The Billionaire’s Obsession
Chapter 52
Chapter 54
“You know, I wanted to give this to you but those owls wouldn’t let me.” he laughed.
Vivienne raised a brow. So the gift was truly hers but he pretended it wasn’t hers? But why?
“If I had given this to you out there, we’ll find ourselves in the news before the day ends.” He sat down on the sofa.
That was so thoughtful of him. But it wasn’t necessary he brings her gifts everyday.
“But you didn’t have to bring…” he interrupted her.
“Don’t say that, you deserve it,” he said.
For her, she doesn’t deserve anything. Fowler knows that she was still married to her husband.
Why then was he treating her that way? Was he waiting for him to divorce her so that he would propose to her?
With those thoughts running in her mind, Assistant Li came to the office and announced to them Sterling was waiting for them in the hall.
89.
Even though there was obstacles on their way, the movie was done successfully.
Vivienne was more happier than everyone because she didn’t mess anything up. And to say that her first movie after returning back to the industry was such a big blow to everyone.
No one expected she was coming back as a new character. They thought she would remain the innocent girl she always acted in movies.
Rumors started escalating that her marital life which everyone was talking about was true.
Her growth from weak to strong lady in that movie made everyone believed she really went through hardship in her husband’s hands.
They believed that was what made her character more interesting than the usual ones.
Everyone except Marcus were happy with the outcome of the movie.
He wasn’t happy that it wasn’t his idea that was selling that way.
Just a day after releasing the movie, they made Billions of dollars which made Sterling’s company the richest company in the entertainment industry too.
Sterling was more tha happy. He knew Vivienne was going bring fortune in to his company and he was right.
“Didn’t we told you this is going to be a big thing for the company?” Mr. Come teased Marcus who has refused to smile with anyone ever since the movie started airing.
He ignored them and left where they were sitting. No need telling him what he already saw.
Vivienne wanted to talk to him too but Marcus ignored her and didn’t go to her.
The only time he went to see Sterling was when Sterling summoned him for them to plan on a vacation with the department.
He would have turned it down but because he was looking for ways to make Vivienne regret what she did to him, Marcus told him to leave everything in his hands.
He was going to take care of where they would go for the vacation.
“Vivienne, I told you not to worry that this movie is going to sold out,” Fowler said to her in her office.
Vivienne nodded her head. She remembered when he told her that few days ago when she grew worried that people might not like her movie because of the change in character.
“Yea, I didn’t know they’ll the happy to see the new me.” she laughed shortly.
“And they did. I wonder what your husband would be thinking now. Since he doesn’t want you back in the industry, I’m sure he’s going through heartbreak right now.” He mocked.
Vivienne giggled. Fowler was right because she got a call from Sebastian the previous night telling her he would make sure she never appears on the screen again.
Vivienne ignored him. She was already used to hearing those words from him ever since he found out she was now living with Sterling.
“Forget about him.” she said. “I still have my future to plan.” she shrugged her shoulders.
As they were still talking, Assistant Mike came to the office.
“Mr. Hawthorn wants to see you both now.” he bowed his head and left.
They were surprised that Sterling wanted to see them again.
That would be the third time he would be calling them.
The first time they went together, he told them he would get back to them when he was done.
The second time was the same thing too and Vivienne knew why he was doing that.
Because she was going together with Fowler and Sterling didn’t like that.
“Uhm Fowler, you can go ahead. I’ll be right there,” she said, picking her phone from the desk.
“Why? Let’s go together. I’ll wait for you.” he said.
But Vivienne insisted he go alone as he wanted to speak on the phone with someone.
All that was just to make Fowler go alone so Sterling won’t send them back again.
After so much insisting from Vivienne, he left.
When she was sure he would be in Sterling’s office at that time, she left her office too.
Seeing them went there one after the other, Sterling was happy inside.
Seeing Fowler together with Vivienne all the time broke his heart. He wasn’t always with Vivienne at the company because Fowler wouldn’t let her be alone.
Sterling wondered what Fowler was still doing around Vivienne when the movie was already over.
“Mr. Hawthorn, you called.” Vivienne sat down on the chair in front of the desk while Fowler sat on the sofa.
“Oh yes. I just had a meeting with the Majesty’s department and we’ve concluded we’ll go for vacation to celebrate our huge achievement.” he said.
Vivienne’s face brightened up. She would be going for a vacation after years of getting none. What a beautiful thing for Sterling to do.
“That’s so thoughtful of you, Mr. Hawthorn. I’m so happy with this.”
“You deserve more than this, Vivienne. Don’t forget our company is now at the top in the entertainment industry too because of you.” Sterling said smiling.
“What about you, Mr. Fowler?” Sterling asked him but deep down in his mind, he wished Fowler would say no to it.
