justice went mute when Sterling’s face showed up in the television and they concentrated on what he was going to say.
