Clara rang the doorbell of Lara’s apartment. She was wearing a peach tank top with white floral designs, white jeans with peach thong sandals and a bag was hanging on her left shoulder.
“Yes… Coming,” Lara called out from the inside. And a while later, the door was opened.
Lara opened the door and saw Clara, she immediately opened it wide with a cheerful smile. “Oh, Clara, it’s you. Come in please, the twins are ready.”
Clara had promised to take the twins with her to the amusement park.
She smiled at Lara while nodding her head then walked inside. The twins were already dressed up, they wore similar outfits, an orange top with pink flowers drawn on it, and white shorts with cute pink sneakers. They were holding two red water flasks that were shaped like an apple.
When they saw Clara, they ran to her cheerfully and Clara bent down to kiss their cheeks.
“Auntie Auntie. We’re ready,” Lea said excitedly and hugged her neck.
Mia hugged her arm and stared at her with her bright eyes expectantly.
Clara laughed softly and held their hands then stood up and turned to Lara. “We’ll be off now.”
“Okay, take care,” Lara said with a smile and turned to the girls. “Babies, be good, and don’t make trouble for Auntie.”
“Okay, mama. Bye bye mama.”
“Okay, mama…Bye bye mama.”
Both girls replied simultaneously with their cute baby voices and kissed their mom on the cheek before leaving.
Clara was walking downstairs with the girls when her phone started ringing, she took it out of her bag and received it.
“Hey, Mira. Okay… give me a moment, I’m on the way.”
Mira was waiting downstairs, and Clara wondered if Jack had arrived too.
After Mira put down the phone, she went and sat on a nearby bench in front of the apartment building. She was wearing a blue t-shirt and black jeans with flat shoes.
She looked at the bustling street ahead and breathed deeply.
Her phone suddenly started ringing and she brought it out of her bag then looked down at the caller ID.
“What does he want now?” she scoffed and put the phone down while frowning with a solemn expression. And she wondered why he was calling her now. Her phone rang many times and she finally decided to turn it off.
She took out a necklace that she always carried around and stared at it, her expression changing from that of anger to sadness.
She suddenly heard footsteps coming from her side and looked up then saw Clara with two cute little girls by her sides that looked exactly alike.
Mira’s eyes brightened instantly and she jumped up and hastily walked towards them.
“Wow, Clara, where did you get these adorable babies? They’re so cute,” she said and squealed excitedly while looking at the two babies with sparkling eyes and both hands on her cheeks.
Clara laughed at Mira’s reaction and proudly said, “I know right? They’re my babies, they take after me, isn’t it?”
The two kids giggled and instantly played along.
Lea held Clara’s hand tightly and said in her childish voice, “Mummy, is this the aunty you told us about?”
Mia nodded her head and giggled before adding, “Mummy, Aunty is so pretty.” She then turned to Mira and said, “Hi, Aunty.”
Mira was dumbstruck. She was so shocked that her handbag fell out of her hand. She could only exclaim, “Cl–Clara, Y–You have children!?”
Clara had been trying hard to suppress her laughter but when she looked at Mira’s dumbfounded look, she suddenly burst into a fit of laughter.
“Pfft, Mira. Just look at your expression. Haha, do I look like someone that has babies to you?”
She laughed heartily and patted the two girls on their hair while saying, “Good, girls. Mummy will give you two a great reward.” And the twins nodded their heads and smiled proudly.
Mira was still in shock when she saw Clara suddenly laughing then she realized that she was fooled by her friend and the two little girls.
“Clara! You almost gave me a heart attack,” she said furiously while patting her chest lightly.
Clara was trying to catch her breath after laughing so hard and was about to say something when Jack’s car arrived.
“Hi, girls.” Jack came out of the car and waved at the ladies.
He was wearing a white shirt and navy blue pants. He noticed two little girls by Clara’s side and frowned slightly. From the information he got about her, the reports did not show that she had kids. So he thought maybe the kids belong to the other lady standing beside Clara who he guessed was Mira the friend that she told him about.
He walked towards them with a wide smile then Clara quickly introduced them and she also told him that the kids belonged to her neighbor.
After the introductions, they all entered Jack’s car and drove off to the amusement park.
Zach was driving back home while staring gloomily at his phone. “Hmmm.” He heaved a sigh and placed it down.
When he arrived at his garage, he parked his car and went out of it with a dejected look on his face. He looked ahead the fence towards his brother’s house and saw his brother walking towards his own garage with Lucy skipping behind him.
His expression brightened immediately and he ran towards his brother’s house.
Carl was driving out of the garage with Lucy in his car when they suddenly saw Zach running towards them almost bumping into the car.
Carl stopped the car and frowned and Zach used that opportunity to open the back seat and jumped inside excitedly.
“Big bro, where are you guys off to?” he inquired eagerly.
Lucy pouted her lips, obviously vexed. “Big bro, throw him out. He’s going to spoil our day. Please please please.” She whined to Carl.
Zach poked her head from behind. “Hehehe, little cat. Didn’t father confine you in the mansion? What are you doing here?” he said and added mischievously. “I’m sure father will be looking for you now. Lemme give him a call.”
He made a gesture of bringing out his phone from his pants pocket and Lucy’s expression instantly changed.