He knew Fowler was going to be with Vivienne all the time and he was going to be lonely.
“Well, since Vivienne’s going, I think I should go too.” he said.
Sterling was disappointed. If there was a way he would stop Fowler from going, he would definitely do that.
“Then that means I should go start getting my things ready,” Vivienne said, standing up from the chair.
“But Mr. Hawthorn hasn’t tell us when we will be traveling.” Fowler reminded her.
“That will be in three days,” Sterling said.
“See? You still have three days to prepare.”
“No, it’s better I start preparing now. I love traveling.” she stood up from the chair and exited the office happily.
Fowler followed her making Sterling rolled his eyes.
He scoffed before continuing what he was doing before they came in to the office.
Sterling thought of a way he was going to stop Fowler from going with them.
But whichever he think wasn’t what he wanted.
90.
Three days later, Vivienne was already ready to leave. She moved out from Sterling’s place the previous day to get her things ready to leave.
Sterling thought they would be leaving together not until she told him there was something important she has to do before leaving.
“I can wait for you.” he said over the phone. But Vivienne told him to go ahead because she didn’t want to go with anyone.
It was better she go by herself with her Assistant. Fowler has told her he would go with her but she turned him down too.
And if he was to see her with Sterling, then he wouldn’t be happy with her.
For her, it was better she maintain her relationship with them without making any of them hate each other.
“Ms. Vivienne, I’m ready.” Assistant Li who she has been waiting for came out from his room.
He carried the bags which were on the floor and took them out of the house.
Vivienne sat at the back seat while Assistant Li did the driving.
She told all the guards to stay behind at home because she wanted to travel like a normal person.
“We aren’t there yet? I’m so tired already,” Vivienne sighed.
Assistant Li chuckled from the driver’s seat.
“We still have two hours drive to go, Ms. Vivienne. You are tired already? Please don’t be,” he said.
Vivienne sighed again. She didn’t know it was going to be so far like that. She would suggested they book a flight.
Few minutes later, Assistant Li’s phone started ringing.
“Excuse me please, Ms. Vivienne.” He opened the car and stepped out.
Vivienne thought it was Sterling that called not until he left the car.
If it was Sterling, he wouldn’t have left the car. He would have answered the call in front of her inside the car.
But who could that be? She saw Assistant Li pointing towards the car as he spoke on the phone.
Was he talking about her with the person over the phone? What were they talking about? Was it to harm her?
Vivienne regretted not allowing the bodyguards go with them at that moment.
What if Assistant Li has been treating her good so she wouldn’t suspect a thing? What if he wanted to use that opportunity to carry out his plans against her?
She became so scared and started looking around from the window.
No houses were nearby and no cars pass by for her to look for help if what she was thinking was true.
She saw him returning back to the car and she pretended nothing was wrong.
“What a good day to leave the world,” Li laughed.
He was going to kill her? Vivienne’s heart started palpitating.
What has she threw herself in to? If anything happens to her, then she was to blame herself.
“Who’s dying?” she asked him but he only laughed at started driving.
An hour and thirty minutes later, the car stopped and didn’t want to move again.
Vivienne thought Assistant Li was going to get rid of her there not until he stepped out of the car to check the engine.
“Ms. Vivienne, I’m afraid this car has stopped,” he said from outside.
Vivienne checked the time, it was already getting dark and she was scared of the dark.
She came down from the car looking so worried.
“What should we do now?” she asked him. “I don’t know, maybe we should call Mr. Hawthorn to send another car for us.” Li suggested.
“You see the sign board there, we’ve reach out destination.” he pointed at the sign board ahead of them.
“We could get a taxi to take us there but you are a celebrity and it’s dangerous for you.”
Vivienne was confused. Was he really an evil person or not?
Why was he telling her they should call Sterling instead of him doing what he wanted to do to her at that moment?
Nevertheless, she returned back to the car and called Sterling.
Vivienne removed her scarf from the bag as cars were already passing by and she wouldn’t want to be seen outside.
She wrapped it on her face while leaning on the car waiting for Sterling to arrive.
“I’ll go get you something to eat and drink over there.” He pointed at the restaurant not very far away from them.
Vivienne nodded her head while praying Sterling would arrive soon before anything happens.
As soon as Sterling received her call, he grabbed the car keys from the table and left the camp.
Assistant Mike followed him and they went together.
Immediately they arrived at where Vivienne told him they were, Assistant Mike was the first to see her.
But instead of Vivienne, he saw a lady whose face was covered in a scarf.
“Mr. Hawthorn?” he called Sterling who was trying to call Vivienne on the phone.
“Look over there, doesn’t that lady looks familiar?” He pointed head of them where Vivienne stood leaning on the car.
