The Billionaire’s Obsession
Chapter 48
Chapter 50
“No thanks, I’m okay.”
She wouldn’t take that thing in the name of skin care. Not when she was going out.
What if she developed a runny stomach out there? No way would she embarrass herself.
“Tell Assistant Li to meet me outside, we’ll be going out,”
Lia nodded her head and hurried away disappointed that Vivienne didn’t take the drink from her.
As soon as she entered the car, Assistant Li came hurrying out tying his bow.
“Good morning Ms. Vivienne.” he bowed his head.
“I didn’t know we would be going out today,” he said, opening the front door.
“Oh yes, Assistant Mike stopped by yesterday to inform me Mr. Hawthorn wants me in the company.” she said with a sigh.
Li nodded his head. He heard her sign and he wish it was something bad.
Maybe Sterling should fire her so he would stop slaving around for a woman.
When they arrived at the company, Assistant Mike wanted to take her to the meeting hall where the scriptwriters and Marcus were waiting for her.
But she wanted to see Sterling first, to apologize to him over what she did. Maybe that would make him change his mind from firing her.
“That’s not a problem, please follow me.” Assistant Mike left the way as Vivienne and Assistant Li followed him from the back.
When they arrived at Sterling’s office, he was looking through the wardrobe for something important.
“Mr. Hawthorn, Ms. Vivienne is here.” Assistant Mike announced.
Sterling paused for a second before turning around to look at her.
“Good morning Mr. Hawthorn.” Vivienne and Assistant Li bowed their heads.
Sterling nodded to them and continued what he was doing before they came in.
“I see Mr. Hawthorn is busy, can I help with you look for it?” Vivienne asked so she would have time alone with him to apologize.
“That’s fine, I’ll do it alone,” Sterling said coldly.
Vivienne felt embarrassed but she kept her smile on her face.
“Assistant Mike, take Ms. Vivienne to the hall, they are already waiting for her.” He instructed.
“And make sure you keep an eye on them. Understand?” he added.
“Yes, Mr. Hawthorn.” Assistant Mike bowed his head.
He turned to Vivienne who was confused about the whole thing.
Who was waiting for her in the meeting hall? And why should Assistant Mike keep an eye on them?
What was going on? She wanted to ask Sterling but the way he answered her before showed that wasn’t the right time to say that.
She left the office with Assistant Mike and Li. Vivienne was so silent as they led her to the meeting hall.
What was she going to expect there? Was the only thing running through her mind.
As the door opened, her heart skipped a beat. She was afraid that might be her last day working in the company.
But when she stepped in and saw Marcus with the scriptwriters, her mind was a little at ease.
Maybe it was something that has to do with the acting. She thought.
Marcus smiled at her while the scriptwriters bowed their heads to her in respect.
“You are finally here, Ms. Vivienne. We’ve been waiting here for more than an hour now.” Mr. Kenneth spoke.
“I’m so sorry for keeping you waiting for me.” She apologized as she sat down on a chair.
“That’s fine, Ms. Vivienne,” Marcus chuckled.
Vivienne smiled back at him waiting for someone to tell her what the meeting was all about.
“Vivienne, can I have a word with you please? Just the two of us.” Marcus requested.
“Sure,” Vivienne smiled.
But as she was about to stand up, Assistant Mike returned with two copies of a paper.
“Ms. Vivienne, do you need anything?” he asked her when he saw her trying to stand up.
“No, Mr. Marcus wants to have a word with me,” she smiled.
Assistant Mike glanced at Marcus with a smirk. He knew what Marcus was going to do, to talk her in to accepting his own story idea.
But that wasn’t going to work since he was there.
“You guys can talk later please,” he said.
“Don’t worry, I’ll listen to him now. After all, Mr. Hawthorn hasn’t arrived yet,” Vivienne insisted.
“No, Ms. Vivienne. Mr. Hawthorn won’t come here now that’s why he wants us to start this urgently. Please sit so we can do this.” He pointed at the chair.
When Vivienne glanced at Marcus, he wasn’t pleased with what Mike just did.
“You have no idea if what I want to say to her is urgent.”
Assistant Mike sighed. That wasn’t his concern. Even if it was something serious, he knew it was about the story ideas.
Vivienne was a soft hearted person that likes to give back to the people that helped her.
And nothing would stop her from agreeing to choose Marcus’s idea after he brainwashed her.
So it was better he stopped him from talking to her or all of them would regret it later.
( What am I, a villain?)
Seeing how Marcus was wasting their times by insisting he wanted to talk to Vivienne, the scriptwriters chipped in.
“Mr. Marcus, we know what you want to do. But you should respect yourself and let this go. Allow her work on it by herself.”
Vivienne was confused on what was going on and why the scriptwriters were talking Marcus out of seeing her alone.
What was happening? She thought as she stared at them one after the other.
Marcus got upset with them but decided to keep his cool. Since his name was already written on the document, he knew Vivienne would choose his even though he didn’t talk to her.
