Chapter 29: Lana’s Return

Aria’s POV

I wasn’t surprised by her action, I already knew who Lana was. She could do anything in front of my brothers to look like a good person but behind their backs, her true colors would emerge.

“What I did that day was a mistake that I have promised never to repeat. Aria knows, we were only playing and…”

“Stop lying, Lana, that didn’t look like you guys were playing. Besides, you and Aria haven’t been on good terms since she arrived here. You’ve always wanted to be the Alpha leader so, you can do anything to…”

“I swear I am a changed person.”

She interrupted, crying.

“Like I said before, I learned my lesson the hard way out there. Please take me back, I won’t bother Aria again, I won’t even bother anyone. I don’t need the Alpha position, it belongs to Aria,”

Lana looked like she was a good person as she spoke, but we all knew she was lying. There was no way Lana would have changed out there. Nobody could even touch her, she has deep connections.

She was only doing that just so we could forgive her and bring her back home. She wanted us to believe that she wasn’t safe out there.

“You can’t fool me,”

Damien hissed at her and pecked my cheek.

“I am out of here, little sis. I have to start investigating yesterday’s accident.”

“Same here,”

Rafe picked up his gun from the sofa and put it in his pocket.

“See you later, baby sis.”

He pecked me too, glared at Lana and left.

“When I return later, I will bring you some medication to take.”

He also left after pecking me, and only Kael remained.

Lana kept pleading with Kael but he ignored her, attending to me. He kept parting my hair, tucking them behind my ears, checking my face, then my fingers.

“You need to go to the spa,”

He finally said after examining me for a few minutes.

“I will send over my assistant, she will take you to the best spa pallor in the pack.”

Why would I even need a mate when my brothers are taking care of me?

‘We need a mate, girl!’

Liza snapped,

‘Your brothers can’t mate with you!’

She was correct. There are things they can’t do for me that only my mate would.

Speaking of mate, Jace’s thought crossed my mind. I wondered how he was faring and what he was doing at that moment.

His though kept crawling into my mind since the tragedy and I wanted to see him so bad.

“Kael?”

Lana sniffled, interrupting my thoughts.

“Who’s there?”

Kael called and two bodyguards rushed in.

“I don’t want to see her here.”

They charged towards Lana and grabbed her hands.

“Don’t do this, Kael, please, I am not safe out there, they are after my life, they attacked me yesterday!”

None of us paid her any attention, neither did the bodyguards stopped.

“I’ll be right there.”

Kael said on the phone and returned his phone in his pocket.

“See you later little sis,”

He pecked me.

“Bianca will be here soon, get ready.”

He left too and an hour later, his assistant, Bianca came.

I was so intrigued by her beauty especially her twisted black hair. If I were a guy, I wouldn’t hesitate in marking her as my mate. Even her skin was so fairly toned, smooth as milk, and she smells like a rose. To top it all, she was so polite, friendly, and intelligent.

Well, why wouldn’t she be? Kael would never hire anyone opposite in her characters as his assistant.

The few minutes I spent with her, I learned a lot especially about Kael. All that she said about him made me wondered if she was more interested in Kael’s background than any other thing.

“Can I interest you in an amazing topic?… don’t worry, it’s about the pack.”

I nodded, careful not to let the cucumber slices on my eyes dropped.

“A few weeks ago, I heard a group of the pack members discussing about your plan to create an organization that targets those with special illness.”

I totally forgot about the organization until she mentioned it. It wasn’t my fault, things weren’t just going well. And I didn’t believe it was all in the people’s ears already.

Nina hasn’t broadcasted it, neither have I made an announcement on it. Nothing about that have even been put into place except for the registration.

“Alpha Aria? I suggest you build a company for that organization then employ the capable people from this pack to run it under your command. That way, you can create more job opportunity for those who are jobless.”

Bianca was an angel sent from above to guide me and an idea came to my head at that moment; to steal her from Kael.

With her as my assistant, I could already picture myself as the best Alpha leader in the whole kingdom.

“Alpha Aria? It’s time to take off the mask.”

The spa attendant lady said. She removed the cucumber slices, wiped off the mask and left.

“Thanks for the important suggestion, Bianca, I will put that into account.”

She blushed, nodding her head.

“It’s nothing, Alpha Aria, I only want the best for this pack. And with leaders like you, I am confident that we will get the best.”

That was the first time someone was saying if to my face. Bianca’s words gave me confident and the zeal to never betray them.

A few minutes after Bianca stepped out to answer a call, Lana graced my presence with her appearance. Seeing her all dressed up and neat didn’t surprise me a bit. I already figured out that all she did back at the mansion were all fake.

“Aria?”

She dropped her hands on the sofa handle I was sitting on, enveloping me between her arms.

“I have two proposal, and you must choose one. Tell Kael to take me back into the mansion because he is the only one who could give the order and everyone must obey,”

She paused, glaring into my eyes like a predator who was ready to pounce on its prey.

“Next?”

I folded my arms, raising an eyebrow.

“I stab you right here, give the order for your brothers to be killed and get back as the Alpha leader.”