“Please go on.” he gestured to Assistant Mike.
Assistant Mike shook his head with a sigh before handing the documents to Vivienne.
She stared at it for a while thinking of what she would do with them.
On the first pages of the documents, she could see two different tittles written boldly on it.
Was the movie changed? She was curious to know. And if it was changed then that was a good thing for her.
“Go through them, Ms. Vivienne. And choose any of the story you like best and want to act.” Assistant Mike instructed.
Vivienne felt so delightful. She was giving a choice to choose the movie she wanted to act? What a wonderful thing Mr. Hawthorn has done for her.
And there she was, thinking he wanted to fire her from his company.
Full of excitement, Vivienne fixed her eyes on one of the document reading it carefully.
“Shouldn’t we tell Ms. Vivienne which of the stories was written each of us?” Marcus asked.
Assistant Mike frowned at him “That isn’t necessary, Mr. Marcus. Let Ms. Vivienne decide then we’ll tell her who wrote it.”
But that didn’t go well with Marcus. Even though he unscripted his name on the document so Vivienne would see it, he wanted her to be told the writers of each story.
The argument from Marcus surprised her because she saw nothing to argue about.
Vivienne didn’t even raise her head to look at them or add to what the were saying. She was so engrossed in reading the stories which were summarized for easy understanding.
Her scoffed made them stopped arguing to concentrate on her.
Vivienne dropped the documents on the desk after she was done reading them.
“I can say, these stories are great…” she started.
“But something is wrong with one of the stories,”
Marcus smiled mischievously. In his mind, she was talking about the scriptwriters stories.
“Ms. Vivienne, are you sure you went through the stories very well? We want you to choose the one you know you won’t have flaws in.” Assistant Mike said.
“Yes, Assistant Mike. I went through them all and I have problem with one.” she picked up one of the documents.
“This is lame. How can I act like a villain in a movie which will go out to the audience? Do you think my fans out there will want to see this movie? I can’t even do this, I’m not an evil person…” she dropped it on the desk again.
“I, to kill my husband? Then be arrested at the end of the movie? This isn’t a horror movie I guess. And if it is, I won’t do it.”
Marcus bit his lower lip in anger. He clenched his fist under the desk trying to control himself.
How dare Vivienne said that about his story in front of all those people?
Didn’t she saw his name written boldly on the front page for her to know what to say about it?
How could she humiliate him in front of those scriptwriters and Assistant Mike who doesn’t like his story idea?
“That’s correct, Ms. Vivienne. Why don’t you talk about the next one?” Assistant Mike pointed at the other document.
Vivienne picked it, went through it again and sighed.
“I think this will be great.” She flipped the page to the last page.
“Wow!” she exclaimed. “I love everything about this one. Can you see how the ending goes? Like seriously, this is just the type of a character I want to act.” she giggled.
“From a weak girl to a strong girl. This is great. I’m sure my fans will love this. Everyone would be looking forward to seeing me in a new character.”
Assistant Mike and the scriptwriters nodded their heads.
They were glad Vivienne chose the best story instead of a horror one.
What she said was true. No one would want to watch her being a villain in a movie.
After she was done in that hall, Vivienne left to Sterling’s office.
She didn’t even look at Marcus who was fuming in anger right there at the hall.
She only walked away after giving her positive Reviews about the stories.
Again, she didn’t meet Sterling in the office. But this time, Vivienne sat down to wait for him in the office.
Wherever he would be, she knew he would return back to his office.
She must talk to him that day and apologize if there was something she did wrong that he didn’t answer her call the previous day and even turned off his phone.
Few minutes later, Assistant Mike showed up in the office. He thought Vivienne was in her office or has already left but was surprised to find her there.
“When is Mr. Hawthorn coming back?” she asked Assistant Mike.
Assistant Mike hesitated for some moments. He too didn’t know when Sterling would be returning back to the office because he went back home when they were still in the hall.
“I have no idea, Ms. Vivienne. But you can wait in your office, I’ll inform you when he’s back,” he said.
Vivienne sighed inside but smiled outside. She was worried he must be angry with her that was why he didn’t want to see her.
But was he really mad at her? He wouldn’t have given her another opportunity for another movie again if he was angry with her.
Maybe something was wrong somewhere but not about her.
( Thanks for the humiliation)
“Okay, please do let me know when he’s back,” Vivienne smiled at him.
She left the office, thinking of what would have gone wrong.
And as soon as she stepped inside her office, she met Marcus there.
His face wasn’t lively at all which surprised her. Vivienne shrugged her shoulders.
She went to her chair and sat down looking at him.
“What is it, Mr. Marcus?” she asked, slouching on the chair.
Marcus stepped forward until he was standing in front of her desk.
He removed his hands from the pocket then placed them on the desk.
“Thank you for the humiliation, Vivienne.”
Vivienne raised a brow surprisingly. What humiliation was he talking about? She doesn’t remember humiliating him anywhere.
“What are you talking about, Marcus. Can you explain it please?”
